I would not be at all surprised if this issue has caused the most traffic on the forums of all subjects since the game was opened, judging by that list.

Surely that says to LL that the community at large want something to be done about it?

LL have the tools, the power, and the backing of many players, to solve all of this, yet they do nothing....... and why they won't is beyond my comprehension.

Not so sure about "community at large" here. Sure there is an excessive amount of posts about this situation. But in many cases, the posts are satire or (enough already! type posts). As for the legitimate complaints, I wouldn't be suprised if it was just a handful of individuals and alts (in one case it was plainly obvious someone came on with alts) complaining.

Community at large would suggest that out of 100k + users, the majority of them were fed up with this behavior. I think that's not the case at all.

As for LL having the power and "backing of many players" to solve all this....... What kind of majority would it take to justify bulldozing (or banning) players who build and host clubs. I happen to know quite a few people who dislike clubs - but I wouldn't begin to call them a majority.

How would you like it if LL and a small handful of players decided it was in everyone's best interest to shut down your club?

For a proper perspective on the entire "thing I don't like in my view" one should include the archives in the search, using a variety of search terms like 'grief build", "ugly sign", "damn neighbor", and the like.

Also one should make sure to include the index itself in the list just cuz geeks love recursion.

Surely there's more.

I've been frequenting various forums since 1994, and I've never seen anything quite like this. Every forum I've ever been a member of has attempted, with varying degrees of stringency, to avoid duplicate threads on a single topic. That way, somebody might actually read your post, whereas if you start a new thread on the same topic it is more often than not forgotten after a couple of replies. That way, there is a possibility for discussion, rather than shouting the same few points into the forum ether again and again. Not to mention that threads about other topics won't be pushed out of sight by the forum spamming.

It doesn't appear that the forum moderation here is lax, I just find its priorities to be unusual.

I would like to mention that if these threads didnt exist, there would just be the usual banter and whinings on the same old subjects.

Of course there's nothing wrong with it. I didnt say there was. Im just pointing it wouldnt be much better IMO. But maybe we should take the approach used by some in dealing with the bush signs: "Ignore them".

Well, of course there is a certain proportion of BS here, as you'll find on any forum. But I don't think that that justifies a black-and-white approach wherein there must be either no useless whining at all, or else we might as well let the useless whining take over the forum and push everything else off of the front page. I find quite a bit of interesting debate and useful information on this forum, and I suspect you find something of value, too, otherwise neither of us would be here.

I didnt say those 75ish threads should stay or go. Im not a forum mod here. Im just saying I'm indifferent to them. But I do find it very ironic to hear some people (not you) complain about the threads but then turn around and tell the people who complain about the signs to just "ignore them".

he has well over 68K meters of land, whats the tier payment on that?
as long as he pays his tier then LL is quite happy with anything he does.
now, if he doesnt sell ANY Of those plots he is paying tier on for a very long time he might go away because I think that thats a pretty HIGH tier payment?

anyone know how much 68k meters costs in tier?
now, one might wonder... DOES he have to pay tier? or does he have some corporation behind him paying the tier?
I would just try your best to ignore the signs, dont buy his land what ever you do, and dont sell him anymore land!

Fuzzy thoughts

68k meters is an entire region worth, putting him at at least $200/month.
strangely enough, i first offered to buy his small sign plot next door to me after he put one up right beside my skybox, but he declined to sell it even at an obvious proffit. they were marked for sale, but only to himself, and when i asked about that he said he "didn't want to accidently sell them". then i asked him nicely to remove the sign and he did, and he has since moved out of the sim. so...i'm not praising the signs or anything, but my experience seems to be much different from what i'm hearing out of everyone else about him trying to pull land proffit, though admitedly i haven't read all 70+ threads so fill me in if i'm missing something?
