i say we fight back against the bush guy and let linden labs know just how many are up set with the " bush guy"

what i am suggesting is save the below texture and up load it to second life and place it on your land or make your own sign that says "LL get rid of the bush guy " and place that on your land.
let your voice be heard let linden labs know your pissed and want them to do something

I am sure as a community as a whole we can place many more get rid of the bush guy signs out there then he ever could of his own. and send a clear message to linden labs

edit: i have placed two free to copy signs over my Gama land for any one to take a copy

i also have placed a classified add to make it easy for any one who would like to come and get there copy of the sign.

I don't think LL have the power to get rid of that Bush guy. You'd prolly have to lobby to have him impeached or something.

Maybe you should talk to Lazarus? You seem to have similar interests.

If you are pissed, vote with your money: quit SL. It'll probably work better.

I actually had the pleasure *snort* to see Lazuras at an event last nite. He insulted one of the owners and refused to leave until banned....then stood OUTSIDE of the event and harassed people. He FEEDS on this shit and was a total asshat. Everytime there's a thread about him he probably sees his name in lights.

If people are so eager to get rid of this Bush guy, why don't they all file an abuse report about him ? A few thousand should suffice to make LL move.

[Edit]
Damn, this joke has already been made above :o

please Kris i am not advocating people do what he does all i saying is to just put a sign on there land to let LL know that they are un happy with the situation.

maby its a good idea maby its a bad idea i don't know i am not an activist i am a simple person that thought this would send a message to LL if enough of the signs got out

I think Kris is joking and/or commenting on how your thread title (and sign) make it sound as though you want to get rid of Bush himself - not Lazarus. :)

Remember, though - LL do know we're unhappy. They also know that we are not yet in agreement as to how to handle the issue. Many, many of us believe that LL should not step in - that they should maintain their "we build the engine - you build the world" attitude.

Just as many others don't feel this way - but until we come to a clearer consensus I agree with LL's wait-and-see approach.

It might be more effective if we all placed the texture on top of large sign over our land so that it displayed on the map. It would work sort of like a 3D petition without affecting the surrounding landscape views.

As far as I know, textures don't show up on the map. You'd have to write it in prims, and the letters have to be a good 20m tall before they show up with any obviousness on the map, so I hope you've got a lot of land space and a few prims to spare.

It does if it's big enough. Put 10x10 prims in a big square and put your texture across all of 'em and it shows up on the map.

Maybe someone could put together a little script to auto-construct this and texture it and post it to the scripting forums or here with the key for an uploaded copy of crucials texture pre-coded and the texture resizing and offsets worked out? I'd do it but I'm not sure my distant memory of LSL is sufficient any more :p

Sure, it's a new form of griefing too, but what in SL can't be used for griefing? :p

Looks great. Be sure to set it to phantom so that people can fly through it.

All of this discussion gave me an idea. I am a RL coder but I have not coded much in SL. So perhaps the SL scripters can help. Here's the product idea:

When you deploy this script, it follows the boundaries of your current land building a wall that's a certain height with almost no width to it. The wall is comprised of phantom pieces that have one texture on the inside and invisible texture on the outside. So when you look from the outside in, you don't see anything but when you look from the inside out, you don't see any intrusive objects that might be placed next to your lot.

The script can also be set to sense if the owner is online and puts up the objects when the user is online.

The height should be user customizable.

The objects should all be within the user's parcel.
The fewest number of prims possible should be used AND no overlaps between the prims.

The covered sides of the prims (where one prim touches another) should be colored black to avoid any accidental lines appering between the prims. I noticed this on some builds more than others.

The script can take a jpeg and successfully segment it so that a single image can be displayed by several prims on one side of the property. As in I can set it to display a mountain lake picture, and it will make sure that when all the pieces on the left side of my property are created, each one displays enough of the picture to form the whole image. (this is somewhat optional -- I would be completely ok with no texture, black color and set to fully reflective. You pretty much get a sky view in all 4 directions this way.)

What do you think? Any coders that want to tackle the coding task?

I can't get with this program, much as I am practically salivating to.

And the reason is - I don't want them to get rid of the Bush guy.

I just want them to make him take down his signs.

So I can't participate, unfortunately.
