Hi ! I was approached by Lazarus about selling my 16m2 last week in Turnip. He bought up almost 20,000 m2 of land around my parcel (including other small neighboring plots) and is calling it Hyde Park. I had placed a small advertising cube (4mx4mx4m) with my company logo, but now its mostly obscured by planted trees. I guess I'm going to have to sell my land, but for how much? You, dear forum reader, can help! I'm going to put my land up for bid, if you're interested, post your bid here, and i'll close out the auction when it turns Jan 1, 2006, New Years.

To view the land, please IM me or go to Turnip (82,222).

Thank you for your time! :)
Dennis Albion

Bidding starts at 1 linden. Do I hear more?

Wow...I just looked at that plot, it's small, perfect for advertising. Did all those trees appear after you refused to sell to the person who offered to buy? Move your cube up above the trees. If he continues to obscure your advertisement then I'd abuse report him.

Also most of those trees are overlapping your plot so you could get the lindens to remove them.

If I was you, I'd keep your land and use the opportunity to protest.

Odd that he seems upset when people block his stuff, but he blocks a single small cube of yours.

I think its more than clear by now that his philosophy is something like "do unto others... as... you can get away with."

That is the funniest thing.

I think really the question is what does Lazarus ultimately want?

His was a very clever plan. But hopefully it will end with dear President Bush and his war mongers in the not to distant future. Regardless of whether Laz is a activist or extortionist. What then?

With a bit of luck we should erect a giant Impeach Bush sign as a monument to a happily gone day where someone smart played a loop hole, LL with suggestions fix it so it wont be replaced with bright pink signs and Lazarus goes off to his next endevour.

Isn't Second Life grand....

I'd use the land to create a giant sign saying "Re-elect Bush! End The two term limit!"

In flashing green, pink and orange.

Hardly, he'll just pick another protest base to use for his griefing fun. It's obviously fun for him to make people miserable. That's his plan and he's doing a fine job of it. Why would he stop just because Bush is no longer President? That has nothing to do with it.

Linden's World, Lazuras' Imagination. The rest of us don't factor.

Mr Albion sir, you are not thinking big enough. It may only be 16m2 but that is quite big enough to have a glowing, flashing cube that bounces up and down to make itself visible above any obstruction. You do, after all, have a right to free speech.

I'll beat them all, but you have to IM me in-world. I promise not to use it as a turnaround sale. As others can tell you, I'm in this for the long haul. I find this plot ripe with possiblity. :)

Let me know.

Congratz on the Boardman auction, Maxx, that was exciting to watch!

As for this auction, this is probably the only fair way to determine market value, i have no doubt you can win this one easily too if you wanted to. :)

Current bidding for Turnip (82,222) (16 m2) has been:

2000L Chase Hermes
1601L Bri Koolhaas
1600L Gabe Lippmann

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

You should post in the Linden Land Management forum (or make an abuse report) and request that the trees that grow over your land be removed!

On the other hand: I went to the location specified, and LOOOL :-))

I think you should only sell the land to a person who wows to make a 'highly visible free speech political statement' on that parcel :-)

Put up a spinning sign that says 'Impeach Lazars-ass' and set it for sale for 40k

See if he bites.

Not likely. He obviously doesn't care what the world looks like or what people think of him. This is really just too simple. Linden Lab is conducting a private project that needs the support of people that care about seeing it succeed. They've reserved the right to defend it against potential destroyers and they've excercised that right in the past. Now it's time for them to step up and do it again before (too late) this starts costing the project it's cashflow.

If you are into it that much, buy my plot

I own a plot next to Hyde Park in Turnip, it's for sale, 512 sqm with house for 11999 if you really want to be in the neighborhood.

It's in the land sales under Turnip.

Honestly if I had a plot dead center of one of his builds I'd put up a mockup of one of his signs on my land and put the price at 200,000L. Lets see how he feels about paying out that kind of cash for once.
