I'm still rather new here and don't want to complain BUT....these signs are everywhere. With the first 100+ that I saw I tried my best to ignore them so I bought land in places that didn't have them BUT now one of my stores is almost blocked from view because of these signs. It's not one sign but 8 of them around my store. I for one find these signs affensive. What is the point of bringing something like this into a game? and can it be reported as abuse? I can see if this person put a sign up like this on one plot of land but to have them all over the place in every open spot they can buy seems to be abusive to others. Not only does it look bad to the communities that they are in but the signs block the views of the stores, houses and beauty that is found in most areas of SL. I'm sure others are tired of looking at them too. So what can be done about it?

Unfortunately there's very little you can do about this shit. Lindens don't care, and it seems 99% of SL residents don't care either. I'm staging a one person protest in the winter expo, but all I get for that is flak because people just don't care enough to see what I'm trying to do. Buying yourself a private island and locking ourselves away from the rubbish that has become the main grid is about our only option these days.

Can someone make a 10x10x10 invisiprim that we can freely give out, so the center of the invisiprim is on our land but obscures the impeach bush signs?
Sure, its skirting the rules, but so is the asshole putting these everywhere. -Flip _____________________

/108/3b/76093/1.html /108/7c/75849/1.html /108/e9/74641/1.html ...and a bunch of others. So far it seems like LL is letting them stay - what you do on your own land is your own business as long as its within the TOS. Doesn't necessarily mean they aren't watching him like a hawk for when he DOES break the TOS. _____________________

Buying yourself a private island and locking ourselves away from the rubbish that has become the main grid is about our only option these days. I saw your Winter of Discontent! That was BEAUTIFUL! Is that what that was about? I can't afford a private island. Lazarus owns the mainland and will keep it and will grow. I don't know how he affords it all, but I do know that it is his. I can't pay 10,000 for 512 mm near me, or whatever the ridiculous prices he is asking for in my sim. I wrote Robin about it, and she said she would look into it. I think it is getting time where I save my family the money I am paying this game each month and tier down altogether. I figure they really don't mind, as long as he pays his tier, what he does with his land, or how he griefs or extorts people. It's the same money to them as mine is. I think I will contact him and see if he would like to buy my land at a bargain price. I might as well get something out of it. The game is his, and will stay that way, as long as he is around. You know, there is only so much banging your head against a brick wall a person can do. Bleh. So be it. This just isn't fun, this land thing with him. No use paying for something that is more headaches than it is fun. coco _____________________

I think I will make sign that says
"Blow Iraq Up To Stop The War" then give the signs out for free. I could even add some bling bling to them ![]() I am thinking of buying my own island and if I do this is the one thing that will not be allowed to happen. |

"Lazarus owns the mainland"
He owns it all? where don't he own land cause that's where I want to be or I may end up leaving this game because of him and so far I kinda like SL but this is becoming just a bit annoying. |

P.S. You could always rent your store locations, I highly reccomend Hiro Queso ![]() Ok you have to explain Hiro Queso to me cause I don't know what that means. I bought the 3 properties that I have to build stores and rent them out. But who would want to rent a store with signs like this all around it. I may be wrong about this but it seems to me that he puts these signs up when someone builds on the land next to his. Maybe he wants to buy it and hoping that I will sell it to him cheap. 2 of the lots are next to my lots and I was going to buy them both today. I got home from work, signed in to see that he bought them, placed the signs and jacked the price of the lots up to $20,000.00 it was originaly sold for $399.00 |

A more permanent fix would be for LL to allow us to hide stuff we find objectionable inside of our own viewer, like "right-click this and hide forever" kinda thing. |

In lieu of being able to "Hide" objects owned by avatars we could put on a list, this'd be the next best thing, IMHO ![]() _____________________

What customers see when either at a store or trying to get to a store will affect if they purchase or ever come back. The way things are around my store right now noone would ever want to come there. I don't even want to go there myself now! |

One thing to note is they ARE watching Laz. He was suspended for a spell, or at least didn't pay his bill for a few days, as he became un-Find-able. And he did violate the code the sims where there IS zoning (the "suburban" sims of Boardman and... Brown, right?) and got slapped down for it rapidly. (similarly, when he used his "full size" signs on 16 square meter parcels, he was forced to scale them down.)
In short, the Lindens do try to follow their own rules, by and large. The upshot is - from IM conversations with him, not to mention his interview in New World Notes - he's a cocky jerk, and that sort ALWAYS make a mistake eventually. _____________________

Im wondering if a polite IM to him asking him to remove or move signs from your view would help.... considering that it wont be done could that be considered harrassement then?

I politely IMed him to remove his signs, and got back a message basically saying "NO" and that it would be inappropriate to ask in the first place. |

I politely IMed him to remove my signs, and got back a message basically saying "NO" and that it would be inappropriate to ask in the first place. Here is the "polite IM" I had with him. I removed his name and replaced it with HIM cause I don't think we are suppoe to post other people's names but we all know who we are talking about. Lucie Doolittle: Hello - I have a question I am hoping you can answer HIM: Hello Lucy, how can I help you? Lucie Doolittle: I was just wondering what is the purpose of your signs? HIM: The purpose is to get people to think and discuss the horrible situation President Bush has gotten this country, and the world, into. HIM: Tens of thousands of deaths "liberating", as he puts it now, people who don't want to be liberated. HIM: What once was a "war against terror", a lie, has become a terrible quagmire with no plans for victory or exit. HIM: That's the purpose. Lucie Doolittle: this is a game not RL. Most people some to SL to "get away" from RL and have you brought the value of my property down with your signs Lucie Doolittle: not to mention you jacked the price of that tiny plot from 399 to 20000 Lucie Doolittle: and if you dont like the way this country is ran then I will be ahppy to help purchase a one way plane ticket to move you to any country of your choice HIM: Your quantification, most people, needs to be substantiated. I think you'll find that many people do not treat Second Life simplas as a game, but as a forum for creativity, interaction, and the exchange of ideas. Lucie Doolittle: SL is a game and things like this should not be allowed to enter it HIM: That's my opinion. Lucie Doolittle: everyone in this country has the right to their opinion but what you are doing is abuse to others HIM: If you wish to use SL as a game, you are welcome to do so. HIM: I disagree with you on that point, and so do the owners of this system, the Lindens. HIM: I appreciate you expressing your opinion to me. Is there anything more? Lucie Doolittle: agree or disagree is and opinion and everyone has the right to what every the fell but i spend my money to be a part of this game just like everyone here HIM: and I feel that you putting these silly signs up everyone you find a open spot is abisive to the others in the game HIM: Yes, just ike me. The world is large, and there's room for everyone. Lucie Doolittle: you have the right to your opinion but you are bringing the value of other peoples property down and the value of the game too HIM: How can something you call "silly" be "abusive?" That's a contradiction. Lucie Doolittle: because I have one small store and your 8 signs are blocking the view Lucie Doolittle: the signs were not there yesterday Lucie Doolittle: and you just bought that land HIM: Again, Lucie, that is your opinion. There is much content in SL. Much of what other people might call "bad" or "ugly," but it is all tolerated. HIM: You are correct. I buy land and mount signs every day. Lucie Doolittle: thats true but I don't want my stores next to your opinion so would you like to buy my land? HIM: I try to add one for every soldier, US or Iraqi who dies every day, but I'm having trouble keeping up. HIM: Well, Lucie, You sell your land on your own terms. As I make my rounds, if I come across a plot that is appropriate for my needs, I consider purchasing it. If your land ever fits the bill, I'll certainly consider buying it. Lucie Doolittle: again this is SL not RL but since you brought that up I must say when they sign on that dotted line they are signing to go to war. The free training and education is just a bonus HIM: I'm promarily interested in small scattered plots. HIM: Oh, I'm quite aware of the noble role of the soldier. I'm very aware of the risks and consequences of the millitart estate. However, I value every soldier's life so highly that I would obnly send a woman or man into harms way if there were a direct HIM: threat to my country. HIM: This is not the case, in my oppinion, in Iraq. Lucie Doolittle: whatever Im not talking about Iraq Im talking about Second LIfe Lucie Doolittle: Maybe you should seek treatment for the mental disorder you seem to have HIM: Thanks for your feedback Lucie. If you'd like to discuss this more at a later date, I'd be very happy to, but I'm in the middle of a meeting. I need to get ack to business. Lucie Doolittle: and for anger managment HIM: Thanks again. Lucie Doolittle: the 2 treatments may do you good Lucie Doolittle: have a nice day and happy holidays to you ![]() HIM: Enjhoy your Second Life, Licie. RESPECTFULLY yours, Lazarus Divine. I am just so aggrivated about this guy. He has made my cute little store all ugly ![]() Sorry about the last few comments I made to him but he is a weirdo and needs help. He don't seem to be able to see the difference of RL and SL and I just find that a bit weird. |
