Many discuss what Linden Labs should do about it.
Many discuss what SL Citizens should do about it.
I'm done discussing.
This is my solution given the "tools" available to us as TOS abiding SL Citizens.
1) E-mail LL with your complaints. Word such e-mails politely and intelligently. Do NOT become abusive. Abusive wording will find your message deleted and disregaurded. Word with fact, not feeling.
2) File Abuse Reports for griefing on every "sign" you encounter if, in your personal opinion, said "sign" violates the TOS statement on griefing. Be concise and informative without any personal views other than you believe it violates the TOS griefing statement.
3) Continue to post complaints and debates here in the forums. Let LL know we still wish them to do something. Again, make your posts polite and intelligent.
4) DO NOT BUY these small land plots at thier inflated prices. No matter how annoying they become on your land, do NOT give in to what many call "extortion".
5) DO NOT SELL your land beside these micro plots. This is again giving into the "extortion".
6) Inform others of what these "signs" are doing to our would, and advise them of the actions above. Tell newbies so they know. Inform landowners near these signs not to give in.
What this can accomplish:
A) Linden Labs will continue to see that a vast majority of thier customers are unhappy with the service. "The customer is always right." While nothing can force LL to do anything they do not wish, I imagine the constant, legally submitted, reminders that we, thier customers, are unhappy is about as annoying to them as the "signs" are to us.
B) While some say that the person behind these "signs" may be enjoying the fame(infamy), if none purchases this land, this person can enjoy all the cost of maintaining the tier. They may be perfectly willing to do so, but then again, perhaps not.
As you can see, the gains are not great. This may accomplish nothing. Calling for banning, or technological fixes from Linden Labs has appeared to fall on deaf ears, however, so we must work with the "tools" they have given us.
