I will attack real sexism whenever and wherever I see it. I will not support flimsy accusations of sexism to bolster somebody's short term debate needs. It's as humilating to my gender as crying ... it may help win the battle but it takes a terrible toll on the war.

That's fine, Aimee. Then again, he hasn't been calling you shrill, has he?

I don't need any short-term debate gender. I'm tired of him calling women "shrill." End of story.

As for crying, I don't find that humiliating for either men or women.

Calling someone shrill, while not pleasant, is no different than calling them whiny/annoying. How is any of that sexist? If I call a woman annoying, am I being sexist? No. Don't hide behind gender, race, or anything else - it is about the person.

Sorry, Cristiano, this word has long been used against women, and you just can't change that history.

Trying to get this doomed thread back on topic, I don't think WF really understood what LL was able to provide, and once they figured out that a) we're insane, b) LL is small potatoes compared to a world bank, and c) the client/server can't be hacked apart on a whim, they went elsewhere.

lol @ a)!

I can't get that link to work, Memir.

I never said I was the only one to have a right to an opinion about sexism. You said that.

I calls em like I sees em, and that I do have a right to do. As a woman I think you would probably be seeing it the same way if you had been on the receiving end of it.

I am a woman. If I was to be called "shrill," I would see it as a generalized insult, not a sexist comment. This isn't exactly like having a man make dozens of non-squitor references to your panties.

I am very interested in the original topic of this thread, but I'm too busy today to wade through all this other crap in order to find if there's anything else relevant. This really sucks.

This has to be one of the worst examples of how 2 trolls can completely throw off a discussion about something potentially interesting and important for the sake of hearing themselves type and stirring up crap. I cannot believe this has become an argument about semantics. Unbelievable.

I don't usually encourage people to use the AR button but this is getting really pathetic. They ought to be a shame.

You seeing it as sexist does not make it sexist. You could take the word emotional as sexist too, or hysterical - it does not make the words, or their usage sexist.

It’s close to midnight and something evil’s lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes,
You’re paralyzed

’cause this is shriller, shriller night
And no one’s gonna save you from the beast about strike
You know it’s shriller, shriller night
You’re fighting for your life inside a killer, shriller tonight

Wow, you're helpless. I even gave you the exact inputs to use. But I'll do your work for you. :)

Here are all the instances in which I have used the word "shrill" or a derivative, not counting instances in this thread:

Let me know if you need me to do any other heavy-lifting.

Enabran using the word shrill to speak generally about forum credibility:

/120/19/51032/1.html#post540477/120/19/51032/1.html#post540477

Here he refered to DogSpot as shrill, while also referring to DogSpot as he in the same thread:

/120/1a/62762/8.html#post656348/120/1a/62762/8.html#post656348 (refers to Dogspot as shrill)
/120/1a/62762/7.html#post656312 (refers to Dogspot as he)

Here he calls Cocoanut shrill:
/120/2d/64600/4.html#post676118/120/2d/64600/4.html#post676118

Here he speaks generally about shrillness again:

I would call anyone acting hysterical just that - and I have seen women and men act both overly hysterical and overly emotional. NONE OF IT IS SEXISM. It really sucks when people take something and try to make an issue where there is none.

As others have stated I'd have seen it for exactly what it was a generalized insult based on tone, not gender. As you have every right to your opinion (however much a fallacious contrivance I might find it) I have every right to find said fallacious and contrived "chauvinist card play" offensive and as pathetic as it really is.

I don't know that that's much of a case, Cristiano. No sir. I don't know how I can argue that I'm using "shrill" as a sexist remark using such flimsy evidence. Oh wait, that's them. I'm not arguing that at all.

That's all well and good but show me where one man has called another hysterical in these forums.

No I'm afriad that privilage is reserved for just the women.

That's not sexist? I think it is.

Great, now go start a thread about it in off topic. So we can get back to discussing Second Life.

Have a nice day :)

Ask and ye shall receive:

Here we have Chip Midnight calling Chris Wilde hysterical:

PS - and for the bonus round, I have a woman calling another woman hysterical:

Here we have Katja Marlowe, a woman AFAIK calling Cocoanut hysterical:
