Actually, they claim adult material only makes up 2-4% of the content in SL Hardly "swamped" with it. They're doing what most Americans seem to do - dumbing the place down to protect the idiots who can't turn the other cheek. (And before I get in trouble for American-bashing, I AM one) When people can't take responsibility for their own actions (if you don't like a place, don't visit it!), it forces others to think they have to do it for them.

What if someone doesnt have a credit card? What if someone doesnt have a way for age verification that doesnt involve faxing and mailing a copy of something to someone else? I dont have a credit card nor do I have a checkcard to verify my age. It seems sorta obscure to me that the ones who are responsible adults have to pay for bring an adult and responsible.

The only person who thinks SL is completely about sex is YOU. What we're trying to say is that SL should be a place where people can be able to do whatever they like, including sex, without restriction or judgement. It is an 18+ online virtual world, and it's only for adults. We're all mature adults here and thus should be able to all be in the virtual world together and just work together and get along. There is no need to separate us all and push the "sex industry" to the corner. That's not what this is about, I'm not the 'sex industry', I'm just a person who doesn't mind having some erotic fun in my virtual club occasionally with some guests.

The things are not so easy to sort out, many people are involved in "adult" stuff, and not all wanna go to a "red light disstrict", thats embarresing. What is with the RP sims for example, like Gor, most are violent, sure its not on mainland. But all adult content sims have to flag and to restrict access, only age verifyed avies may enter. And a lot of us dont want to give any personal datas...that could mean a mass exodus of people!
They take her time and her money with. Means a lot of sellers will loose a lot of business.
Even the sellers not offering adult content.

Next is, everybody leaving can pull his friends with to other internet places. SL community will loose more and more members, they take thier L$s with also...

All can go down in a SL economy crises...landprice can decrease, for example and so on...

That is the overwhelming view of ANY technology by someone who doesn't understand it. Ask anyone what the Internet about who has not embraced it, and he or she will likely tell you it's full of porn and pedophiles and has no redeeming qualities. Such is life. There are, however, at least 70 thousand people logged on right now who, regardless of what SL may be for the media-spoonfed, believe it is for them.

Whoever doubts/denies that SL is being used by people to make $ with porn and sex services, doesn't have enough traffic or never checks profiles.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who have RL explicit photos in their profiles and offer all kind of sex services, voice and camera included. I assume their customers are taken away from SL for this, and how do they pay? I have no idea, but some advertise their rates in lindens, some profiles also have web links to pages where I assume they have other methods of payments.

Since we are cleaning up the house; maybe we also need a 'report' button on profiles, so when we press on that someone at LL checks the profile and see if this is going on or not. Don't we have enough with SL photos of prostitutes? Though in my book is almost the same thing.

LL says 2-4 % is Adult oriented? Doesn't sound like that translates to porn everywhere you look to me. Unless you are looking for porn, than I guess you could find it every YOU look.

I've been in SL for 5 years and I KNOW that is NOT what SL is about. Never has been and never will be. As has been stated many times by many including Lindens the "adult content" comprises only a VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE of SL.
