How can i hide sexual content? Is there a way to mute everyone but a select few? Is there a code that can make everyone else appear clothed? Please help.

Stay out of the Adult areas - only go to PG sims

Your best bet would be to search for a PG region. no need to make everyone disappear, there are 100s of places you will feel comfortable =)

Try searching for The Shelter. =)

Ok we can tell you're not new here :D

But to answer seriously, I think it's a bit too much to ask for the browser to try to analyze the avatar's textures to see if they have nipples or something

That used to happen quite a lot, everyone looked like a small woman, now it's more of a cloud effect but less frequent.

you can make everyone invisible and disappear on your viewer by doing:

ctrl-alt-shift-4

Yes, in fact there is.

The command is Ctrl-Q.

Sure, feel free to talking a programmer into making a viewer that mutes everyone who's not on your Friends list (and/or another list you maintain in the modified client).

When someone is muted, you can't see what they type, and their avatar is rendered as a gray silhouette.

Other options exist. I bet it would be possible to render every "unauthorized" avatar in the same skin and clothing. Being more selective than that (e.g., leaving their faces unaltered but changing their clothing) would be trickier.

You'd still run the risk of seeing objectionable content inworld, either due to object shapes, textures or behavior. You could probably have unauthorized avatars rendered as clouds to obscure their behavior, if you wanted to go that far.

Good luck finding someone interested in doing this work. I think you're better off staying in PG areas.

+1 for The Shelter.

Then try Command-Q, and keep in mind that when we say "control", that means "command", and "alt" means ... um ... that other key. "Option", I think.

"command" means the apple or clover/propeller key.

... Get the joke now?

the only way to avoid things you object to online is to stay offline.

Much like the only way to avoid things you object to in the real world is to stay home in the closet with a teddy bear so the closet monsters don't get ya

Sometimes the cost of being free to do whatever you like, is the risk that someone else doing whatever they like might offend you.

That IMO is a minor cost for freedom.

If you would like to enjoy the Second Life without all the other Residents, this is what you need:

http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page

This will give you the same environment as Second Life, without anyone else being in it except you and whoever you invite. It's open source and completely free.

Bye, now. :)
