Log-In Problems

You know, I just found another game that I'm going to start playing. It's called "Real Life". I think taking my $20/month that I spend on "Second Life" would be better spent as a bar tab in RL.

And for those that are in the $200/month range...well...jeez people, come on. There are better ways of meeting people and making money. Take a class. Teach someone to read. Go for a walk.

"Second Life" is only a game. "Real Life" is exactly that. Maybe this login glitch is simply the Universe's way of telling us all to get a real life.

When I posted that, I forgot to refresh so I didn't see the part about the school zone and whatnot. Other than that, go really late at night and drive to your nearest forest! I agree, Spring. And at the risk of being accused again of spamming, I'd like to mention that we're trying to form the Second Life Users Union. When you get on, join the group. We're having our organizational meeting on Wednesday at 6 PM PDT.

We hope to get many of the large landowners into the group so we will be a force for the Lindens to contend with.

I've played tons of online games and SL has, by far, the worst bugs/screwups of all, but for some reason, I still play it......hmmmmm

You do realize that SL isn't just a game, right? It can act as the ultimate retreat from RL when stressed out people who already have a life can come in, and relax, laugh, and go completely crazy and unleash the creativity that's all bottled up after working all day.

It's like one of those little stress toys, but about 150 times more effective. And what happens when somebody comes home from a stressful day, waiting to get on SL, to get an escape from their lives, and... it's down. Suddenly, they are w/o a peaceful stress reliever, and this thread is what you get. People relieving their stress in the form of complaints and bitching.

Everyone has a right to vent their frustrations here. I have been patient for 6 hours now trying to log into the game. My patience is finally wearing thin.

I have only been able to log in two times this week, while trying to each night. The first time, I was in less than 30 minutes before a tp bug got me. Second time was at 1:30 am Saturday morning-I had to log not long after because I could not stay awake. I wore myself out trying to get in the game all night

I own a place where people get married. Four times this week, I have missed appointments and events scheduled in advance because of log in issues. Tonight, I am missing a wedding that was scheduled many weeks ago. So yes, I am angry. People paid me for a service which I have not been able to provide as expected, and what was planned for weeks. Also, I was paid for this service. Is LL going to provide Lindens to me or anyone else who misses many events they are supposed to be hosting while these problems continue? Of course not. I think it is fair to be reimbursed for this somehow, as it has gone on for longer than a day. It has been at least a 4-5 day problem for me and counting.

Lucky for me, the bride, groom, minister, and my partner were finally able to log in and from what I hear, the wedding was beautiful. Unfortunately, I missed it and they did not get all of the services which were expected and paid. Luckily, a good friend of mine in game is doing her best in my place. However, it is absurd that there are no updates on the situation, that it will not be resolved until Tuesday at the earliest, and that only an average of 1500 people have been able to get in game tonight at the same time.

I am married to a programmer in rl and he says this is ridiculous, but not shocking and LL needs to get their priorities straight. If you continue to add new codes and new items to a program already riddled with multiple problems instead of fixing what you know is already wrong, these types of problems will become the norm, not the occasional issue. We are obviously seeing this result, since for months, every time a new version is released, more problems come with each release. So LL, please get your act together and fix what you know is wrong before concentrating on and adding a ton of new stuff to the game and causing more problems!

I have been struggling with the waiting in the queue thing for 40 mins or so for a few days now, but today it has got ridiculous, 3 hours and counting, is anyone else getting all the 'something unforeseen' etc error messages? cos I know I was not getting em yesterday even tho i still had a wait. Is the log in server working AT ALL?!?!?

Complaning aint gona salve a thing if LL lose members they lose money there faults but if this is true it should be a patch or fix on tuesday so i wont be conplaining like other people said get some rest watch tv lookin at ur pc screen all day looses ur brain cells and gives u headaches for some people but if people leave LL loses money and the people that left lost there friends

Kirby's got the answer to all of your problems. Spending 50 to 200 dollars a month for a game is retarded, you people have no life what so ever outside the game and you know for a fact its true. You ask why am i here? its simply entertaining to hear so much bitching, you guys have sat here and bitched since i i first looked at this post. and as i see it i have a couple hours to burn before poker night starts up so im going to sit on my ass.

Click 'connect' and then minimize your screen. Wait a few minutes and you are in!! This is the third time it's worked for me since last night. Its works 1 in 3 times, so try it again if it doesn't work the first time.

maby people that pay monthely could probably get a rebate or cash back or cash takin off u just have to conplain i no SL have bugs its still in beta but it is the most inavative game out there u can make ur own person make ur own clothes u can make anything and if u no how to scripted ur creations can come to life i give it a 10/10 but the bugs should be gone this just started happening the login error but it might be fixed on tuesday yall had abunch a fun when it wasent like this i no yall did cause i did so just be patecient

Its none of your busness what or how I spend my rl money to be perfectly honest.

Tell me, exactly how many peple are in this "group?" It better be over 1,000 people because otherwise nobody at LL cares. All the people that want to leave will do is to pass on their land to another generation of newbies who claim that a small group of people can change LL's employee's work schedules or priorities.

Also, if you want things to get done, saying... "Get off your asses and get this fixed" won't do anything, only annoy people and cause threads to get ever bigger with hate and words. Go ahead, make fun of me, yell at me, make posts with poor grammar and majorities of caps, just realize that you have not even experienced a true downtime, ones that last a week for EVERYBODY, not just most or you. If all you people are tearing at the seams now, what would happen then?

Will you all march up to the doors of LL and demand service? No. Would you do that anywhere else? No. Hell knows we are all lazy Americans or people in other countries who don't want to cough up the money for a plane ticket just to meet a few people at the street corner in the middle of the night. Well here's an idea. Go ahead, sell your land so people can buy it out at low prices from a land release. You'll only help us.

While your at it, take that money and take a visit to LL. Maybe THEN you'll realize that it's a business with PEOPLE. Not machines catering your every whim like a vending machine. People need sleep, food, water, and air just like you. No, they don't need to stand 5 feet from eachother and type on a keyboard to talk, they don't fly, they don't open their mouths and have speech bubbles come out, and no, they definitely can't make little fuzzy balls fly out of their hands to create shapes and morph then to their liking.

ultimate retreat? soo cybering with other men dressed as women, fake dancing at a club to cyber with more men dressed as women and buying wangs is relaxing? thats all i ever see SLers do and thats why ill stay in Jessie. Try fishing, it costs about 15 bucks and your in for the whole year.
