I've been sitting here in SL for 15 hrs straight, Morris box is desolate at the moment, such a great time to get some work done I agree with you Davy, I have only had login in problems since my Saturday morning (I'm from Australia), but yes, like all I am visited by the Lag Monster on a regular basis. While I feel for you Premium account holders out there, it is pointless to resort to mud slinging and threats to leave SL. The platform is growing at such a phenomenal rate, that one must expect there to be problems. Granted, some things should have been sorted out and debugged by now, but with all that peole want to see and do, I think that LL is doing a wonderful job. I certainly would never threaten to leave, although I do get frustrated at the lengthy log in wait, maybe I am a true addict, I will never leave. As I have posted before, patience is a virtue.

From: Davy Flytrap Yes it is a professional organisation but ALL organisations have to have some downtime to upgrade systems, repair systems and sometimes even replace systems.
So people please, give them a break...you should actually be happy with what you have..its better than NOTHING!
Regards, Dave Actually, right now what most of us have is actually -nothing- And.. do you get free tier for such thankless, (and seemingly groundless), support of Linden Labs? Do bear in mind they are a commercial company, surely they should be paying someone to do what you're doing. Maybe they should be paying you. And something else to add.. how can you say that it's the small number of idle users taking up all the memory and processing power? Have you actually seen the number of clients currently connected to SL? It's really not that high.

No! no one is paying me to say this, i just dont want to see a good online virtual environment go down, not when there are already thousands of players. Come one think about it, if you were in the hands of the CEO, how would you feel? If it were me i would feel stressed to the max, angry and i would probibly force myself to be doing all-nighters almost every night. Say if you were a games developer, think about how much coding would go into just coding a small finger, what maybe 300, 400 lines of code? So come on!

Robin with all due respect I didn't have any log in issues till yesterday. I am left asking my self why am I paying for an island if I can't get to it. I think a refund is in order for those of us who cant get to our land based on how much we pay ll per month. This is rediculous every other weekend there are log in issues and im sick of it.

The reason its every weekend is because people arent working then (well a lot more people arent working then) and then they have more time to come on SL if they can get in.
I just realised something too.. When the logins are working, hardly anyone comments on how good SL is. The only problem at the moment is the logins but do you see what im getting at?
Come on people, calm down take a break from the computer (just like i will be in about 10 mins since its 2:30am GMT).

Martin I'm also wondering why I'm paying for an island right now, and also wondering why issues this important aren't being addressed immediately. Even Adelphia cable (no snickering now, I have no choice there) offers credits when service is disrupted, IF you ask for them. Well, I"m asking.

I haven't experienced the login problems until yesterday....slow loging then, today it is much much worse. Since 5:30pm Central I've been trying to log in, and at the time of this posting it is 8:30pm. I was able to log in earlier, but experienced some problems with teleporting (a problem that has been ongoing for a few days off and on.)
Sure hope LL gets the problem fixed soon....

Dave Dave, take your own advice and YOU take a break from ripping on everyone who complains here. We have every right to be heard, and to bitch as loud and as long as we want. We pay for this "service", and we have a right to expect a professional response and prompt action.

Apparently Davy isn't hearing me, I haven't been able to connect since yesterday. A far cry from 10 min.
I wouldn't bitch about 10 min. I would however bitch about 2 days. Oh wait a min. I am bitching about 2 days. DUH.

As i said before. Do you buy a car and can't drive it? Do you buy a loaf of bread at the store and can't eat it? Quite simply put.. no matter what you pay or don't pay it is still services that are paid for and ARE NOT being rendered. And most of all the lack of response from the Lindens except for the ONE post by Robin at the beginning of this thread is unacceptable.

You should get what you pay for
05-14-2005 18:48
It's not mudslinging to expect to get what you paid for. If your phone went out for three days, would you expect to have to pay the bill for it? The premium members here are paying some pretty hefty land use fees. The least the Lindens should do is to deduct how many days this goes on from each of their bills.

Lol this is really funny if you go on the test verison of 1.6.5(2) there is about six people online and you can only see about a strip of land on the world map Just a funny thing to see SL is dead right now

Trying for 2 hour and a half so far, and i got tired... i am going to sleep.
Two messages from Lindens I want to point out: - Problems with log-in because of update 1.6.5 - Update 1.6.5 tentatively scheduled for Tuesday
1+1 = 2... which means problems to log-in till next Tuesday (tentatively).
I really think Lindens should find a way to compensate us for this. We are paying for a service we can't use as we should.
