Robin Linden - "I'm sorry people are having problems logging-in. It's not your computer. There are some fixes in the works, but they won't be deployed until the next patch (1.6.5).
Until then, the best thing to do is keep trying, and wait until you're returned to the log-in screen to try again. Our apologies -- we know this is a huge problem. " Why wait till (1.6.5) ? we pay for this game and this is the treatment we recieve? as i read elsewhere in forums (forgotten by who sorry) THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THERE.... TSO.... and come to think of it ANY online game at least lets you in..... come on Lindens give us what we paid for or at least give us a refund!!!! |

ISLAND SIM FOR SALE
Plenty of enjoyable lag, edit tools don't work as expected and inventory frequently disappears. Frequent messages "wait..and due to our best efforts we're lame and suck" are included at no extra charge along with zero tech support! Is a very beautiful place (when and if you can log in to enjoy it). All of this and more can be yours if the price is right. Only $995.00 setup fee and $200.00+ per month! Woot! THIS ACTUALLY ISN'T TOO FAR OFF OF MY FEELINGS ABOUT ALL OF THIS B.S. *sigh, I guess I'll keep trying until i get sick of it and go play something else. Is too bad LL's doesn't take care of issues first and features second. What kind of priority system is in place with these people anyways? All the features on the planet are useless if you can't login to use them. |

Since CNet always reports on SL and their success (the links are posted on SL's home page), I sent the editor a letter asking him/her to report on the login issue(s) too.
Send them an email too. Get their email address at: http://news.com.com/2040-1096_3-0.html?tag=ne.ft.si.tip |

Funny
05-14-2005 15:26
Funny to see howmany people actually think the same as i do. I never spook to them but they all say the same. Why get all those extra features if you got problems with the actual program? Why streaming video if you dont have enough servers or the bandwidth to provide it???. And have you seen the actuals things getting updated??? Who wants another "nice snapshot" in the flipping library????? Like i will ever use it, what good is that gonna do.
&*^$*^$*)&#E thats what i think. And fixing performance problems with certain Quicktime media streams. Just take that crap out. BTW just noticed the time on the forum. If its supposed to be GMT you are an hour behind ![]() |

BTW just noticed the time on the forum. If its supposed to be GMT you are an hour behind ![]() Yeah, Why is the support forum in GMT and the game in PST? makes absolutely no sense to me. But anyway. I digress... Logged in after 4 - 5 hours of trying - FINALLY. then a friend wanted to test a new gun out - so I let him, which kicked me across 5 sims - no big deal right? Well.. it was. My attachments were gone, and apparantly no one could see me after I went back to my parcel. So, I had to log back in - and now apparantly I get to wait another 4 - 5 freaking hours to log back in. So someone send me an invite to join this union if I ever get logged back in. |

...what do you expect
this kind of work ethic has been going on since they started getting all of your guys money. when your getting paid by people that are addicted to a game (so much that even some of them pay over 100 dollars a fucking month, thats more then my car insurance and telephone bill alone) they tend to stop giving a shit. What are you guys going to do about it anyways?? stop playing the game?! yea fucking right. So 99.9 percent of you will still be paying crazy amounts of money, take several kicks in the face by the lindens and will wait all damn day for that chance to log on. Funny how you are the person with the buck in your hand and your getting kicked around by the person thats taking it from you. Lindens are the reason i would never pay monthly for this game. there tech support is a bunch of BS. there live help in game is biased and dont even do there job...which is to help people. They wont change because its not hurting there buisness. They dont have to fight for your buck like other games such as WWiiol. |

If we organize we can get thier attention. If they will not give us a refund for the down time we can set up picket lines and the entrance for newbies and pass out notecards listing the problems the site has.
Also, stage a massive letter writing campaign to the sites and magazines that have given them favorable write ups. |

For info, I logged in OK after about 20 mins of being returned to the logon page. Each attempt took between 1-2 minutes to time out, so I probably tried about 15 times.

Tiering down
05-14-2005 15:57
Well this is the second time I'm witnessing a good friend tiering down.
I guess when people start paying 200/month they start expecting a certain level of service. Here... everybody is treated equally... whether you pay a premium fee monthly or are a freeloading basic (I've been a freeloading basic, its good) Today I'm at the US$125/month... I must not be as annoyed as my friends who pay US$195/month, because I'm not destroying everything I've ever built, or marking all my land as up for sale. I just tried to convince her to call customer service, and at least talk to somebody, but she doesn't believe the lindens care. I believe the lindens care. But I'm not convinced that they're responding appropriatly. There is a huge communication problem. We need to hear more from the Lindens. Maybe we need more than 1 linden to communicate with the total population. Maybe we need an interface to call a Liason when we can't get in. I got in fairly early this morning without too much trouble... but I've crashed, and had more trouble, but finally got in again, and now after crashing out again, I'm writing this while I wait to push the Connect button a few more times.... I can't even try to convince my friend not to bail on SL, because as I was trying to, SL crashed me out again. I'm afraid I won't be very convincing when I finally do get back in... If she's even still there to be convinced. A preview online who knows if that's not causing the problem... Fixed tuesday? Maybe. But I find people who really care about this game, care so much that they can't take the anguish that long. Again, maybe it has to do with the high tier. With this much on the line I wish I thought that somebody would/could decide to accelerate whatever fix is in the works. |

For me tier is not the issue.. whether you pay 200$ per month or 0$ per month is no matter. Everyone should be able to log on to this game and LL's should fix existing issues before worrying about any new features. Just my opinion.. This is absolutely rediculous. Tier amounts don't mean anything.. of you pay.. you pay.. Do you buy a car and cannot drive it??

Not poo-poo'ing your suggestion, but as a word of advice, people will take you and your efforts more seriously when you don't spam the same announcement 5 times in the same thread. If you want to convey a semblence of professionalism, I wouldn't start off by going against common Internet forum ettiquite as well as this forum's own rules. |

Damn, what a time for this Saturday of course, been over a couple of hours for me here since I could log in. Its like the one time of the week I can actually play this game and its broken again. Maybe they should hold back on making new continents and make sure that their servers work correctly first.........
