I don't know which animations in particular you are talking about. I have not read this entire thread, someone just told me about it. However if this is revolving around the animations in the Promenade dance machines I created then I am solely to responsible for it.

I acquired them for free from a yard sale and was under the impression they were free. I bundled them in the dance devices with the same permissions I got them with. They were "bundled free animations" and not what was being sold. The dance machine is what was being sold.

At least half of the dances I have the original source material from, which I am sure was not created by you, Mr. Midnight. They were not free but are also not IP of Mr. Midnight. I will pay you the upload fees for the animations plus 10K for you to just stop your complaining. It is not my fault your items ended up in a yard sale because of a glitch in the system. And I am sorry it happened to you, I would be upset if it happened to me too. However, I would be much more sympathetic if your animations were actually original works.

If this is solely what you are upset about then all issues should be addressed to me and not to Jenna.

Thank you

new twist, just when the thread was getting old, Mr. Midnight

I can completely understand you not wanting to wade through 6 pages of this thread. The dances bundled with the dance machine are not the ones in question.

Pretty funny, people have been threatening AR and trying to get IP bans etc...

Ironically it seems to be people who have already been IQ banned

Hi you obviously donot know how to read the TOS for you so let me sum up what IS true about this game kthnx

From: ME
It does NOT matter that this is a game, people make it their business . There ARE rules that people must abide by.One is the COPYRIGHT law with is stated IN the TOS. A creator has the rights to their online content, they can choose to sell/give away items.

If a user takes a already FREE item and sells it as their own without permission from the creator that is breaking the law.

Game content is owned and maintained by the owners of the game. If the company so wishes to give their clients rights to the content that they create then the copyright law is in effect.Users who take free items and sell for profit are stealing. If you donot have permission from the creator to sell and give royalties to them or buy the item outright then you infringe the copyright law.It IS stated in the TOS that that LL gives creators rights to their items.

It's callec common sense, those of you that obviously donot understand the laws need to rethink what you are saying.ANY game has rights to their material,to steal and sell the content is infringment.

I'm sure the people that want to say that this is just a game need to understand and grasp the fact that this "game" is also a business where you not only can create and sell items, but gain REAL currency from said items being sold.

It's obvious you haven't read this thread, as I said, this has nothing to do with your dance device. It is about Jenna selling items in a vendor. Please, by all means, explain how Ferran's stuff is in there, how Ace's stuff is in there, how items from a variety fo people who have never given anything to Jenna or yourself somehow constantly have to ask you to stop?

You were hardly pleasant when I asked you to remove the items you were giving away. You told me I should be happy for the publicity. Well there you go, you and Jenna should be happy for the publicity that this will bring upon you. If you have the same source material and purchased it legitimately, then more power to you - I did not want anything with my name associated with your product, or with Jenna. Thanks for complying.

Good job! You hit #3b AAAAAND....

A NEW ENTRY!

Revamped list of excuses for selling other people's work:

1. You are nice to people.
2. Other people do it too.
3. Its just pixels so you don't have a right to be upset.
3b. The problem is with the permissions in SL, not the person that takes advantage of the glitches
4. I personally have never seen them do it, so that nullfies any statement to the contrary made by people who HAVE been ripped off.
5. Some wierd conglomeration of blind loyalty, lack of empathy, and KEEPIN' IT REAL
6. I have my doubts as to how much work you actually put into your product, and until you prove it to me personally, you don't have a right to complain when someone resells it.

GOOD JOB!

Not a game

David Linden: Actually, I believe that SL is not a game at all.
David Linden: Games can be part of the SL experience and we need to be much better at communicating what SL is.
David Linden: If we position SL as a game, those that are new may not get it.

Donot place the blame on the creators for her illegal actions. It is as I have said 90328490823 times copyright infringement!

If I buy a walkman in Walmart and sell it at my yardsale that is not illegal
nor copyright infringement.

If I buy a Rolling Stones CD from a store and sell it at my yardsale
that is not illegal nor copyright infringement either.

If a friend gives me either of the above items and I sell them in my yard
sale there is nothing wrong with that.

If I find those items on the side of the road, nothing is wrong with selling
them either.

How is this different? If I aquire an item in SL (free or paid for), I should
be able able to sell it or give it away (as long as the item is "trans" -- which
is EXACTLY the mechanism creators already have to stop this from happening
if they do not want the new owner to have those freedoms)

I think I'm developing a crush here.

new twist, just when the thread was getting old, Mr. Midnight

There is no new twist - the entire thing is about Jenna's sale of items, many of them free, in her vending machines.

Many animators in SL use motion captured sources for dances, that are then edited, looped, and have problems corrected on them before they can be brought into SL for use. This is hardly a secret. Again, if Ms. Rosencrans feels that she can just bring them in herself, why does she need to use someone else's stuff?

as for the animations yes they were all removed and she said sorry to christian about this long ago if he finds it in a vendor forsale she removes it and did apologies and you know this your just trying to bring up an old arguement that was resolved long ago

as for the other animations again when she was informed they were removed end of story but you continue you go on cause you just like to hear yourself. many of you have nothing to do with this and want to post to brinng up a point that was resolved on page 2.

jade jensen thanks for stating the same shit that was on the last 13 pages why dont you go back to bumping peoples creations down on new products page to keep your creations on top as your known for doing.

chirstian go back to selling the dances that are out there for free you not even putting them out as freebies your selling them for 200-300 each and they weere removed months ago

the rest of you who are also posting cause you want to look special need to move on

lmao...isn't it FUN how people attempt to lash out with unrealistic kindergarten responses when they know they're wrong & have lost? they have nothing intelligent to say, so it's their way of *taking their toys and going home* Thanks for the gratification :)

Dear, your ability to deny is not in question. I responded to you with a clear description of the problem, there are animations being sold without the permission to resell and it is not the first time. If you don't want to believe that, fine - but I am afraid that it would be you who would not be seeing reality.

But if you bought a Mickey Mouse poster at Disney Land, or was given the same for free, and THEN you put it in a scanner and made COPIES of it and then sold the copies - Disney would be on your ass like white on rice.

You bring up some excellent points. I will do my best to address them

Mostly it hinges on the ability to make endless copies. You can't make a copy of the Walkman. If you make additional copies of the Rolling Stones CD and sell them you are violating copyright.

That's exactly why content creators would like to be able to better set resale permissions. I would have no problem selling clothes as resale if I could set a maximum price. That would prevent unethical people selling my work for more than I sell it for.

I'm sure other people can speak more cogently to this issue, which is why it's good to do it in a thread. Oh, and thanks for giving such excellent original examples, it made it much easier to compare apples to apples.
