Game or not (and LL disagrees with your reminder), we are afforded intellectual property rights for original creations we make within or import into SL. That means if Ferran makes her own animations, no one else in SL is entitled to sell them, without permission. They are protected. All the ad hominem attacks and non sequitur justifications in the world won't change that. By the way, I assure you Cory's grasp of the English language is firmly intact. Try addressing the issue. I think it is human nature not to want other people to profit from what you meant as gifts. It cuts down on gift giving. That attitude is FAR from the "I help as much as I can" attitude you are trying to portray. If you are giving away an item for free, then GREAT! You lose nothing if another person sells 10 or 100 copies. You can still give away all you want, and feel good that you even helped another person to gain some $L ! If another person sells an item you are giving away, then it's only your actions of being childish and packing it up, that cuts down on the gift giving. Digital is different. We retain copyrights even on free things. The GPL is a copyright too... it says you can give away as much as you want for free.. OR you can sell as much as you can. The creator still holds a copyright. Holding the copyright on something you set to "copy and trans" does not give you the right to pursecute people for doing what they want with their copy. If you do not want it spread around, then set "no trans" and/or "no copy". Problem solved. I specifically want people to have "fair use" of stuff I create, but I don't want my name attached to a rip off. This could be a legit complaint. If the item being sold was "obtained" (stolen) due to a glitch which would have not otherwise allowed the item to be copied or trans then YES... that is abuse. Selling an item which you allow to be copied and trans is not a cheat or hack.. and is fair use of an item that person has obtained in a normal fashion. So perhaps a better list would be... 1. Don't want my creations abused and used to exploit others. 2. Don't want my name associated with exploitation. 3. Believe in the creative commons and the idea that we should "give back" to the community that gives us so many opportunities. I think it was Nolan Nash who was clearest when talking about IP rights and the law. As far as forcing anyone to adopt my personal opinions. I don't see how I could, so I'm not going to try. Like everyone, I can do my best to sway opinion with well reasoned arguments, or I can state the truth of a situation as I see it. That is exactly what I have done in this thread. my 2 cents.:
LL should investigate this, since the person in question has been accused before, over a year ago. Due to that it involves so many SL content creators. She should be suspended from Live Help until their invesigation is over. SL is all 0's and 1's. Live Help is for people of SL who want to help others and anyone involved in any of the LL groups, are looked at as upstanding residents. LL may need to review who they allow in LH and other LL groups. In reality, will they investigate.. probably not. The best thing anyone can do is stand together and fight for what you believe in to be true. ~Tya _____________________

Actually I'm surprised at how relatively civil this thread has been. Only a small amount of outright name calling and very little cussing. As long as the discussion remains productive I wouldn't be surprised if it stays open.
