If someone creates something (including Lindens) and makes it modifiable and transferable, then it not all that surprising that someone else might decide to take advantage of that opening and try to make money on something they didn't create.
Unfortunately there's not much we can do in this case, even if we find the behavior to be unethical. The permissions allow the copying and the selling.
It's clear that there's a hole or two in the system -- we need a permissions option that allows transfer but not resale for those who want to make things that can be given away no charge. That's what I'll focus on.
I'm going to close this thread, as I believe all the arguments, pro and con, have been made.
