I'll admit I havent bought anything in your store either, Darien.. but you WERE one of the places that convinced me the "scripted BDSM attachment" market was saturated.. every idea I've ever had for something like that can be found implemented in one or more products in your store. Now I just make evil furniture instead and target RLV users with a relay as my market - and even there some of your stuff has inspired me. So whilst I didnt buy I certainly didnt lose out by it  Yes, I'm just being cheeky, as I think the person I was replying to was being. _____________________

Since LL claim's they are taking action on behalf of residents who do not wish to see any Adult content, nor any mention of it anywhere, perhaps we all should do the same. Tell LL what content YOU don't want to see, tell them often. Atheists, tell them you want a more predictable SL experience by eliminating religious content from view. Don't like furries? Let 'em know. Kid Avs creep you out? Speak up. Vampires? Outta here! Xenophobes, now is your chance. Tell LL you'd rather not see anything having to do with Americans. Or Brazilians. Maybe you are a rez day elitist. No need to see any trace of people born after 2006. Let's make SL the neat little categorized, inoffensive and politically correct place RL is trying to be. Balkanize, I say! C'mon, who's with me?

NOpe- businesses on adult parcels won't show up on pg or mature search no matter what language they use. if the store is marked "adult" then PG and Mature search won't include it At least, that's my understanding of the changes ^V^ Is that confirmed? Will adult parcels be blocked from search reguardless of content or language used? Where the heck is Blondin? |

I find the whole godwin concept tasteless, it says you should'nt use a political argument in a political discussion. To me this whole "adult" thing smacks of corporate fascism. Thats not an emotional response. There are important lessons to be learned from history that shouldn't be denied simply because people play the nazi card in discussions of furries or fandom. I think it's relevant and germaine to the discussion here. We are dealing with discrimination and ostracism, the promotion of more established businesses over smaller concerns, The forcible moving of populations and communities. How nice. I wonder how many other people's names are flagged mature. So I can see now that they actually have exclusion tables with actual names they discriminate against. But if you search for Apple you will see booty and sexy are not mature flagged. Must be a Linden's store or a relative of a Linden's store that gets to have mature terms in PG ads. |

This will be well documented and published far and wide so all will know how smart people employed by Linden Lab are. It needs to be a nagging memory in the back of every hiring manager's mind around the planet when they see Linden Lab listed in employment history and then remember oh yea the people that treated millions customers like that. Oh yea we surely want this sort of material working here treating our valued customers the same way.

Well, I sent jack an IM, though I doubt it will change his opinion that it is merely "some people are unhappy". If he put just one eye for a second into the closed and into the open threads here and maybe - for example - Jean Linden (german speaking) can help him to put another eye into the fast growing thread about the changes at the german community website/forum on slinfo.de then he can learn in a minute that thousands and thousands of people are extraordinaire unhappy = angry. These are only the informed people wich checked somehow 4-6 weeks belated what is going on. LL can expect a tsunami of anger, if LL would have the courage to give the info to *all* customers *now*. |

Try putting nothing but your name in a pg classified on a pg parcel. See if it goes invisible on a pg search.
I was trying to figure out what word in an ad was not PG and finally just tried sticking my name in the ad and on the name of the ad. No good. Shows up mature but not PG. Personally I think it is borked beyond all hope and LL needs to bring in some real database expertise and get rid of the tricycle kiddie toy database and pay up for a real database like Oracle. You get what you pay for. Basically some people will have PG ads no matter what sort of words are in the ads. Anyone surprised at that? Others will not be allowed to have PG ads, etc. etc. |
