Yes sure the only reason to separate the world is money. They don,t need to separate adult content from others content, all the people here are adult, you must be 18 years all to play the game, not need more filters. If Linden Labs do that I,ll live the game.

As discussed Chapters 2 and 3, virtual sex is a popular activity in Second Life. Predictably, there are plenty of SL people who make money from it – not only escorts, but also animators who create the necessary animations and gestures, and builders who sculpt sexual organs.

Making money on sexual favors is not easy in a virtual world where there's plenty of free sex on offer. A successful escort has to invest plenty of Linden dollars in avatar appearance including the necessary sex-related attachments (your avatar comes sans sexual organs), and other special items (such as a Gensex bed). If you have the money, obtaining necessary gestures and animations isn't difficult (Figure 10.10)

Escort "jobs" in clubs and other entertainment centers are advertised frequently and are much less shameful than in the real world. Pay Consists mostly of "tips" paid by appreciative guests, usually minus a 20% cut for the event host/owner; sometimes there's a low hourly wage as well to discourage absenteeism. Top escorts work the way top call girls do, receiving clients in lushly appointed private surroundings. Earnings go as high as L$2,500 per half hour, but the average tends to be in the high three and low four figures per half hour. In either case, monthly earnings can be impressive, easily reaching five figures in Linden dollars.

Yes, I've read the guide too, but Wiley holds the copyright, not LL, so unless they've got plans for a 2nd edition, there'll be no 2009 version. Hmm... it's likely to become an historical reference work - a record of the way Second Life used to be!

I would think that one has to move.
Nothing in SecondLife is private. One can cam about and into places oh so easy. So all that is needed is a pict, location and AR's from enough concerned people and who knows what happens. Feel for those who rent land out!!!!!!

Lindens can not police the grid and really on AR reports.
This is all about cleaning up SL.
So if you have land on the mainland you can loose it any time!!

Remember the gambling ban. How effective was that? How many places still advertise and still have gambling....

Scary concept: Your competition uses some bots and has them having sex on your place. Nothing you can do to stop this but be there 24/7 or make the location to be 100% Private. Using cloners even make the bots look like the owner for better effect.

A simple campaign of concerned residents who feel that this land is abusing the PG/Mature area and poof the owner get warnings/moved/banned???

Screen shots do not have avitar names in them that I can see.

A trip to ahern will see that there are "bot catchers" who spend their days looking for Bots to, I assume, report. I am sure we will have the same for adult activities in PG Mature areas.

Now fair being fair someone raised a point of not wanting to see PG or Mature material in a search. What about PG/Mature material/activities in an adult area. With the whole verified apparatus now LindenLab are now saying that they have taken care of the issue and have vetted that avitar as being over the legal age so the other residents of SL should not worry. Should not question.

No, you will not have to move. This is considered "private property", unless you start advertising adult-rated events or products there. As such you will NOT need to move or do anything to change anything.

There's hardly enough "noise" to clamor about. This isn't voice or sound.. noise can easily be filtered or ignored. It's really not all that hard to read EACH and EVERY post in this thread and RESPOND to it on a daily basis by ONE person. ESPECIALLY when it is supposed to be their frickin' job.

You see, that is another major reason why I don't buy that Blondin is "simply a messenger"; if he was, there is more than enough time in the day for him to round up the posts, take them to the "team", solicit responses, and bring them back to the forums on a daily basis. MUCH more time than to do 8 per day, which he isn't even doing THAT anymore.

No, Blondin is an architect of this mess; he doesn't have the time to answer, and the answers he gives are well-spun or excessively terse, making them useless, and making him LOOK useless.
