From: Morganna Reggiane From: Blondin Linden ANSWER: Public would mean a build on the mainland that is intended to draw and host Resident traffic in such a way as to make it more of a venue than a residence designed for individual enjoyment. Specific case related to the above quote which I hope will receive a specific response: I own 1/4 Mature mainland sim which is my home and my Haven. I enjoy opening my gardens to vistors (much like great houses in Europe) so my land was listed in Search and once a month I hosted a Blood Ball which was advertised in the Events. I had also planned to hold a monthly BDSM munch which is social meet 'n greet event. As I am a Vampyre Domme my gardens have all the expected Gothic ambiance with a dance floor, loaded Intan balls, sex coffins, blood pools with sex animations and quality BDSM toys among the black roses, trees, gazebos and shadows...on the ground. I do NOT do skyboxes <shudders>. I have 40m walls bordering the 2 external sides of the sim but not the internal sides as this is not necessary as our extended RW "family" of approximately 25 people owns the entire sim. We purposely bought a full sim so that everyone in the Evoco family could do their own "thing" which currently involves a punk grunge club, an otaku hangout, a sandbox and The Insane Asylum which is the home base for the "homeless" members to change clothes, open boxes and so on... This WAS my home and my INDIVIDUAL ENJOYMENT came from sharing it with like minded avatars in the SL community. At no time was it intended, used or viewed as a VENUE. I like decorating it, landscaping it and knowing that when I'm not there that others are strolling in the moonlight, playing in the graveyard or wasting time with the Lament Trivia cube. I was looking forward to adding a 7Seas fishing area with a rickety docks and sharks... All of that came to a screeching halt when this pronouncment was posted on the blog and remains on hold until I have a clear answer to my two questions... 1. Will I be allowed to reopen my gardens, list it in Search under Mature and host Mature events once or twice a month as before? 2. If the answer is No then am I still "allowed" to have my sex gen items and BDSM toys in my gardens for my own use? Not everyone enjoys sex indoors, in a skybox or in a dungeon setting. I personally find most dungeons, RL and SL, to be claustrophobic, constraining and generic in decor/amostphere. Thank you, Morganna If you open it to the public and list in search from what i read it then becomes a public venue and deemed to be moved, as i could see many people that are affected then just maybe advertising 1 or 2 events a month to get away with the new ruling. As for number 2 if people can view it you can rest assured they will AR it, thats a sad fact. Maybe LL will rethink all the definitions and give us all a clear ruling soon, but i won't hold my breath

The jailer promised to come all 2 or 3 days in here, with 8 portions mildewed bread and brackish water to feed thousands of hostages wich have thousands of questions. The freedom you were used to have ingame, will never come back. Even not, if you offer them money or yourself... But maybe B. will pick up your question, to simulate the Lab's interest in your needs.

I appreciate hearing about the land swap. Now i have 2 more questions:
1. I own approximately 70% of a sim (I haven't checked the percentage recently). i will probably want to keep most of this on regular (Mature) land, because most of my products, as well as most of my renters products, are not considered "adult". Will i have the ability to choose how much i want to change? Or, if i bought some land now, on another sim, if i don't have the adult items on them, can i say "I want to change the 512's on sim x, y, and z, for 1536 on Ursula"?
2. Some of our concerns has been about "crowding". Right now, a lot of us are the only "active" users on a sim, or the others are only semi-active. I know in my case, i have been trying to buy up the rest. Does this mean you are going to crowd every empty space in a sim with people? Or will you have some amount of allowed "empty space"....as in perhaps at least 25% left over in each sim, to allow for expansion/purchases (say, if i did move all of mine over, and wanted to buy the rest).
3. (Okay, i lied...3 questions) If we do swap land over, will we be given first shot at buying more land on that sim, before it goes up for general sale, so we CAN buy land to protect builds...or expand where we couldn't before due to lack of available land?
Thank you very much!

From: Blondin Linden Another major complaint is the amount of inappropriate content and behavior at PG welcome areas. As this will be new accounts first impressions on SL, dealing with this should surely be a top priority. What are LL's plans to deal with this? ANSWER: As always, Abuse Reports will be the norm. There are many projects underway to help improve the new user experience. Welcome Areas and infohubs are most certainly on the radar for improvements. Blondin, A/R's do not always work. I had a parcel owner on the other sim disregard walls that i put up, moving her signs up further, signs that were against the new TOS, about being over 8m in height/etc, she also put huge prims that overhung my plots of land. Myself and another person continually A/R'd....and until i finally opened up a live chat, was the huge prims removed....and until i put in a support ticket, was her signs removed. Another example...on a corner of my sim, if you stand, you get about 30 times a minute, this: [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:38] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:39] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) [3:39] SLetanque Jack: Best boule 9.702547m (1 points) I owned this 4096 plot about a year ago. I A/R'd it daily about 2 weeks in a row. I traded it to someone, for a plot of land, and have just re-purchased it a week ago. Now...it is still there. I have A/R'd it. I contacted Live Chat, who said to A/R it, and that they would put in a message to the A/R team to escalate it. 3 days later....it's still here. It's an abandoned parcel of land, and very very aggravating.

From: Kara Spengler Of course, that assumes he drives, using a lappy on a train is practically the norm. Kara, this is America we're talking about here. I don't think they have many trains there. From: Blondin Linden I made it! I made it on time! I was gone for a while and I apologize. I live 4 hours away from an office and I commute 2 days / 1 night a week. Thursdays, I travel back home so I'm AFK for a chunk of the evening.
Still got that glass of wine for me or did you kill the bottle? We drank the full case while waiting for you, and some hard stuff. Oohh my head this morning. /me fishes under the couch for the emergency bottle and looks around for the corkscrew.. you are lucky that I think ahead I've got to wag my finger at you. you should have popped in to tell us that you had office hours going on today.. not very friendly of you to ignore us you know.. and also you should have come in just before you left the office to tell us you'd do this when you got home.. I'm more than cool with that as I've been living that kind of gypsy existence now for well over 10 years now and I know how hard it is. It doesn't excuse you running off on us without a word though. /me finds a cleanish glass and pours you a drink now, sit down and relax and when you've finished this bottle I expect you to tell me what words and goods I need to have in that damn shop of mine to make sure it gets onto the land swap. I've had a taste of what the people being left behind currently think and tbh the narrow minds on display make me want to take my chances with the grownups. Even my extreme neighbours in sin are a better class of individual than what's out there in pg land. while you're at it, you can tell me what helpful things LL are going to do to help facilitate the move. you do have snow and tropical beaches on this new utopia don't you? I've seen green and rivers on the map but not snowy hills. I have a rather fetching mountain hilltop and my neighbours there live in an alpine village below. I know they won't be coming with me but it would be nice if I could at least have my hilltop and view again.

From: Mystique Chambers I have a curious question...
How many sims are there in the mainland grid anyway? I am trying to get a focus on the reality of space. Just flying around my neighbored sims there are large number of clubs. I know Ursula is around 250 sims.. Mainland and PG are....how many? around 5000 at the moment

Blondin
Another question, please.
We are busy on our end trying to formulate this move. Planning and planning. Trying to think of the best ways of moving 1/2 a sims worth of buildings and items. It isn't going to be something that is going to be done overnight. I work full-time in the real world so my time is limited. Is there a grace period for this move, this transfer. Or are we expected to pull everything up in one day and sort it out on this new land?
I just couldn't do it that way. I would just give up before even trying. We are talking of thousands of items. Not to mention lots of items belonging to different people. Are we going to be allotted time for this move along with a grace period on our tier?

here's my list for the day.
1. what is going to happen with XSL? are you going to lock it down the same way as the grid?
2. How many of my alts can i attach to my premium accounts to get them verified?
3. Do they all have to have piof or is just attaching them to the premium via the email enough?
4. is LL going to provide any help in relocating the objects on the parcel? - For shops in particular it's a huge job. I only bought my last parcel 2 months back and it took a good week to get everything set up. factor in having to go up to 4000m to pick up everything and that I have 3 different shops on 3 different parcels and it turns into a nightmare scenario.
5. are you going to display the verfication status on the profile page? - I'd prefer not as there's no reason to do it. If you're on the adult continent people know and out in PG land it will just give those of a narrow spiteful mindset a reason to go looking for AR fodder.
6. Can I consolidate/reconfigure some of my parcels as part of the move?

why wouldn't link ..drop work..HAHA
Obviously Blondin isn't a builder. Nor has he been involved in a task such as this one. Its not that simple. Yes, I know about link ..take..drop. It does involve a bit more work then that I am afraid. Work, time ..time..time..

@Blondin I am not happy with this new policy in the least. You know that, anyone who has been breathing for the last 2 weeks and has had any contact with me in even the most passing way, knows that. However, I want to give you some props for answering questions. It's more than we have had until now. Now that the congratulations and back-slapping is out of the way, can we get some answers to some of the more complex and rather more urgent questions please? I am and always have been more concerned with access and the coming and going from so called "ADULT" areas. I am on a private sim so the moving part of this probably wont affect me much if at all. However, having owned land for years, having had to move several times over the last 3 years, stores/homes etc, of varying sizes and complexities,... I definitely would not want to be you or anyone in the LL support office when the following finally sinks in on people; From: Blondin Linden 6) Will swapped plots have similar surroundings (roads, water, ocean whether plot is on the edge of a sim or mid sim etc)? ANSWER: We will make a reasonable effort to match your existing location type, although we will not be able to terraform or match plot shapes
Considering the way LL has behaved in the past and still is currently behaving, not you personally per se, I almost shudder at what is thought of as reasonable effort. I read that comment as; "Anyone having to move is getting the basic equivalent space in square meters, and has to rebuild, rearrange or whatever to make their build fit the new land,..." Another stroke of brilliance from the gestapo, I mean the "Adult Content" team,...

Or was this simply an April fools joke and I missed it? Mystique, as I understand it nudity isn't necessarily sexual, but it IS rated Mature, so you couldn't do it on a PG sim, for example. The logic is that nudity can be present without an overt sexual intent.

with some of these, any more than ...i think it's 5 10m across, it won't work, because of the link limits. Trying to line them back up, making them even, if you have to split a building into 3 or 4 parts would be difficult. Come look at my market, and see how many parts mine would have to be split into....and that's not counting the private homes, or some other people's builds, a lot more complex than mine.

Blondin has already stated that LL will not help with moving builds some pages back unfortunately, so we will all have to rebuild on the new land ourselves, well those that are made to move.

Well, it is a good old totalitarian tradition that slavedrivers are not offering a service as suitcase carriers. LL is, from this view seen, no exception.

ANSWER: We have no way of directly helping in the move, but we will publish some tips on how to best accomplish it. We will provide what support we can but this is not likely to extend to scenarios such as this.

From: Sindy Tsure Not really.. The lag is going to be horrible. Several people in these threads have been running traffic scanners and it seems like about 60% of the people in adult areas are no-payment-on-file so any non-mainstream places will probably take a good sized hit. I live an in 1/2 sim neighborhood with 4 different owners and a whole bunch of separate parcels and LL has said they're not going to help us move - dunno how (or if) we can deal with that..
If you've just got vendors, sure - no brainer. As you get away from that, it becomes far less of a no brainer... I've been running those scanners in both a pg store selling absolutely nothing more hardcore than romance baubles (on a mature plot I grant you) and my kinky mainstore. The mainstore has been running since the weekend, the pg one has only been running 3 days. Both are averaging 40% npiof. By the look of it the 40% is consistent across all levels of interest in sl. what i don't have is details of how many of those npiof people buy from either store. I've asked a couple of times for data from XSL. they should be easily able to extract that but the request just falls on stony ground. at the moment I'm torn between believing that the npiof don't spend and thinking that I'm going to lose 40% of my business. The latter would make it untenable to continue in my current form. (my pg stuff sells enough to cover the cost of the plot I give it - nothing more.. says a lot about the priorities of the inhabitants of this platform of ours )

I'm no good with numbers, but maybe someone here could figure out the percentages? EDIT: Hm, and I don't know about NPIOF/PIOF stats from here...so maybe this list is not so helpful after all...if not, sorry!

Could you go through your transaction records, and then look up the information in the avatar's profile? I only have PIOF for one avatar, currently there's no need for it on alts, but I spend through them too. Probably more. It won't be a problem for me to put PIOF for them, though, if I have to.
