Again we have a window into how a corporation setup by technical people responds when global considerations are not anticipated.

Many have walked this path before some with success, most with failure. The inability to anticipate normal operating conditions is very evident in the process in observation now. This is a repeat of previous failures in the corporate guidance. Gambling, not legal in the United States on line was rampant here. In order to inflate their subscription balloon avatar registration was thrown wide open to any child who desired to create a persona of adult stature. Now what we see is another attempt to solve a situation that was not well thought out nor well planned.

Most of the problems could have been solved with a more robust three dimensional grid where the adult grid could have lived on a separate plane but for now it seems that they will just make ghetto’s of isolation. I suppose that a company that cannot solve the simplest problem, the continued problem of default hand positions breaking priority 4 animations, has little chance of a concise and well thought operational solution. Thus the continued solution will be a patch work attempts will continue until the load destroys the original concept.

When I came here over four years ago it was with the understanding that this was an adult game. As it is becoming it is a reflection of what is called here first life. I have one of those now and do not need it to be reflected here. Through the lack of a little prescience by the creators it is now in the accretion disk. Only time will tell if this is good or bad.

Perhaps it is time for the management to actually sit down and decide a path for this endeavor. Past performance is no guarantee of future success and the continued “work in progress” has become long in the tooth.

There have been plenty of mid-course corrections in the past, gambling, and open subscriptions, the open space sim fiasco, all of which have alienated some or all of the customers.

In closing, it would be nice to have a map of where the owners think this platform is destined. This would allow the CUSTOMERS to make a decision on their participation.



Oh and just one more comment I see there is a place to select many levels of definition for an area, shopping,adult, arts and culture but no multiple selection such as adult shopping. It might be nice to allow sub set selections in the adult area.

you are exactly right about G-team! Heck, G-team suspended me and made me reverifiy my id because I messaged them saying I needed a backtrace done on my own account. and then they still have one of my friends locked out because despite the fact I could verify that yes she had a legitimate reason for logging in from my ip address (she was visiting) they cannot handle that she wasnt the one that imitated my ip address. meantime the culprit who ADMITTED to it as part of her stalking against me is still allowed in SL and a g-team member had the audacity to threaten me with banning when i told him where to shove it after he told me he didn't see an issue with the way g-team botched that case. Personally there's only two gteam members i think should be allowed to keep their jobs and the rest should be sacked for their incompetence and stupidity.

I can see them doing something like what you envision.

I just had a thought. They're making some of the adult Sims move... everyone make note of that when this happens. I picture a lot of people popping into the newly cleared areas thinking they're adult places and surprising a whole lot of kids with um... adult attachments.

You have a PG/Mature grid

Perhaps you need an adult grid then you can ascertain where you customer base truly exists

As you appear to now be filtering out profiles on your web based search, don't you think you should actually inform your users? This may actually result in people avoiding certain terms in their profiles.

we know the teengrid merge is coming and thats a fact, documented all over the web from various interviews with jack linden.

i suppose the best we can hope for is a 2 part SL, with a wall down the middle, or perhaps LL will just boot all adult behaviour off SL ,ID all accounts, stop all individual item creation and sell items only liscensed items through xstreet.
we can't have adults mixing with 13 y.o etc.
i honestly see that as the future of SL so i'm going to have an eye on several emerging SL alikes from now on.
as you can probably tell i dont trust LL further than i can spit.

I'm sure it's not the intention to make Star Wars role play an adult activity. It would be really helpful if you could briefly describe how you made the interpretation with reference to the draft definitions.

This process is more about learning to make interpretations rather than trying to make a ruling on a gazillion scenarios.

LL calls having payment info on file 'verified' even though credit card companies come right out and say they're not good for that. And anybody in the US that's been in a convenient store in the last 5 years has seen the prepaid cards that anybody can get. Legal age for those is 13..

The issue is what happened to land prices in Bay City and Nautilus. If you haven't seen them, go and see for yourself - if I say how much land costs in these areas, you'll think I'm just making numbers up..

A number of people were worried that land speculators would do the exact same thing on the new adult content and drive the prices through the roof. When LL finally answered, the answer was something very close to simply "land speculation is not prohibited."

There's also the issue of population density.. I look at the 25 or so regions surrounding my place and see 3 clusters of green dots. One is my place - very adult, the sex club skybox in the region next door, and a sexbed store that has "come try them today!" in the parcel description. At least 2 of these 3 places will be forced to move. The bed store might or might not, depending on if they want to change their land description.

In general, adult places are high-traffic places. Long story short, LL is forcing them all into a relatively tiny area and creating the Lag Continent. A number of people were worried that this would make life on ursula unbearable and asked, many times, about the performance issues. When LL finally answered, it was something very close to simply "all adult continent regions will be on class 5 hosts."

So.. Yeah.. LL is shutting down growth of the adult industry. This plan of thiers is going to cause lots of pain then stiffle one of the biggest industries in SL until it either dies a slow, wheezy death or until LL gets bored enforcing the rules and it all ends up back on the mainland anyway..

Got no problem with the goals of the plan. My problem lies in that they're not meeting any of the goals..

Is it really believable that they would go 'omg, 3 entries? I cannot possibly check them all!' and just give up?

Or that even if they found a blue tit entry that they would ignore other songbird entries, simply because they were less specific?

Having to teleport to 3, count them, three places is not unreasonable. Maybe you are the type just walks into a shop and buys based on the assumption that shop's products are as good as all the others, but many do shop around.

It's not a matter of giving up; it's a matter of UNNECESSARY INCONVENIENCE. It's a matter of UNNECESSARY DAMAGE TO BUSINESS. It doesn't MATTER if it is 1, 10, 1000, 10000, 100000, or a googolplex, it is the PRINCIPLE of the issue that MATTERS.



Having to do so when there is no reason for it to be that way IS the very epitome of unreasonable. I also DO buy things when I find them; if I CAN find them in more than one place, then yeah, I might compare prices, but if I CAN'T find them, I am likely to buy them at the first place I find them. I don't have TIME to shop around hundreds to thousands of stores looking for things (this problem is not simply endemic to tits, either, but don't let that stop you from continuing to make the same inane argument).
