In reaction to one rabid anti child avatar? I think that is a bit overkill. Unless I start hearing a lot more rumbling then this, I think I will just take advantage of the mute button.

Fantasy worlds populated by adults do not need avatars of 8 year old girls skipping through it. And no adult needs to be pretending to be one.

In defense against whom, exactly? Certainly not against LL, who has very publicly taken the position that adults roleplaying children in non-sexual contexts is a perfectly legitimate activity fully within the CS/ToS? Or against some nut-job who has it in her mind that all children want sex with adults?

I'm trying think of the number of times I've run into child avatars in the last couple of years in circumstances that would give anyone cause for concern -- and I spend most of my time in Adult areas (or what have become adult areas since Adult verification).

I once ran into one outside a well-known adult products shop, where several people were remonstrating with her and telling her to go. I IM-d the owner, who's a friend of mine, and the avatar wasn't there much longer.

There were a couple of child avatars looking round my store on Zindra while we were getting it ready. I explained, politely, that they were welcome to look round but I really didn't want child avatars there once we had the products out; they were perfectly OK about it and I haven't seen any child avatars there since.

Once I ran into a rather creepy child vampire, but it was her who gave me cause for concern rather than the place. And that's about it, really.

doesn't matter what you or i want..all that matters is how we are going to change ourselves as these things start to happen..

you can live in denial and think adult rated people have a chance at getting rid of those avatars..or you can understand that adult rated stuff is about on it's last leg out the door and worry about zindra and child avatars breaking CS and TOS there and leave all the rest of the grid to itself..

child avatars are not the problem and a lot have that figured out already..some just take longer than others to figure it out..some never will be able to..

I suppose a concession would have been if you decided to give up your adult business so that you wouldn't have to move. THAT would be a concession. So please, pray tell what concession you have made?I see maybe five threads, with a total post count approaching one thousand, driven largely by you, regarding child avatars in SL. On the other hand, I count no fewer than ten threads between here and the blogs, with a total post count exceeding fifty thousand, from the adult community regarding the adult content changes. So, um... Who is making the uproar again?
