New controversial kid-avs-in-Zindra thread!

just a heads-up to the unwary. It has happened at least twice so far that kid avs have ended up in Zindra accidentally, when the region they typically log in at is offline for whatever reason and they were rerouted to the infohub there. Now, I know this might give some people ideas; but fortunately according to LL, we can't be AR'd for this when it happens, even if we end up in "proximity" to the adult stuff. That also goes for unwittingly accepting random TPs to adult establishments, it seems, which someone seems to have tried on a couple of kid avs for who-knows-why.

So yeah, this thread really isn't all that controversial. I just called it that to get you to read it.

Much I want to get hostile with a child AV wandering around Zindra, if its in an info hub or other spot because it got popped there from some glitch... that's the blame on Linden Lab's shoulders, not the player of the child AV.

This is one reason why it might have been nice to not have adult registration linked to PIOF. Though that opens up a whole other list of complications. There should still be a flag that prevents you from entering adult, and one that prevents you from entering PG, and one that prevents you from entering Mature. Set the one's you want, and unless you unset them, you can't even enter by choice.

As for the random TPs to adult regions. That isn't just you folks. I've been getting a lot of spam from people before - from places and people I've never had contact with. Most of them in adult regions. Those people should be AR'd. We can well have our adult playground if we won't play nice with both those who don't want to join it and those who do, but just not right now in your part of it. If too many of these adult content providers keep breaking rules, its just going to harder for the others to justify themselves - much as child AVs that play nice get slandered because of the ones that ageplay...

Can someone please explain to me why an adult who is dressed up as a kid,is not allowed in Zindra? I can understand the creepy ageplay thing. But for a child AVATAR to just be walking around is against TOS?

You know - people seem to forget these "locations" are virtual, as in not real? I hardly ever notice what continent I'm on or even the difference between east and west. It's kind of arbitrary in this venue. So I would look at the environment rather than the virtual location to judge whether someone should be there.

Of course I am not prone to hysteria and histrionics.

I ended up crashing the other day and ended up in Baunworth (sp?) rather than at the adult one. It wouldn't have mattered so much except poor couldbe was naked except for jewellery...

No, actually it's not. In theory, I could go to Zindra and wander every road without any AR's sticking, for the most part, long as I don't click on any blue-and-pinks. LL is adamant about this.

But there's theory and then there's practice. There's a kind of odd disconnect between the Lindens who make the rules and explain what they mean, and the Lindens who receive and act on the ARs. Sometimes this disconnect has proven fatal (in the SL sense) for residents with kid avs.

Child avatars are not banned from Zindra.

I don't see the issue here, LL have blogged about this and were consistent with the live chat on the other thread. Kid AV's can be in Zindra.

This would be because people like to make ASSumptions as to why the kid is there.

Happens to me all the time, and not in adult regions either. I'll be naked, changing clothes and crash. If, on return, I can't be logged into my home , I end up wherever, naked. It's made me learn to change clothes quickly, not dither around wondering what to wear, and to change by putting on one outfit before removing the current one. Sad...

I personally don't think kid av's should be allowed over there, but if Linden Research wants to deal with the eventual drama~splosion that will be sure to happen over it, I suppose they can choose to do that.

People build houses along hurricane coasts and over rather reliable earthquake faults, too...

Starting threads about kid avatars + Zindra in the forums miiiiiight be sort of like setting a case of live hand grenades in a babboon cage. Not intrinsically dangerous, unless a few of the inhabitants get curious and poke at it just to see what happens.
