Well, the guy is trying at least. Proof that there are creepy weirdos in other places where English might not be the primary language. The weird thing is that the intimacy and the primary point of sex in SL is what is being said through IMs, chat or even voice. I refuse to believe it's avatars humping on poseballs. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's only part of the fantasy that is being mutually created by the people involved - without the words, it's like watching a movie with the sound off. If the people involved don't speak the same language, how on earth are they going to enjoy the experience? If I were out fooling around with random people, I wouldn't even think to approach someone who doesn't speak English. I can scratch out a little German and some Spanish, but after I count to ten, order a beer and ask where the train station and the bathroom is, I'm pretty much done with them.

Plus, correcting my Spanish, which I already pointed out was scratchy at best, only proves my point that it's stupid to try to hit on someone in SL in a language which you do not speak fluently.

In real life if you cant speak the same language sex can work , but not nearly as well as if you can.

I agree on RL. You can get away with not speaking the same language and do just fine. Anything that relies on fantasy and communication, though, like phone or cyber sex is just doomed from the start. I don't know what the answer is to your question Colette. It boggles my mind that people would try it, but these are the same people who walk up to women out of the blue and demand sex like it's their right, so, mentally, they're pretty suspect right from the start.

Lets give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are brand new and nobody has told them that the people they see are actual people and not NPC's. Maybe they think if they try the right combination of words, your script will kick in and you'll have sex with them and give them their next quest.

Maybe that's the solution. If some newb walks up with his junk hanging out and demands sex, tell him to seek the Sword of Sir Aromhorn of Markenfinklesteinhauserski and slay the three thorn dragons of the Windless Desert.
