I'll have you know that I have a nice full beard in RL. The genetic material of the family will continue, though through a cousin. I thought it was women that are more pear-shaped? Me? I'm a solid hunk of non-muscle. I have never heard anyone compare me to Kevin Smith, but if I had to come up with a shape to compare with mine, and a name people would recognize, I'd use his.

Well, I don't know. I think whether you get approached a lot is less a function of hanging out in sex zones than just hanging out in socialization places. The last guy who approached me ... nicely, but still unmistakeably ... was at the Botanical Gardens last week. The only places I've spent any amount of time where I've never been approached at all by strangers for ... um, intimacy ... is the Cartel Hangout and Linden Island. And that includes my own land on an island estate!

I think come-ons are simply pretty common in SL wherever people congregate. Generally, in my experience, people are pretty nice about it, and unless they're complete noobs, folks seem pretty laid-back when you don't pick up on it.

So there I was a few days ago looking at a nice place that was on sale. It had a very sophisticated upmarket build. You could call it posh RL, but redimensioned for avatars and camera angles in SL.
The builder turned up. Pleasantries were exchanged.
Me: This is a beautiful build.
He: You are a beautiful avatar
Me: Thank you but I'm interested in the build
He: You are very lovely
Me: Thanks, but someone is calling me now. Bye.
I suppose I could have talked him down, but he had a bling Rolex.

OK. He didn't whip anything out. Nor did he say " Oi! Oi!"
Same process though!


I have to say that the weirdest approach was by a female and while building on my own land. A bald newly-born naked female who looked like an alien demanded sex. Hilarious!


And, as said earlier, I've met perfectly pleasant people of all sexes and avatar form.

The "women's lib" movement was mocked to despair because of this. They forgot to honor the differences. Today's "politically correct" crowd are seriously in danger of over-doing it, as well. It may be inevitable that any situation which causes any group to band together to rectify its issues must over-play its hand initially just to get a modicum of attention. If so, a cautious look at history ought to trigger a gentling-down of the hue-and-cry before the mockery buries the good intent.

Go to any nude beach. You will find: Fully dressed females. A few bikini-clad avatars of both sexes. Many nude male avatars with fully erect yard-long non-matching attachments, swaggering around forlornly, and unsuccessfully, seeking sex from anyone of any sex, or none. (Except each other, of course)

No, wasn't me. I checked the place out, though. Every time I figure out who on here has built what, I go check it out. We have some very talented people in these forums and it's fun to look at stuff built by people you know. Cherry's work is excellent.

I think the 'problem' is, this isn't a dating service. Most people don't come here to find their soulmate. If you come to SL looking to get hitched, you are bound to be disappointed. I'm not saying it never happens, I know several who have met in SL and become married in RL, but there are more likely places to go if that is your intent. Like any RL place in existence...
