Whoops, I guess I was unclear. I know the pots in the market place contain freebies, but are the pots themselves included as items in those freebies?

Hi Ceera. Based on what I am finding reworking one of the prefabs, you will likely learn you are a damn good builder... . As for other freebies. On the East end of the island, there is a temple and the dolphins and statues at the base of the entrance (swordfish looking things) are marked free to copy. I don;t have a slurl at the moment, but the temple is on the eastern most point of the island, on the south side of the canal. _____________________

I wish they'd include the containers as well, so you could toss a few amphorae around the place. /me sings : "Thanks for the amphories..." _____________________

I didn't bid on Bay City, and I won't be bidding on Nautilus. Why not? - These types of "pre made" builds fly in the face of "Your World, Your Imagination". It may be fun to "buy in" to the ready-made theme, but the philosophy of SL has always been, as I see it, for the users to create those visions, not the service provider. (Of course, maybe if they come up with a theme that really intrigues me, I might change my mind.) - The residents who buy DON'T all buy in to the theme. And so you get things like Marianne's Bay City neighbors. - The prices are too high. Far out of reason, considering that much of the mainland is for sale right now, at much lower prices...and not selling. - I think LL is trying to run estates out of business. I don't live on an estate at present, but I support that business model. I won't invest money in schemes that benefit LL at the expense of estate owners. Just my opinion. I wish all the people who have bought land in these new builds all the best, even if I don't choose to join them. QFT! Personally, if I ever sell off my mainland, I would LOVE to live in Caledon...just might have to add myself to the waiting list and wait a few years. _____________________

Thanks. I haven't quite made it to the East end, yet. Started at the West, and made it as far as the huge canal doors with the dolphins on them, and a terraformed park-like area beyond that, with some sort of purple egg shape submerged in a lake... The lake with the egg shaped thing in it looks like an eye when you view it from above. _____________________

It looks like the pots, benches, and other accessories aren't intended to be freebies. Maybe they should be---it's not as if LL would lose by making them freebies, and in their absence, people will resort to whatever benches and pots they happen to have, even if they're themed to The Jetsons or to Robocop or to any given off-Strip Las Vegas casino..... |

Been seeing some nice in-theme builds, makes me happy seeing such beautiful builds that I just had to share
![]() The Shoe Boutique, great idea and wonderful use of the base building! ![]() TCH Binary, right across the street and also a wonderful look! ![]() Ganesh, very nice build, not exactly to theme but close enough to fit right in! BTW, was the land I was going to bid on before I saw the prices and went into shock LOL ![]() I really hope this trend continues, these builds are shining examples of how to maintain a theme and fit right in ![]() Also saw a lot of non-theme ones, tired of seeing lame protest signs, way to piss on a lot of hard work, way to go... not! I won't dignify those with pictures. |

I will. ![]() ![]() I don't believe they're pissing on anyone's work. I guess that depends on your point of view. Edit: okay, the title of the plot they have the signs on is pretty much doing that. As far as the builds there go, I am kind of surprised (pleasantly) that people are sticking with the theme. I expected the worst as soon as the first auctions ended. |

I hope to do a flyover today of some of the areas that have not been auctioned to at lease get some of the views into the screencast can. I'll also look for these examples and see if I can get some good footage. |

(Of course, maybe if they come up with a theme that really intrigues me, I might change my mind.) I see the prefabs as merely a way to illustrate the theme. The residents should the run with the idea and create a coherent whole under that *theme*; not with those specific buildings. I think that if this was the general style, it would *hugely* benefit the SL experience as a whole, with people putting more work into their surroundings, rather than just stashing their shop or home away in a skybox somewhere. The problem is more with your second point; there is no way to be even reasonably sure that your neighbors actually intend to keep within that theme, unless you buy land on a themed and covenant-enforced estate. |

Think you all must be in a SL different to me. Love June |

Tali, I think you are right on your first point. Some will create within the theme at the outset. Others will use the prefabs to have a presence and come up with new build ideas that match the theme and are not prefabs. As we all know, it takes time to come up with any build, particularly if you want to do a little research. Nautilus plays off of the Greek, Roman, Phoenician, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, and other early civilizations. This could be a real market for people who create themed clothing, furniture, jewelry, boots/sandles, weapons, ships, housing, statues, shops, wagons/chariots, textures, vases/containers, animated water jugs, etc that fit within this theme. If you add Atlantis into the design ideas it could be really creative. |

Love June It doesnt help that the world map for the regions just shows grey squares. Search for Nautilus - Shalim on the map window, it will come up. |

It doesnt help that the world map for the regions just shows grey squares. Search for Nautilus - Shalim on the map window, it will come up. I do not understand what you mean by grey squares. ![]() This picture shows Nautilus, Nautilus City, and the top part of Satori. Nautilus City is that bit of land with a long canal that leads to a circle of water. While this here is a map of the eastern mainland land (with some private islands showing up here and there). ![]() In the north is Corsica and Gaeta. Corsica is connected by a narrow body of water down to Nautilus, which in turn had been connected by a narrow body of water to Satori. Nautilus City, though, was added and so now all of the southern edge of Nautilus connects to Satori, though there are northern bits of Satori that are adjacent to void, to nothing, instead of to actual real water that can be entered. _____________________

I had to have the map sit there open for a half hour for "everything" to rez and it still is somewhat blurry in spots. There is even still one or two grey sim(s) in my picture. _____________________
