From: Argent Stonecutter You win a free trip to the shadow farm!
I wonder if anyone's managed to make a Puppeteer avatar. The animation of it curling up into a ball would be worth paying money to see (not to mention the two heads looking at each other). (I wish there were a list somewhere of SciFi builds/avatars that have been made in SL.) In re NC pricing---having one parcel up for sale (as well as two I intend to keep), I may be part of this problem*, but: you have to wonder if NC would be livelier if average prices came down well below the L40-50/m mark. (Not that I'm for price controls. I'm just wondering.) *and of course if I lowered the price of that one 1024m to L10/m, all that would happen is that someone would snap it up and put it right back up for sale at L50+/m.

From: Sling Trebuchet I dropped by Eshum again earlier today. The lag wall jump as you cross into the sim is still remarakable. I didn't mess around a whole sim poking at things to determine the cause.
I checked in yesterday as well and once they restarted Eshmun, the lag dropped dramatically. The bots are gone at 3000m and the Zyngo game has moved to 410m. The server and client are in the green but the network turned amber or red periodically. Ahh, correction, sometimes its briefly amber or red. I don't know enough about SIM health to understand what to look for. /me jots note to learn more.

Ah, the megaprim was very mega .... about a kilometer on a side. Any parcel encroachment is a violation of the Community Standards and Terms of Service, whether with "regular" or "XL" objects.
"Unfair abuse of system resources" is the usual discipline action taken against malicious bot farms.

From: Argent Stonecutter I want to see the Hindmost's Dance. Given that there's apparently little hope of that series being filmed, a re-creation in SL is probably your best hope. Edit---and if the art of machinima (and supporting arts of avatar creation, animations, etc) ever develops to as great a capacity as many hope, there are SO many books that could best be made into movies here in SL....just imagine... And many of the best would be filmed in Nautilus City! (Maybe. Just making a belated effort to be on-topic.)

I'd rather see an animated version of "People of the Wind", actually.
I started working on a Ythrian avatar just after I joined SL, but... damn...

Wow, it's years since I read any Poul Anderson. I should see where those books are. (I have a LOT of books.)
But speaking of your avatar ambitions, bird-forms are tough.
Even in Nautilus City. (^_^)

I have a couple of wonderful pictures by Steve Gallacci, who also worked up some animation cels (back when that meant painting on mylar) for a People of the Wind movie:
The climactic scene from Wingless on Avalon.
A picture of a rite from the early Ythrian religion, titled "Old Time Religion".

Never say never. It would be difficult but as far as sci fi to screen, Dune would have been one of the last I would have thought possible to faithfully render on the big screen. Of course I am talking about the first Dune movie, not the second. Who would have ever believed how great a job someone could do with Lord of the Rings for that matter? I sit and wait patiently for a 3 or 4 part Ringworld movie, especially now that Hollywood has learned it can earn big money on movies besides the ilk of Alien or Predator.

Would it be possible for you to pull some strings to get voice reactivated in all of the Blake Sea sims please? I've submitted a ticket to this respect. However, it has been ignored as are all my suggestions and questions during every Linden public meeting. Thank you very much in advance.

They could always convince Paramount that a Ringworld would look really cool in the Federation. It worked for the Kzinti.

And there's always the precedent set in the Lucasverse, with E.T. making a guest appearance in the Galactic Senate....
Say, is there going to be a Senate in Nautilus City?

ATown Fall had formed a group called Nautilus City Council. He never made anyone else owner or officer of this group. Unfortunately, he left the group within the past 2 weeks. This effectively guillotined group leadership and left it useless. I send a note to all group members detailing this problem. So far, I only got one reply pointing out that Nautilus City is still quite young. It has few residents and even less businesses. The existing population doesn't seem to have the need for a city government at this point in time. However, I've considered the possibility of starting a new group for this purpose. Except, this time have more than one owner... Any ideas?

Wanted to share a couple of pictures I've taken at the Festival so far. I am so proud of the organizers! The festival is great fun. I believe the next concert beings in about 15 minutes, and the dolphin rides and plunge are available all the time. I'm looking forward to logging in later and seeing more of the sites.
