There was a small lamp on a crate that was not there before last night, has some trees and landscaping stuff inside it. Not much more but there was definitely some :)

Is that a different item than the one that looked sort of like a snow globe?

*laughs at self* I don't know why I even care to collect these goodies. I'm extremely unlikely to ever have a place of my own in these sims, and since a lot of the houses and stuff are no-transfer, I can't even use them as "building parts" for offering custom homes for sale that match the architectural style there. Guess I am just an incurable freebie collector...

You're talking about the snowglobe on the crate on the north side? That was added at the same time as the rest of the new stuff. If not, where was this lamp?

LOL. I am too. I have a house there, but I don't in Bay City or Nova Albion, but I still went out there and grabbed all the goodies. I also got my goodie bag from TrickorTreat Linden.

I get everything home, rez it, and think...'Cool, but what am I ever going to do with this?' But do I delete them.... :p

I do have to admit, some of the textures in the Bay City freebies have proven useful in later building projects that I have done. So maybe some of the textures from Nautilus will also be useful.

If nothing else, the concept of using a 4-way split wall texture for four different lighting effects was kind of cool. Do any of the houses actually take advantage of that in an active, scripted manner? Like, you turn on lights, and the textures on the walls change to match the new lighting?

My SL daughter, Reisuki, glommed on to that trick or treat bag, and added 4 new bears to her collection. She was pretty happy with that.

Well it's not looking like I'll be able to afford a plot there.

However I loved the theme so much I took a whole bunch of snaps before people moved in and started a Flickr group to act as an archive of the devleopment of the area.
If any of you have pictures of Nautilus pre or post auction please add them to this group

Do you suppose someone at LL flicked a switch or something, maybe decided to change the battery. The lag in Nautilus (Anath, Hannibal etc) has pretty much disappeared..everything's suddenly running smoothly.

Gasps in amazement..reaches for the credit card..maybe I'll buy after all..

Perre..:)

I have definitely noticed this. i started doing some customizations to one of the builds there for a friend last week and the lag was painful. Finished it off today and it was completely lag free.

I too am tempted, just to be a part of it.

Yes, the snowglobe - I didn't look very closely at it as it was late when I went to collect it. I had not seen that before though I had collected everything else so I assumed that was the new thing mentioned.

Y'know how from time to time you see avi's just hovering or standing without moving in one spot for days on end. The last I saw was a few months ago who stood for about a week on the bridge at North Channel. Often they can be found in the extreme corner of a sim and many are seen wearing the newsprint outfit.

Well I found one in Dido while checking out some houses, she's a bird/human avi so she's got wings and big feet (you have to see her to understand) and she's just hovering there with wings flapping..very bizarre. (Dido 213, 93, 93)

Definitley one for the photo album...just dont wake her up it might be dangerous.

I saw here there today too. ALL day. I wondered if she was watching the auctions at first, but they all closed hours ago.

She's been there for a couple of days now. When I saw her yesterday I thought also she might have been monitoring the auctions here in the web site and just hanging there in-world. Then when I flew by today there she was still in the very same spot.

The giveaway clue is her clothing, the textures of her top aren't rezzing, some of these avi's clothes/textures show up as a newsprint.

Why they are there and what they are is a bit of a mystery, possibly some kind of memory in the server from someone who recently logged/crashed out..or maybe someone's just left their computer on connected to SL and forgot to log out.

living art !!

I say decorate her.= )

Seariously though, an IM should "unlog" her. Worst case a sim restart will.

I've had that happen to me. It's frustrating, can require Linden intervention, but sometimes sending them an IM will wake the server up and complete the logout process.

You know, instead of spending money building new cool areas, how about getting in touch with some of the owners who’ve built cool areas that are going to be destroyed in the near future because they can’t afford to keep them up, and make some kind of arrangement to save them?

Right!!!

Sounds like the land baronets who paid huge amounts for the parcels in the earlier batches are going to be disappointed.

Bought 4 parcels at Elissa only to find the Bloodline group has rez a towering concrete warehouse just next to mine. :( You will be able to see it, just in front of the Gate to the cathidral. I think it suit Bay City more than Nautilus.

I don't understand why ppl willing to spend so much on a parcel just to build a warehouse. The land flipper will suffer, it will de-value their land.

For me, this will be my shop and my residence. I love Nautilus's atlantis/ancient civilization theme. So I will be using the linden provided texture and houses to build my shophouse.

I like Nimue's idea of businesses on ground level and residence above. I'm not in a hurry to build. Will look around for more ideas. And.....to find a way to block the ugly warehouse from view.

Edit: Warehouse has been remove, only an ugly flatform left.
