I too feel the same way about campers.

A similar problem is essentially what ruined Sims Online - being a welfare system and cheating popularity - and I see the same thing happening here.

It's quite clear to me from the rules that sucking up a disproportionate amount of sim resources is a violation - yet we clearly see nothing being done. I would have no problem with a genuine location running an event for a couple of hours filling the sim with players having a good time - it's when this goes on for 24 hours a day, with zombies instead of players when it becomes a problem to any right-thinking individual.

I just busted someone who expressed a belief in these very forums that people have a right to enter a sim where they pay tier.... in a camping chair... in a sim with 37 avs in it and 6.7% constant packet loss. Funny or tragic, you decide. Me, I'll just be gaffawing behind my hand any time they make a statement regarding good form and conduct in world. ;)

The really funny bit for me... is they "want to do some camping just for the fun of it".

Cos sitting down for hours doing nothing talking to no one for hours, watching as a trickle of Lindens accumulate at an agonisingly slow rate, is just so much fun. Buckwild, crazy fun. Fuck, that's so good I'm gonna pay their chairs for me to have some of that.

I agree, and to assist in furthering the experience I have started work on a camping chair simulator that will pay virtual $L. The best thing is that it is a standalone app and will run outside the SL clients. Problem solved.
