Is this not a bit like buying a house next to a major airport and then threatening to go to the TV stations unless the airport officials do something about "all that noise"?

It's more like going out and verbally abusing the passengers on the sidewalk.

Well, I have seen enough. The only abusing seems to be from someone I can't name (thanks to forum rules) against Sarah.

Peaceful place til that crap started up. Don't be whining about the last year and all that has gone before. Sarah was not there for the last year and she just showed up and got abused by someone oh so innocent.

Enjoy your drama folks.. this one was easy to see the real issue in.

I'm only in this thread because someone was telling people to leave the infohub with incessant cries "don't you have somewhere better to be." I don't really care about the history.

To the OP: I personally would recommend, at this point, dropping this thread. It is not serving you very well and, if anything, seems to be causing you more trouble in Bear, as well as potentially causing damage to your business and reputation.

Such hypocracy. Calling others griefers when you yourself have admitted that you are a griefer in this thread.
How can I greif myself? I am the only parcel owner in the sim posting in this thread. Don't be silly.
The sim was kept nice and adfarmer-free, with no bizarre builds or huge items that went way up into the sky by me for three years. I really never assumed LL would allow the Infohub to become the chat ghetto it has become now. But here we are. There is no need for me to maintain the nice atmosphere when the natural flow of traffic out of the infohub into teh sim has been disrupted by this loitering bunch.

Don't be so shocked and amazed. You have seen sims in worse shape than this one is. And when you do you just do not go there anymore. Problem solved.

fun facts.... the free guns are there with a gun range... so scripts and build are on.

Be thankful that hasn't been abused. I'd recommend turning off build and scripts for non-group members with the amount of attention you're causing.

for the same reason many other places do.

it's asking for trouble from the less civilized population of SL

Thanks for the compassion Mari but ten forum posters don't effect me in the least bit. And none of this demographic is my client base. I wisely do not rely upon infohubs to create my business. I do however rely on a infohub of traffic of no more than 6000 daily to be able to conduct my business.
I do know that everytime I post about this issue the traffic goes down for a few days. Many people don't want to participate in other people's dramas or intentionally make others uncomfortable. So mission accomplished.

Well traffic is going to go up now.

I do know instead of camping at my home when bored and doing things I'll be at the info hub... seems to be some nice folks there and I've always been a fan of helping newbies and watching the various avatars people use

So if you see a black and red anthromorphic crow, give me a wave!

You are not greifing yourself you are greifing BEAR INFOHUB REGULARS.
And your greifing me Chef when your group shoots me, records and plays my voice over and over again and gathers in large groups for hours at a time. Disrupting the natural flow of traffic out of the infohub into the sim is a big issue with me. Telling new players that rez in the infohub to stop and use the infohub for chatting is irresponsible. The sim cannot support all of that loitering.
If you feel greifed then go stand around and do nothing somewhere else. I am going to run my camping pads, add signage, continue to have my people in the sim and try to make sure that you and your group are not capable of gathering in large groups in the Infohub. And you will continue to try to gather in large groups, make comments, send out more notecards telling people to boycott and complain about my actions. So be it.

only reason they can shoot you is because you set your land permissions to allow it... and give newbies guns that they just have to try out...

The numbers are growing the more you complain now...

See I even help those over 30 days with problems!

The range needs build on - but we have it set to delete everything not set to the group within one minute. At the rate that the infohub fills up with loiterers and greifers each month - the more notorious loiter spot greifers were coming anyway. We have just resolved ourselves to let it all go down hill until some change occurs. With the new public works department maybe some playground for the idle can be made and they can capture-tag-and release the loiterers there. Just make it brick with a big green hand on it and they won't even realize they have been moved.

Oh no it has no effect on me - I just get a registered push on my client window. Then I report them. Then they are logged off by Lindens for a few hours and then they are back and we start all over again. I do not think those guns work without the range. I have damage enabled at one of teh other venues and we shoot and break the bottles on the bar. When the noobs drop in there an dtry to use the M-16s I gave them at the other parcel I do not think the bottles break. The M-16s do not register any prims when we shoot them so I do not belive they create a temp rez item when using them. My guns do create prims - But I have leg cannons AR-3s.

Ah so you give newbies guns and report them for using them while still learning about the game?

Kinda detracts from the new user experience a good bit and may cost LL clients.

In effect it seems you're setting them up for AR griefing

Or is it like an official comes to you and says it wants to build a hot air balloon station for the new neighbors to enjoy - you agree - and then wake up to see a major airport in your backyard?

Mort no. The M16s dont work on people. I report the loiterers who have real guns and use them to shoot me.

And there are plenty of other free guns that do, you've created a place where they can try them on the range.. and when they turn in mouse look and hit you.. you report them.

Kinda sets up for the problems you get with being shot at.

It's like someone with damage enabled land complaining because they got killed by someone... you chose the land permissions that allow for a type of behavior near an info hub that is now gaining popularity due to the drama fest (that make most of what I've seen as a fur pale in comparison)

Plus said store sells the damage/push guns... could easily be making money off the vendor and then AR'ing the new owner for testing out the guns sold to them at the location (most gun stores have scripts and build off for a reason)

And this has been the ugly MOB MENTALITY that has plagued the sim for the last year. Supervised public gathering is ok - Unsupervised loitering attracts people like Sarah and the Bear Buddies/Bear Co-op Greifer group.
And I can create my own unpleasant - loiter filled atmosphere without the help of Sara, the Bear Buddies or Linden Lab (please see picture in thread above).

I had a great time at Bear. I sat with friends and listened to the good music Dancien was playing on his stream. I sat on a railing and joked and talked with a few friends. Honestly it was very nice until Ryan Radio came over for the specific reason to argue and name call. He he wants to behave that way it's fine. But the fact remains that in my 4 trips to Bear this week no one was behaving badly, no one was rude (other than Ryan), and there was nothing worth complaining about. The only ugliness or wrong doing near that info hub is you and Ryan's build and behavior. Other than what you've done Bear seems like a nice sim, with nice people. I hope you learn to appreciate it.

It seems to me that most of the people in this thread are being intentionally unkind by making unsustainable accusations against Lias - imaginations wrongly stated as facts. Anything that Lias says is treated as garbage, which is another wrong thing to do, because some or all of it may be correct. It looks like the bandwagon effect, rather than reasoned thoughts.

It's clear from some of the people posting in the thread that the info hub 'group' are well aware of this discussion, so there's no reason to disbelieve Lias when she says that they keep their numbers down when there is some heat. If that's what they do, then any observations during visits to the hub, while this thread has been going, are meaningless.

So I sat back and thought about how I would feel if a large gathering appeared, for several hours every day, in the sim where my store is, making it so that not many other people can get into the sim, and sometimes none at all. I would very quickly get to feel as Lias does.

All in all, I don't disbelieve what Lias says, and I reject most of the accusations levelled at her as being the imaginations of people who have an axe to grind - even if the axes were developed because of this thread. The idea of trying to fill the sim today was irresposible, and could only inflame the situation. There is no excuse for that.

I agree with Lias that one relatively small parcel should not be using most or all of the av allocation for the sim, and thereby preventing other parcel owners from having their 'fair' share, or none. Ironically, everyone here agrees with that when it's bots that are using the avs up. I also agree with her that, since the small parcel owner is LL, they should do something about it.

Where I differ from Lias is in what I would do about it. I would check will LL to see if it can be resolved and, if not, I'd be angry, but I'd move. I wouldn't dig my heels in and stand on the rights that I think I have, but in fact I don't have. If my store didn't matter to me, maybe I'd fancy duking it out for a while, but it does matter, so I'd begrudgingly move. I moved not long ago in anticipation of a club opening. I didn't wait for it to open - it hasn't yet, and may never do.

The purpose of this post is to point out the wrongness of many/most of the posts in this thread. There is no reason to disbelieve Lias when she says that certain things happen at Bear - no reason at all. If she wants to continue digging her heels in, it's her choice, but it's wrong to accuse her of imagined things, as has been done in this thread.

Personally, I think it's *very* wrong of LL to not deal with problem, by moving the info hub. They have no right to use so much of the sim's av allocation on a small part of the sim (except they own the whole thing so they can do what the hell they want, but you know what I mean). They are taking money every month from other landowners in the sim, and they have an obligation to provide a fair experience to them. If it was a club that was using the avs up, then the only option would be to move, but LL owns the hub, and they can easily solve the problem by moving it out of the sim. There is no excuse for them not doing that.

Not in the slightest. I watch the number of avs in the sim (permanently on-screen), and log bots out when necessary.
