Mainland Sim Full: Who Is To Blame?

How can I have insulted anyone when what I said is true? Whether or not Lias has smeared herself is irrelevant. Mort invented something, and wrote it down as a smear. He is everything I said he is. There are some nasty people in this forum, and he is one of them - don't ask me for an opinion about you though. If you think it's disgusting to call someone out who invents things and then smears people with his inventions, it says a lot about you.

What exactly did Mort invent? That Lias is rude? That is a fact. That Lias is griefing the Bear sim with her antics? That is a fact. That the people at the Bear infohub have every right to be there? That is a fact.

But the evidence and actions of Lias put me firmly in the camp of those thinking she was in the wrong.

If she wants to file a lawsuit against LL she's got a surprise coming. The only contract she has is the TOS, and it doesn't guarantee anything will be usable by anyone.

There is also nothing saying a tier paying resident is given priority over non-tier residents.

Colette surely you remember the telehub debacle of 2006. Anshe threatened the suit against LL for de-valuing the property all the realtors had around telehubs. The case had merits and LL caved. They gave money to everyone that owned land within 100 meters of the now defunct telehubs.

So Mort doesn't know much. The TOS is not the only contract we have. This is not Linden Lab's world - it is the good 'ole US of A and standard business laws apply. Even in a video game.

Standard business law does apply, you have a contract with linden labs that specifies the services can be disrupted and you are not guaranteed service.

I'm rather busy or I'd dig back through and find it, but you're welcome to read the contract you have with LL and look for the legal clauses relating to tier paying users and service in general.

If you have a contract other than the legally binding TOS please by all means post it in pdf format (sans personal information)

Mort PAY ATTENTION. The TOS did not state that LL could not take away telehubs - but they did and real attorneys got involved. No business can take your money and then - by their own actions - purposely lower the value of your investment. LL realized that they were in the wrong in 2006 and instead of loosing in court - they paid everyone off. Comprende?

The person living next door can paint their house purple and in effect lower your property values.. or simply by not taking care of their property.

A company whose land you rent (ie pay tier) from with the option to sell out your rental to others can pant the house passion pink and you can not sue them because the sell out price is perceived to have dropped.

They decided to be nice and pay people for the perceived loss of market value, key thing is they were not required by any laws to do so.

List the law, and I'm being nice and not saying site court cases where it's been used.

Well then explain why with the recent launch of more mainland sims, and the planned launch of more the land baron isn't suing for lowering the value of mainland lots? Because they lowered the value of all mainland lots by adding more land to the markets.

Why with the new lower start up costs there is not a number of lawsuits over the fact sim owners can never recover the original buy value for their private sims?


Edit: why are you not threatening to sue over the fact your land lost value with the market being increased due to linen labs adding more land?

It's a faster and more potent devaluation of your land since it isn't a finite resource but one they can create at will.
