You should hear some of the things people say about my hair, before they've even seen it!

I buy a shop, where there is also a ground rent for maintenance for the mall, and start to sell wigs. One day the selling of wigs is made illegel. I have to either come up with somthing new or sell the shop. The mall owners are under no obligation to buy back the shop or even respond to my request. As for the freezing the rent, they still have the cost of mall maintenance.

But i agree they could have had the decency to send you a polite "get F**ked" letter.

Chilly you've lost the plot. Yes LL should have offered you free tier for a month or so to compensate you for the overnight ban. That would be good customer service, but they had no obligation to do so and they chose not to.

Yes it could happen to any of us, those ridiculing you would be singing a different tune if it happened to them.

Region "Extreme", not for sale but nothing but campers and signs complaining about the gambling ban. Region "Lag Free" (as if), for rent $450 a month. Region Sweet Leaf, 1/2 a sim L$64000 a month rental ($237?).

That's probably a large part of the answer of "why the land isn't selling".

Perhaps because many here despise casinos and camping. I will say though, Chilly was not a theif as far as I know. Ive had run ins with him and he seemed like the kind of guy who was about having fun and did not want to see anyone go dirt broke by gambling on his islands.

I have not read through everything here but his Original Post seems to be more focused on the fact LL will not even give him any solid answers or work arounds, instead continue to ignore him and take a tier fee.

You almost had me there for a bit Chilly but no more. You've proven to me this has nothing to do with poor service or lack of fun or whatever. You made a bad business decision and you're refusing to accept responsibility for it.

I'm taking a risk quoting from an internet site but I don't have a legal dictionary around the house. Here's pretty much all the definitions I found:

"Under common law, three elements are required to prove fraud: a material false statement made with an intent to deceive (scienter), a victim’s reliance on the statement and damages."

You may have the second or third part but you don't have the first. You'd have to prove that LL made those statements with the INTENT to deceive. I doubt that was the case and doubt you could prove it in the unlikely event.

What did LL do? They made a bad business decision allowing gaming in SL. What did you do? You bought into that bad decision. Two parties made bad decisions and both are suffering financially for it. Nothing new there.

It really is time to move on....the hair posts are at least funny.

I agree with Carl, talk to a real life lawyer. Contrary to what it seems most people who posted believe; You haven't done anything illegal. Linden Labs is exchanging Lindens for cash, not you, or the other casino owners. Lindens was/is play money UNTIL it left the "game" as real life money.
