Why would they buy back your island? If you sold someone a car and they used it to run over a granny, you wouldn't buy it back, would you? You certainly would feel no obligation to do so, even if they said "but it's SO UNFAIR! I don't want the car unless I can run over grannies. Sure, I could turn it into a taxi service, but that's too much WORK."

SL service sucks. No big news there. SL is extremely unstable. No big news there. You chose to invest money in an unstable, poorly serviced environment. You didn't know that before you invested? You should have done your homework.

I'm not unsympathetic. Some lessons are hard. Accept this as an experience, learn from it and use it to work towards having a bright and happy future.

Hm, I remember very clearly that they were referring to current US law when they banned the advertising. Granted, one couldn't be a hundred percent sure that they would ban the act, too, but again - if they said "This is shady with US law, ppl, do not advertise it because it might be illegal"... I would have thought it might indeed be illegal and spend a few thoughts of different means of... hairdressing.



Maybe his request is not unreasonable. His tone of voice for sure is. Throughout this thread he has been pretty bitchy and speaking of fraud and deception repeatedly, suggesting to other users to "be evil". If I were LL? I wouldn't give him a single penny after this rant.

yeah i get bitchy too when 797897 people jump all over me and say strange stuff I think you would too in fact i was "snotty" at one point in this thread myself and for the same reason of 798797 people jumping on me and flaming me and I had no idea why other then i was posting like everyone else except i was all for showing some compensation for the mega hair sim

Anyway, recent LL history dictated that gambling was most likely on it's way out. All the smart business people put 2 and 2 together and started re-thinking their business models. There were a bunch of companies on WSE that had announcements to that effect after the gambling ad ban.

Can't do that. An account is closed only at the end of a billing cycle, in this case the billing cycle for the premium membership.

well they are also private sims I am not sure what you do if you no longer want a private sim and you dont need to be premium to own a private sim.

I actualy never thought of what one does with a private sim if they can't stick around to sell it ?

I dunno say you have real world financial problems and need the money to pay your mortgage because you got a huge paycut or had to get a lower paying job? do you just abandon if you can't shoulder the tier or will they continue to charge you even if you abandon your estate? (well i'm assuming that there is even an abandon option..)

i am typing standing up in short spurts my back is too bad today sorry but that's the reality of having a back full of arthritis and propping your keyboard on top of your monitor and refusing to use text to speech software. This rant comes after over a week of trying to communicate with Linden Labs directly and being given nothing but lip service and being stone walled and NOT having questions answered yes OR no.

I waited, believe you me I waited. When I say

I say it not rushing off half cocked I say it having had patience and belief in Linden Labs that they could actually do what was right for once.

They do not seem capable of that. There is only one thing they seem capable of and that is:

If they even told me "no there is no way we can do what is right and compensate you in any way" Then I could dump the islands at a stupid price and call it a loss. Right now I am still holding them waiting for an ANSWER.

But instead they act like they are going to get back to me with some type of answer and then they don't at all.

Imagine Linden Labs were to say it is now against the TOS for anyone to rent out any land EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Oh and by the way everyone renting land out is stuck with your islands and you owe us rent?
