Now if the Bragg case holds up, there may be some wiggle room on the TOS. There could be some interesting developments for all SL residents in the result of that action. I would watch that even closer than the EROS case. Bingo, an example where a judge doesn't believe the TOS is the be all and end all. I rest my case. |

TOS are subject to change at anytime, and without notice. you agreed to this 'gamble' when you signed up with SL, and again when you bought the land. you are SOL. just another example of 'buyer beware'.

Wrong. Advertising casinos was banned weeks before they banned them, with clear references to the legalities they were referring to in their decisions. That should have been warning enough that they would probably not just ban the advertising, but the games in itself. It would have made me think that oops, hey, what I'm doing here might be illegal...? Hmmmm... But then again, that's just me. I'm the nice gal. Law-abiding and bald.  anyhow this is what he asks for its not much and its fair *** If you would like to know the VERY TINY bit of compensation I have asked for was for them to buy back the islands OR give me a couple months to re-tool them into something else or find renters. ***** (Looks like what he wants to do is what you suggested but he can't do it over night he has to fix the islands up and decide what direction to go and reopen as something else) also it was advertising banned not the casino advertising pron is banned to i think in fact so it ageplay ads and a few other ads. Now me I didnt see that they would ban casino's although many did, but they have banned certain types of ads before and not banned the actual activity In any event I think people were pretty mean in this case and his request expectation is not unreasonable and he has been here for longer then most of the avatars posting to this thread. |

Such as...? porn you can't advertise it i dont think at least this is what i remember can't put up billboards of nude people outside the place where the porn is i just put it in the post you didn't read it? Content, communication, or behavior which involves intense language or expletives, nudity or sexual content, the depiction of sex or violence, or anything else broadly offensive must be contained within private land in areas rated Mature (M). Names of Residents, objects, places and groups are broadly viewable in Second Life directories and on the Second Life website, and must adhere to PG guidelines. *translation - that which is broadly offensive* is a no no outside of closed doors woot i got to use the word phrase broadly offensive! lol |

Yes,
All I have asked Linden Labs to do is either buy some of the islands back or give me a couple of months rent to figure out what to do with them. Now it would be one thing if they said YES OR NO to these requests but they are SILENT. I have called concierge. I have submitted a ticket. I have contacted Lindens personally. NOT EVEN A NO OR YES ANSWER. I have waited OVER A WEEK for replies and reminded them every other day. In the meantime while I wait for information which I need to make decisions they continue to suck USD out of my account for tier. They will take another $300 tonight. THEY WILL NOT ANSWER YES OR NO. |
