From: DJQuad Radio I've met a mix of both, both in RL and SL. So who's "right"? It makes gor that much more idiotic to me. Id say that if you met people who honestly beleive there is actually a planet in our solar system named Gor, ultimately ruled by a group of golden insects - fighting a centuries long battle with a galactic race of nomadic ape/bear monsters. A planet where they travel to earth in flying saucers and kidnap gorgeous of age virgins--- That you have them seek medical help. Likewise, Id say if you meet someone that claims there are actual vampires that are genetically predisposed or infected somehow to feed off of either a imagined mental energy or the blood of other people--- To also seek medical help. ----------------------- My guess is there arent many "RL Goreans" or "RL Vampires" that actually believe either example. Contrary to what you claim people may have told you.

From: DJQuad Radio I'll go back thousands of years and let them know.
You claim that ultimately your group can trace its origin back thousands of years? Seriously? As someone with formal training in History I find that extremely difficult to believe. My reference was the link between the "RL vampires" and the vampire myth. I think "RL vampires" was linked to the mythical monster on purpose, for whatever reason. From: DJQuad Radio Of course it is. Have you seen anything other than "news reports" around 1980 that made you come to that conclusion?
No. I said I first heard about "RL vampires" in 1980. I didnt say I hadnt read anything on them since. Im not sure that helps your case as far as my opinion is concerned. Becuase the news reports I saw at that time took the occurances seriously. While the stuff since more often associated it with Role Playing games and people playing pretend. Im not partiularily interested in the propaganda produced by followers of this science fiction concept. Id be more interested in actual documented historical sources that would describe RL vampires as actually having some origin other than a bunch of sci fi/fantasy geeks who thought it would be cool. Until I see something verifyable by credible researchers Im going to have the opinion its a bunch of Sci Fi/Fantasy hooey. Gor too. But at least not even the inventor of Gor claims the world of Gor actually exists.

My question is: what do free women do in Gor and how do you become one? A friend of mine is quite keen on the idea for some reason. It seems they float about not going much at all, is that wrong?

From: Brenda Connolly I'm confused here. You practice an Alternative RolePlay/Lifestyle in RL and SL, yet you are condemning a group that does the same? There are many "groups" that I personally condemn. When I do, I don't do it blindly and have very real reasoning for it. There are types of vamps I condemn as well. With them, gor, and a few other alternate lifestyle groups, it's obviously not just condemning a group, it's what a group stands for, what they believe in, and what they practice.

From: Resolver Bouchard Its a special skill that trolls have, as well as a fear of sunlight it appears vampires share other troll-like attributes. How was anything I said trolling?

It seems they float about not going much at all, is that wrong? (in Second Life, of course) In most Goreans sims if you join you are given the option of joining free or as a slave, at your choice. Some sims have no free women though. Others have Panthers -who are free as outlaws - which is different.

From: Ceera Murakami *Laughs* I once visited a Japanese sim that was specificly a Fedal Japan setting. I was very proper, in my kimono, obi and geta shoes, and spoke politely in Japanese. But they were a bit startled to see a legendary Kitsune (Japanese spirit fox) in their Human village, and even more so when my white-furred Kitsune Partner also showed up to shop. We hadn't realized, and they hadn't posted, that all visitors should be in a *human* Japanese form, you see. Theirs one I was at that has no problem with Furrys so long as its a more natural looking furry. and if you actualy speak Japanise (even if its Romanjii) you will be very welcome even in a bad furry outfit, so long as your more or less traditionaly dressed. whatever you do though dont ever show up their as a Raccoon Dog. . .

From: Alexa Susanto My question is: what do free women do in Gor and how do you become one? A friend of mine is quite keen on the idea for some reason. It seems they float about not going much at all, is that wrong? That's simple enough, Declare yourself One, and Act like One, that is to say, Dress in a Conservative fashion, Do not dance in public for the entertainment of others, don't conduct yourself like a Trollop, and don't wear, or touch slaves silks. In some Sims, but not all, you may need to Wear a veil, In some sims, but Not all you may wear a Weapon No larger than a dagger, In Some Sims you May need a male escort in Public areas. In all other things you can conduct yourself in much the same way a Free Man Does. It is NOT an Offence to be Rude to a Free man Either, something Most Free men don't seem to Grasp. Their Status as males did NOT grant them any special Claim to respect. There are times when you may Need to fight for your freedom, that's one reason i never went anywhere without concealed poisoned needles. No one ever knew i Had them, because my behaviour was such, that they never needed to find out the Hard way. Read the Laws of the sim that you Wish to Visit, Or reside in and Be Prepared to ABIDE by those Laws. If you conduct yourself with pride and honor, you should be fine. Angel.

This has gone on long enough and been dragged off-topic.
