From: Chris Norse Nina, please don't poke Jackson again. He finally settled down. As for logic, it would seem that Jackson and logic are bitter enemies. Sure chris take your stab at sarcasm too, too bad you couldn't understand the meaning of the posts or the poll. You where more obsessed with diagnosing every little word and pointing out any errors, you should be a editor... and Jackson isnt a HE, but your so smart I thought you would have known that

jackson i could almost swallow this if you were making the case of people indicating they were offended by sl sex, but actually participated in it. but your working it the opposite way. and it really doesnt float. people dont have sl sex, but they say they do to be politically correct? From: Jackson Rickenbacker Sometimes the truth underneathe your politically correct protective barrier, gets revealed in odd ways, you can say what you want to try and make people think your something your not, but your actions prove who you are.
Alot of people here think they are so smart, but cant even read the true meaing of things without exact clarification... to me thats not very smart. so continue to post your brilliant and insightful misunderstandings , it only proves more who you are by your actions

Until recent times the masculine pronoun was the accepted form, unless sex was known.

You can rebute any statement with any sort of camparatives, no one statement is flawless of comparatives, take it this way, say your opinion that perversions shouldnt be allowed in church... well since you dont engagte in perversions in church then the comparative would be true.. there are millions of comparatives that would both work and wouldnt work,. voicing a comparative like that only serves fuel for disagreement and provides no other purpose

I'm looking at poll results that clearly indicate the overwhelming majority of respondents have participated in SL sex at least "rarely".
What's so difficult to figure out about that? Unless someone was actually hoping the numbers would reflect the opposite.

What Im saying is people often will say one thing and do another contrary to what they say, surely you could find a way to agree with me on this point, so I figured it would be nice to know about peoples SL sexual actions and not another "Are you for or against SL sex" poll.. but its seem to lead to all kinds of small minded interptretations, and included such stone throwing as " intentionally misleading" and "intellectually dishonest" Wow such really big words, but then again I have heard on many occasions the forums are full of dictionary literatim whos sole purpose is to find disagreement with any word that is posted ... There must be a website somewhere that the Literati organize their assaults from LOL there you go hows that for conspiracy theory, Im running to get my tinfoil hat

What's so difficult to figure out about that? Unless someone was actually hoping the numbers would reflect the opposite. I think the results look like this, more people have never tried SL sex(33%) as opposed to how manyconsider themselves SL sex Addicts(7%) There is more people who frequently(35.41%) have SL sex as opposed to rarely have SL sex(24.59%) If you where to take the folks that aere SL sex addicts and the ones that have frequent SL sex your percentage is 42.43% as opposed to those who have never had SL sex or have rarely had SL sex 57.56% In conclusion with the sampling of the poll after 1 day , it seems that by a small margin sexual activity in SL is not as prevailant as the multiple threads on the subject would indicate

From: Jackson Rickenbacker But you cant agree that sometimes people say things and do somethign else right? Yes, but until you have actual evidence of this, you cannot transfer it to poll results. (well in a poll this short, some of the longer surveys do ask the same question different ways in order to get a clearer picture of a person's true opinions."

How many people are in SL right now? Over thirty thousand. So, your comment: From: someone In conclusion with the sampling of the poll after 1 day , it seems that by a small margin sexual activity in SL is not as prevailant as the multiple threads on the subject would indicate Would be better phrased as From: someone In conclusion with the sampling of the poll after 1 day , it seems that by a small margin sexual activity in SL among the people who frequent these boards is not as prevailant as the multiple threads on the subject would indicate, but we need to bear in mind that we're a TINY CHUNK of the population-at-large.

Rare compared to what? Frequent as compared to what? For the results you are wanting, a better way to ask would have been: How many times a week do you have SL sex. A 0 B 1-5 C 6-18 D 19+ I make the Energizer Bunny look slow. (note these numbers were just examples.)

Would be better phrased as Yes that would be better wording. I had thought I specified that it was forum results , but apparently deleted that

Presidential exit polls are typically based off of a less than 1% slice of the public right?

Jason, rarely and never are NOT the same thing. A person who "rarely" has SL sex is still having SL sex. But someone who NEVER has SL sex...well, is NEVER having it. Your conclusion is, quite simply put, incorrect. Especially if you meant that more people are not having sex in SL as opposed to people that are having it, regardless of its frequency.

Its Jackson, and granny smith apples and macintosh apples aren't the same thing either but you still group them together right? Since many who chose rarely do so because of the novelty factor and the one timers and the reformed addicts.. I think its completely fair to group the two together, as I worded it correctly, IM not going to say oh theres 3 sex choices vs one non chose, sorry its not so black and white, you cant group the rarely in with the frequently and the addicts, its only logical to pair rarely with never, and thats what the numbers I said are based upon, you can look at numbers yourself and make your own formula

Rarely does mean 1+. Never means 0. But rarely is an open term. Rarely depends on what you are comparing. Rare for me might be frequent to you.

Its really hopeless isnt it?, theres more people who don't considering sex a driving factor in SL than do. and thats the bottom line so far with the results as the forum sample shows. Quite honestly if you spend your time having sex frequently or all the time, your really missing out on the most unique and interesting features of SL, commerce and profit. Long after the sex is gone, and beleive me it is going. there will still be commerce and profits, and hardly a single business outside of the sex market is going to miss those who leave Phil R. said himself he didnt intend on having a sexcapade world where anything goes, his vision is a new kind of business platform. So instead of living out your wildest gay fantasies, learn a SL trade and start being a part of the better community LL is talking about.. if not, GTFO. And thats what the real message in the blog post is

Sink the money into software to scan and filter words in IMs? As long as we have the ability to talk privately there will be sex in SL. Period end of story.

I, for one, don't know the least bit about programming or building. I DO however, spend a great deal of money in SL...and trust me, I'm not the only one. When you've purged the world of every last 'pervert' and you have your nice little Disney world to live in..I hope you still have customers to buy all your creative endeavors. Most people came to SL to have a chance to escape RL, not to have it staring them in the face again. I dont have to pay 300 a month to pay for a SIM for that.

Lets see 30,000 people online. 15,000 IM conversations. (ignoring the fact that sometimes I myself will be talking to 6 people at once) Lets say 30 LL employees doing nothing but scanning IMs. I will take my chances with those odds.
