Individual residents, or several individual residents, can cause a thread to be closed by derailing it, ridiculing it, or making personal attacks in it. This is unfair to those who want to discuss the subject civilly. The option to close the thread entirely would, of course, still exist. If only we had those rules against derailing threads! (Particularly if people derail threads by asserting direct quotes are untrue!) _____________________
