It reminds me of the roller rink when it was a hit during my youth. The fact remains, it IS Mannfred Mann's legally licensed version, no matter how anal you wax. Amazing. The same person who screamed at me in caps the other day "READ THE THREAD" (which I had, more than a couple times), is now not reading threads and commenting. It's a call to boycott your group. One I will participate in and heartily endorse. Can you boycott your own group? sorry - I just ran across that response of mine when I reached that page and realized I wasn't being real clear (I'm tired!) and then reached this of yours. ... The whole 'all animals are equal but some are more equal than others' tone is certainly nothing new.. I was amazed that they now come out and say it, and glad that others could see it..... It has nothing to do with the Justice thingie or what the group wants to do, its all just about the perception that Anshe was making some kind of statement that certain players are "worth more" intrinsically than other players. add the notorious American equality fetish into the mix, and everyone gets their backup. It's almost like a "how-to" on causing a forum meltdown. _____________________

A. I would of course disagree that anyone's opinions and/or demands count for more than anyone else. B. I don't think Anshe ever said anyone's opinions count for more than anyone else. I was believing she was stating that some people CARE a whole heck of a lot more than others, and should be listened to by the Lindens, because for one thing, they've put money into this as if it were a real business. If it's not a real business, why would anyone put themselves out to build one, as GOM did? coco So special treatment is okay. So it's okay that Aimee gets special attention because she has put herself out and done a lot, therefore she deserves to be on the webpage and she deserves to be in articles. Come on, it can't be both ways. As for people investing in SL, they get something out of it, no one is twisting their arms. But Anshe belittled the average player. That's what irks me and I can't see how you can't see it. If someone had said something like that that wasn't a part of your inner circle, you would have been livid. I really hate it when people make statements like this. "Why people consider Anshe Chung poorly" - takes it for granted people actually DO. As in EVERYBODY "considers her poorly." (Which would imply they aren't adept at considering, but that's neither here nor there.) "Why people don't like you" - takes it for granted that people actually DON'T. As in NO ONE does. This is the sort of character assasination that shouldn't go on on these boards. I think if she had been trying to imply that NO ONE liked someone, or EVERYONE considered them poorly, she would have used the terms NO ONE or EVERYONE. She implied no such thing, you inferred it. _____________________

It's not about you boycotting THEM, that would be like shooting yourself in the foot after injecting yourself with anti-coagulants... Lets break it all the way down... There is a group of people who by virtue of the money they have made (and more power to them) now believe they are of a class above the population.. now thats well and good... good for them, they can think whatever they like. HOWEVER... Now that that opinion has been voiced publicly, some of these folks are a lil pissed off.. and so have decided not to give that small group any more of their money... For them to 'boycott' their source of income would make no sense whatsoever. Now of course.. this sorta puts you in a rather humorous (in my opinion anyway) position.. your an officer and mouthpeice for this group of folks.. But being the 'token everyman' has a REAL disadvantage here As Dr Phil would ask: 'So... how's that workin' for ya?' _____________________

In my opinion, reading comprehension is a problem area for Cocoanut. She and I have had this conversation before, but she's a little sensitive about it, what with supposedly being a writer and all.
