Hmm ,Xavier Pavlova for one you post is ignorant . It serves no reason in this topic,sowhy post such nonsense? Secondly ,isn't the content created by users theirs and they have rights to copyright/trademark it (or is that not in the TOS).If said person did gain others free items and sold them for profit that is breaking some sort of rule. The free items are supposed to be free,not sold for money. It is wrong that someone could do that to newer players. Hell,goto SLX and see the ammount of freebies being sold ,it's rather pathetic and sad if you ask me. The creators do have rights to their material and if someone were to break the tos by selling user created items without their consent something should be done about it. If said person has done so bring it up with the Lindens(which I'm sure you have  ). Maybe provide screens of said items that are for sale? I am sitting here reading all of your rants and raves, and shaking my head. Shame! Shame! You definitely need to come down from whatever mountain you are living on. You talk about someone ripping someone off in game. Take a moment to stand up and look around you and breathe it all in hon, because obviously your head has not seen daylight in a long time.
The said Person, and Club you are referring to has not ripped off anyone. If anything, she has helped more people in this game than anyone. She takes care of new people coming in to game and helps them enjoy it. That PERSON is being unjustly attacked BECAUSE their name is so known! It's easy to attack those people that are in the SL public eye (so to speak) than others that are actually doing the wrong!
I have seen SO many of the same dance balls, animations, products etc. that have simply changed the name. SL is no different that RL people! There are so many companies that have the same products and sell them to compete with the others out there. It's business to all.
Do you think that copying clothes that say "CHANEL" or "Hummer" are not being ripped off???? And you talk about your store and clothes etc.... but did you CREATE the actua textures you are using? ANYONE CAN CREATE OR EDIT SOMETHING FOR THEM TO SELL! And believe me, I have seen tons of stuff that I can't believe got through. I came from a game that you actually had to get APPROVAL first before listing it. There are copyright laws people. If there are people out there creating and marketing the same product, its all a rat race until there are such policies being set in motion to copyright, then certain things can be modified and resold. Til then, buck up people! Don't hate the players... hate the game!

I have been in IMs with the person in question. She says that she will be happy to remove the items if the creators will IM her. I suggest that everyone whose stuff is being sold do just that. Then the problem will be solved.

That place has always been ripping off and preying on newbies. I know that in the owner's shop she has a few items made by other people (not freebies mind you) that are being sold as her own. Apparently if someone gives her a full permission item in good faith of her, and why not since she's the famous club owner with responsibilities, as a gift or because maybe she asks, that often times it's found in her shop later selling for 5x as much as a reasonable price.
I remember when I saw her shop the first time I physically laughed at her prices, things that could be made after a building 101 class were on sale for over 1000 L$, but it wasn't until a newbie friend of mine came to a hangout spot with one of her items, talking about how she'd saved up for it, and when I told her it was a rip off she was shocked. She didn't even realize that it was so high priced compared to everything else, especially in quality. And even more shocked when I said that I could have made it in a good 5 minutes (and did too). So it came to me that even though the prices were high, it didn't matter because she deals with a lot of newbies and people who don't get out in the rest of the grid much and their SL is centered around her club.
She definately knows how to work over newbies, and will do anything it takes to pad her wallet more. Her selling freebies doesn't surprise me at all.
Also, I only have one freebie box of clothes I've made, and I doubt it's there, but did you see it there?

What about when she removes items, waits a few months, and starts selling them again? I am just asking because this has been going on for a very long time and it never stops. |

OH well it seems that a few of my freebies are up for sale as well for 100L did i get any profit? Fuck no..  i made these animations for free not to be put up for sale i am disgusted that this popular club owner needs money that badly that she has to resort to this kind of shit.. shame on YOU, she claims they where all donated then why the hell are you selling them for your own profit.. A: who gave you permissions to sell these??? J: someone donated them a while back said they were full mod and that we could sell them. LOL please
