I spend farrrr more time helping newbies out in the welcome area, on help island and on the orientation islands getting them used to secondlife in the first place, and i dont ask or want money for it, im not a content creator, so quite like when its time to do my other role of preview testing then i can get the free cash there and test out all the goodies i cant afford on the main grid.

First off, I have never been to the Welcome Area since joining SL. However, I have helped numerous newbies get themselves on their feet, given out clothes, advice, store names, how to change their appearance etc etc. The same things you are stating you do in the WA. Want to know how? They come into clubs I am either at, or work at. Yes, including the one that shall not be named in here among others. Newbies will go to clubs. The clubs are in the top 20. I'm not saying that it's necessarily the best place for a newbie to go within their first five minutes.

At the club that shall not be named, I have in fact witnessed dozens of employees past and present there, helping newbies out. Much as you would in the WA. Don't judge where a newbie is helped, isn't it more important that they're helped?

The person does help newbies, ive seen it many many times, ive seen her give skins, hair, clothes of her own creations to newbies

She has worked her butt off to get where she is,

She has helped many many designers get there foot in sl sales.

I know for a fact that she is selling people's work without permissions. I know the creators. Taking money from new people for animations and clothing they can get for free is stealing. Period.

As far as selling the default Poser animaitons. Taking artwork or animations off the Internet and selling them as your own is a violation of copywrite laws. Period.

Doing X,Y and Z doesn't make stealing other people's work and selling it not wrong. You don't build up karma points so you can rip other people off with impunity. I'm seriously not sure what kind of ethical code you're working off of here.

First off .... from day one of me coming to SL, I have been coming to the Edge. I got more GOOD help, advice on the game and FREEBIE stuff that otherwise no one anyone else would give me.

Since then, I have become an employee of the SAID PLACE and I have seen THE PERSON IN QUESTION do so much for noobs. I've seen her give our clothing, skins, etc. This person does ALOT for SL and for everyone. Shes not a ripoff, con artist .. etc ... all that you all are implying. She has a very caring heart and does alot out there for the SL community in a whole.

You people who are commenting on here who really dont know what is really going here to type typing such crap. It's all a bunch of BS and you need to get your facts straight before you go bashing those that help.

Also, the person in question, puts in volunteer hours as a LIVE HELPER for Lindens .... so please, don't be bashing someone when you dont know the facts OR the truth!

You people are jackals. The whole concept of SL is a fantasy world, and you all seem to take that to heart. Welcome to reality. This is the real world, you dont like it? Too bad, STUFF happens. There is always someone who will feel stepped on, left out, or ripped off. You dont like it? There's the way out, remember to slice down, not across. Well personally I would be all in favor of naming names. This is not a shade of grey, or he said/she said kind of problem. You can go check it out for yourself. I only asked that names not be posted because I don't wish to see the thread closed for TOS violations.

My work-around is to ask people to IM me for details. It sucks as a solution, but I'm using the tools that are available.

Sadly I remember when content creators used to put out a lot of free stuff. I learned what little scripting I know from messing about with free scripts. Reselling freebies has almost put a stop to that and I think it hurts the world as a whole.

So the only person I see specifically breaking any rules here is the person posting names against the lindens wishes! Not only did the person post a name and had it removed from they tantrum but they went so far as to repost the name and make an extra section about doing everything in their power to go against what the lindens have asked of everyone in these forum. THE PERSON EVEN BRAGGED ABOUT HOW THEY WERE GOING AGAINST THE LINDENS! Nice. What exactly is this being based on? Someone says without naming names that a prominent club is selling freebie and linden things. Well we all know a club that's a common name and a has been around awhile. Let's pin it on them. Is that what this is being based on? Or alright maybe the posters really did think that this is the club and question, but where are the facts and proof that this is happening? The owner makes and has employees and vendors making their own original products to sell. And let's compare the quality of free animations and products compared to things that cost money. There is obviously a difference. So you're saying the owner would just assume that none of sl would be able to tell that they were charging a good amount of linden for something of poor quality? Oh ok. I think some players need to take a class or two on research and presentation before presenting false information and allowing others to fall prey to that false information. You do know what they say about assuming don't you something something makes and a__ out of you and me. Keep that in mind the next time you are at home alone on a saturday night with nothing better to do than bash innocent people just b/c you can't get a date. ~.^

This is a prime example of what I'm talking about. Again, I have not investigaged every vendor in the club that shall not be named, so cannot speak on whether or not anyone is being ripped off.

What I _can_ speak on is the blatant hypocrisy of the thread's starter, asking one or two people not to name the place and then letting _blatant_ hints, that leave nothing to the imagination alone. The thread did start out with a good request not to name the place. However, if you're going to ask one or two people to not name the place, THEN post in response to something else and let something like above slip, well to me, says that it was hoped that people would come along and skirt the TOS like this.
