Having payment info on file doesn't actually change your age verification status. If a parcel is set to only allow age verified adults it will still require your account be age verified regardless of your payment info status.
If you still wish to be age verified as well and the age verification page isn't working for you at the website please let us know and we can help you with manually verifying your account.

From: Couldbe Yue If you remember they got called out over their position on child avs during last year's. They did some back pedalling but iirc didn't change their position at all.
The teen grid has always complained that LL ignores them during any kind of celebration. The comments in the merchants brownbag that showed they'd never even considered an adult showcase means we've effectively dropped off the radar since they're not even going to bother trying to replicate any of the now pg infrastructure for the adult grid.
What's interesting about this of course is that both luskwood and NCI are effectively excluded since they've already expressed fear that they cannot meet the pg. But then, in all honesty, who can? Look whose name is at the end so he should be able to comment on the NEW PG definitions  From: someone

Questions for the open house tonight 1. what is the expected release date for the new policy 2. is the pg definition used for SL6b now going to become official policy as stated in that blog post 3. what is the latest compensation package to be offered to residents who are forced to move any others?

I have been on SL about a year and it's been a dream come true. However, the new changes are deeply alarming to me. IRL, I'm a marketer and a professional writer. The way these changes I've been reading about have been handled (or not as the case may be) are horrifying and I am deeply worried this is going to be a huge, damaging problem for SL.
The new PG definitions are insanely restrictive for adults and are going to invite AR vigilanties who feel they have *permission*, maybe even a mandate, to hunt down people who are 'violating morality' on SL.
Is that really the kind of virtual world you want? I sure don't.
I'm begging here, absolutely begging. Please please please rethink how this is being rolled out. Please announce the plan on the login screen to get a true measure of how the residents will react. PLEASE consider turning Ursula into the G continent, having all welcome hubs go *there* with the PG and safety defaults and police those info hubs with Lindens who have authority to expell the griefers.
I promise you, by not uprooting the people who are already here paying money to LL, and by making a safe place for the new folks and a clean, fresh experience for them, you will not only improve SL's reputation in First Life, you will make it more inviting. The people already here will see this as a good and faithful move by Linden Labs. Their contentment will increase spending, and content production, as well as positive word of mouth bringing in more new people, including the corporations and educators that could make SL a truly top teir virtual reality experience.
Many of us are older, edcuated, interesting people with LOTS of formidable ties in the real world. That kind of positive pull for LL and you cannot be understated.
Please, Sir, PLEASE think about this. Contact me any time if you'd like to talk.

Well, maybe we do that. File an AR and send an email to the head of the GTeam Harry Linden she certainly overstepped the mark there. This is how they will react after the changes i think, totally without care or thought, but please escalate it so that it doesn't happen again. You could always engage her in IM then post the chat log on the SLapt.me wiki PS: I would replace the sign as well

The actual problem was non working PIOF in world in spite of the account being PIOF on the accounts page. The problem is the Lindens getting age verification and account verification mixed up. Compounded by the complication that there is no way for a basic account to submit a ticket on this issue(any type of verification NOT working). The closest ticket type is Manual verification. If you try to submit it any other way they just how it out without even reading it. The Account in question could not get to Arapaima,it was showing as NPIOF in world in spite of the fact that it had been converted on the website to PIOF over a week and a half previously. A full explanation was submitted with the original ticket. Explaining what was actually the problem and that this had to do with access to ADULT regions. Most oddly even though the ticket was apparently denied the account suddenly went form NPIOF to PIOF at the same time, so I assume the support rep fixed the actual problem while at the same time saying no this does not apply. The problem is it this leaves basic accounts with no way to fix non working PIOF, with out playing these silly workaround games, or ending up being forced to either use Aristotle or send in hard copy documents. Of course I could just cheat and log in on my main PIU account and go to live chat and say i have a problem with an alt account. Some people may not want to link them link their accounts. Many only have NPIOF or PIOF. PIOF is still a basic account. Either way there is no way to properly file a ticket on this! And other related issues, like Passed Aristotle not working in world. What about Xstreet-PIU? I have no results on that yet! I am deliberately testing getting my alts verified by other means. I am concerned about how many accounts will get left out in the cold. |

Even given the hassle of signing into JIRA I doubt a Linden will blink until it reaches, say, 5%. That's months away, if ever. It's a relative thing. Only a percentage of people in SL read and post here in the forums, and an even smaller percentage use the bug system, so you have to multiply those percentages to get an idea of "how many people would this represent if they were all polled". It was hard for me to figure out the JIRA system the first time I used it, and I used to test software for a living. Think of what that means for the non-techie users. The fact that this issue has reached #2 in all time votes in one week, and is rapidly closing in on the #1 issue says something important. The percentage of voters on this issue relative to the total people who have ever voted on any issue says something too (though I am not sure how to find out that ratio). |
