From: Couldbe Yue http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_west/8028898.stmthe kid is 10, as you'll see from the pic of the shop there's a dirty great sign on the door saying no one under 16. Kid walks in and gets burnt.. cue the howls to regulate the sundbed industry does mother get a slap for letting her child out unsupervised? no. Does it even mention that the mother gave the child a dressing down for going in somewhere she shouldn't hve? no Where's Darwin's theory when you need it?? Dear Couldbe, Thanks for your inquiry in our new "Answers by and for Idiots" forum. Under our new thought filtering guidelines, all referneces to the theories of that person who shall no longet be named are now forbidden. Puritanic Regards, Taliban Linden

From: Prilis Boa I hesitate to do this because I don't want to seem like I am promoting my own commercial interests as others have done, but I wanted to extend an invitation to any business owners who feel trapped or forced to move to Ursula.
We have a large not-for-profit island sim with several parcels for growing D/s lifestyle businesses. We are home to Open Collar HQ as well as several business that have grown and prospered through having a presence here.
Like I say, I don't want to use this forum as a platform to discuss my own interests, but if anyone is seeking to rent a new home for their business, at reasonable rates with parcel permissions, and escape the pogram, please drop me a NC inworld and I will get back to you on Monday.
Maybe if there are other people who can offer something similar it would help people from having to move to the ghetto and keep our lifestyle active in other regions too. Is there somewhere more appropriate than this board where such places of refuge could be advertised?
P Be careful as you say you are a not for profit island is that LL not for profit as in you got the sim at the LL not for profit rates or that you just don't make a profit, because if I remember correctly there are rules about renting if you have a LL not for profit sim. Just saying

Maybe

Maybe we should try to not only feed some local and some international newspapers with mails about the comical LL grotesque wich is going on here, but also feeding some news agencys.
They ticker every second if - at a peaceful and sleepy sunday morning - a bicycle with a bag full of polished rice keels over in a 19 souls rice-farmer village somewhere in a chinese province named Zhejiang behind the 77 befogged hills and mountains along the river Shuiyang Jiang.
Should be normal that it would be also worth a notice through the tickers, if a whole world, even a virtual one, a by medias well known and once (along 2006/07) daily around the clock hyped world, breaks into pieces by mismanagment.

Blondin, the Jira is up to 964 votes in less than 48 hours.
I hope this illustrates what we've been trying to tell you for weeks now. Please, before everything is completely ruined (one way or another), get LL to make an public announcement that this unworkable plan is on hold and invite us to work WITH you to create a plan that will meet as many goals as possible, as efficiently as possible and as fairly as possible.
We, Linden Labs and the customer base, are a huge group of brilliant, creative, savvy people. There is no reason whatsoever for this variance and adversarial debacle in which we find ourselves. Give us back our world and we will give you the world.
Win-Win

From: Blondin Linden This particular thread will be closing at the end of the day but another one will pop up in a week or so. We're still tweaking the Defs (ie, photorealistic / PG) so when we get another draft posted, we'll open up another thread. Why close it whilst people are still getting their heads around and testing the new client? Leave the thread open until the new proposals are ready. There are a lot more problems to this than simply tweaking defs about photorealistic/PG, moving builds and the keyword filter is a disaster. You still aren't providing a satisfactory option for renters on mainland or estate or the owners of parcels on mainland or estate who will lose tenants over this. The thread should stay open.

The thread should stay open. Actually, I don't mind if this particular thread is closed and a new one dealing with where we are now opens immediately. This thread is huge and very intimidating to other users who are just now learning of this issue.

I wish someone would make a t-shirt out of that picture. I would actually pay for it. Most of the protest methods have been lame (in my view) but this one is cute and on point.

flickr view groups
05-01-2009 09:11
for those of you who have posted pictures to the flickr group, you might like to check to see how many views you have - the hysteria over at xsl last night appears to have boosted the number of views. There are other groups that you can post to at certain view levels. Here are the main sl ones based on views: 200 views adult: http://www.flickr.com/groups/200views_m-a_second_life_group/200 views: http://www.flickr.com/groups/502823@N22/100 views: http://www.flickr.com/groups/secondlife100/click on the link, join the group then go back to your picture and add it to the group.

With this thread closing later today, I again ask if there's any outstanding questions that _LL has for us_. I'm sure there will be multiple (more) threads in RA while this sub-forum gets locked down. Is there really nothing you want to know from us, Blondin? Now (or when you close this thread) would be a great time to ask instead of leaving us to chat at random about the project... From: Blondin Linden Those are just rumors. We are well aware. This is the first time I've heard this...
