Instead of going to the trouble LL is going to, how about just letting users flag their accounts in the viewer as PG or mature? Put in a check box that says "I don't mind seeing mature content".
Don't check the "Mature" box on your account, and your avatar will be prevented from entering mature regions.
If there's a region you want to go to that's mature, but doesn't actually have anything offensive to you in it, uncheck the box and go on in.
No one has to worry about moving their business, and the potential loss of customers will be far less significant than the current plan.
As for mature material appearing in PG areas, there are already mechanisms in place to deal with that through the current abuse reporting system.
The only draback is, LL will have to find something else to do with those vacent Openspace servers. Ursula can be Nautilus II. Let the land flipping begin.

None of this matters as much as the extreme minority of people that don't like the high quality competition coming in to Second Life and eroding the businesses of the obsolete. This extreme minority appears to be hammering LL to take away user created content so only the chosen few sycophants can sell content in Second Life. These few are what amounts to the PN who are now hammering LL with such attacks to point out the only solution to all of Linden Labs issues is to remove the build tool from the user interface. Note that the real driver behind this would be whoever is running a third party grid that would suddenly benefit from the exodus. A grid who's owners provide monetary support to the places that promote griefers who are openly working to have user created content removed from Second Life.
Why do I suspect the new version of the viewer will not have the build tool in it anymore?
Could it be that anytime this question is raised LL ignores it and will not answer it?
Say what you want about adult content but this issue is zilch compared to the issues rolling down the turnpike towards you.
Enjoy it while you can.

Yeah search is not filtered at the moment but once it turns to ADULT REGIONS the adult parcels SHOULD only show on search if your in a ADULT REGION so if your on a mature sim you wont see the adult listing same for searching from a pg sim well thats the best way but i guess there would have to be a adult searching hub created so you can choose to teleport to adult to search whats there as we know flags are no good carpet bans are better but thats the only way to filter search if your not verified to go to adult search hub you carnt TP to see whats there the mind boggles lol also dont forget the viewer client is opensourced so building filters in the viewer wont really work people may get around that by making custom ones well just a thought |

You can put every search listing you found, it's not in the topic . We could all agree that the search could be a little more sensitive on some words, like google have done for images. But why do you see these shops or club on the top : because search results are by default sorted by the name ov visits: Yes, that is the adult content who run SL, for a big big part . And all that business realay on a lot of people which don't have a payment info.. Now i understand it doesn't work for everyone but please don't say it doesn't work for anyone as clearly it does
