just because some policy changed doesn't mean it wasn't the case when first mentioned. he's not in charge, and probably more frustrated than you about all the frequent changes.

An honorable man being lied to like that would quit. But that is an honorable man.

I'm telling you, it's deliberate. They want the majority of adult content right where it is, where it can get AR'd, investigated, and removed. Look at what Blondin SAID vs. what's in the definitions the G Team will USE.

Actualy they are moving the adult content out of SL it will be safer for when the kiddies get here. I cant see any sex shops being in SL by the end of next year.. it will be to protect the childeren and to save us from fraud but it will be done.

and yes I am being serious ;-(

Out of hundreds of move requests, there are four in the slapt.me wiki as denied, two of those denials were reversed on appeal, and one is still being appealed.

So far, ONE adult business has been flat out denied.

If they wanted rid of adult content, they would have just done that instead of gone through with this Rube Goldberg plan to remove it.

Oh, well, yeah, there might be two, maybe even three more we don't know about yet.

Anyone who owns mature land should be allowed a land swap. NO one should be denied for any reason.

Absolutely, the goalposts have been moved, everyone should have been allowed the chance to migrate.

Exactly they chose the move route, rather than simply making a new Less Porny Continent.

So they should just deal with the consequences of changing the rules and devaluing people's freedom to use their land as they chose.

But I believe Blondin deliberately lied, and lied, and lied...and that he was explicitly ordered to do so by M.
I think this borders on slander.

Never underestimate the effects of confusion, sloppy decision-making, and lack of communication. LL frequently engages in all 3, why do we have to ascribe "evil intent" to rank and file employees in order to explain the resulting chaos?

The only thing I am willing to say about Blondin is that he is obviously not the brightest bulb in the box, since he accepted the job as spokesperson for Adult policies. That was an obvious setup, anyone in that position would end up as a burnt offering.

More experienced and wiser employees, such as Jack, relied on equivocation and unresponsiveness to communicate the message that LL would be making it up as they went along, and were not looking to such as we for guidance, although obliged to make a show of soliciting input. Neither of those behaviors should have been a surprise to anyone on this thread.

I also think that SL is not destined to be PG-only. LL wants the revenue from both Adult activities and PG sims, and I am VERY sure LL knows that the populace would dwindle precipitously if sex were removed as part of SL's recreational offering.

How do you figure that? Are you Move request Psychic?

Its one that we know the details of.... An unknown number of other potential denials.

There is no way to speculate on how many we don't know about yet.

I think you misunderstood what he meant. It *will* be their choice to move. But they may not get a FREE land swap. They can buy a parcel and move there once the land goes up for general purchase.

At least that was the way I took it to mean. :)

I thought that may have been one possibility.

However - THAT would have been an extremely deceptive way to answer my question.

If that had been the actual answer Blondin were he an honorable person would have added a second sentence clarify that.

----------------------

AND - I considered that as a possibility at the time and offered him multiple chances to further explain and he didn't bother.

Blondin said 'They can. That will be their choice if they want to move.' Where did he say they can move for free?

When the parcel in question can only be found in search if you tick "Adult" in the new viewer then something is very much amiss with it being refused a land swap.

QFT!

To Adult for a Mature Search Listing, but not Adult enough for Adult Land?

That is lunacy.

You missed the Verb in my question that Blondin answered

I didn't ask if they could move

I asked if they would BE moved.

**************BE***************** Moved

---------------------------

BE which is the infinitive version of the verb "To Be"

perhaps you missed the "Teacher can I/ may I?" bit in grade school?

I suspect that if there were a significant number of adult businesses being denied land swaps, we'd have heard about more than one by now.

Ahh and your definition of Significant is?

But lacking further clarification its guessed at 2 or 3 .. which seems suspect considering how many businesses are in SL.

What percentage of people do you figure read these forums? What percentage actually post on them?

As an FYI, there is another person in this very thread who brought up their RP community.

Those that have known me over the years know I was one of the original 3 "Adult" Animation providers. I shut down awhile ago because of the verification announcement and because I no longer was enjoying making the animations.

I saw the writing on the wall THEN.

LL would find a way to either ban Adult content or hide it. Once hidden LL can legally say see we put all these measures in place if little Johnny sees something objectionable its not our problem. GO after the content creator. The content creator might or might not be able to win a lawsuit. But the fact is he/she would go broke trying. No thanks not going there.

As for the messed up implementation. SERIOUSLY does it surprise anyone?

When has LL ever implemented anything without it being a colossal disaster?

It doesn't matter if Blondin lied or not. The disaster exists. Many creators are being hurt by this. Many landowners that have nothing to do with adult content are being hurt by this. We all keep begging LL to pull it's collective head out of its collective derrier but we know they like it in there. NOTHING is going to change.

The swaps will continue and the changing rules will continue to change. Thats SL, not too diff from RL IMHO.

I understand now. You left out a prepositional phrase so any answer can look bad. That is very clever of you.

Hasn't Blondin done enough esplanin? I'm not sure why anybody would think that cause they put "XXX" in their land description that would be enough to qualify for a land swap. I think (?) that is what you mean by this post. Blondin may not have "gotten" your original question... I'm not sure I did.

The Question was in response to Blondin describing how people could change their descriptions to remain "Mature" rated.

Thus I wanted to know why should people have to change said descriptions if they instead wanted to be swapped.

I asked the question At least 3 times I believe before that answer, so the actual post Blondin quoted was a bit pared down to simplicity from the earlier ones.
