I disagree. With all the clubs there are in SL I don't think we should try and be another one. I had in mind just a simple clubhouse/biker bar/diner/whatever where people can hang out and maybe dance.

If its that big I think you'll find most everyone will end up hanging out in one area anyway, why make it so huge when it could be more intimate?
That was were I was this morning but the tier contributions kept coming in. I'm stepping out of it for now. Enough cooks in the kitchen. Let me know when I can be of further assistance.

And when did I say anything about a club?

Naw, its been said before that all thoughts on this should be put out there. I think the main reason for preparing ahead of time on size is simple. Say the purchase is made for a 4k plot but later more is really needed...great, unless there isnt any land around it for sale. Then the process of selling and moving has to happen...thats a bit of a pain. Figuring what space is needed and will be used is good thinkuns'!

The forum I recommended earlier to eventually move this discussion to, and have future non Resident Answers related cartel discussions:

/invalid_link.html

I don't know how to get us hooked up there though, but I believe it involves ticking the box on the in-world group info "publish on web".

Also, once ideas begin to solidify, and if we are actually going to vote as a group on certain issues such as build theme, content, etc, then I would recommend using the in-world voting tool, and not the forum polls here.

I'm going to stay in the shadows on this for now, as it seems it's well under control, and good ideas are flowing. All I ask is that as many folks as possible are afforded opportunities to contribute to this project, and that they are also afforded the opportunity to weigh in on ultimate decisions which will effect the overal character and identity of this extremely hell-of-a-great-idea project. I agree with Malachi entirely on the PG/Mature issue. I also tend to lean more toward the PG side of things, but that doesn't mean I'm offended by course language - if I was, I'd have to punish myself, I use it frequently depending on the setting - but please, no permanently installed sex apparatus, I beg of you. Special events, when it's clear that this is an evening of debauchery, bring your own stuff and pick it up when you leave, if it must happen.

Trout - let us know via a group notice when the banker alt is established, and please everyone - use the in world group tools to keep us informed.. I am necessarily spending more time there than here for now.

If they're there, they should be open to anyone wishing to use them, or they should all be closed down.

Remember "No-Host Chat" held on Stage 4 in Ahern?

If you don't, it was a non-event held nightly (weekly?) at what sorta became the welcome center. People just gathered and chatted about anything and nothing. On a good night there'd be a dozen people just shooting the breeze. Notable attendees who come to mind are Onieronaut Escher and Devlin Gallant.

I really miss those and hope that we can regain some taste of it. Thanks for your indulgence. Oh yeah, I had a point: it didn't take much of a build to make that happen.

those one there are usable just can't start new ones I think they had a database issue with it and too many requests so when they closed all the various parts of the other forums down they stopped allowing groups to open those forums. OOoo ask strife unless he reads this post maybe we can just wait for him to come post :)

I'm pretty sure new ones can't be started though

I think there's something to be said for a compelling build though.. an environment that consumes and immerses you. Don't you think? I mean, if we just wanted a place to chat, and not be concerned with aesthetics, we could start an IRC channel. Not a bad idea in and of itself.

EDIT: I'd really like to explore the idea of converging the IRC space with Second Life, in some way. Some 60,000 users (counting bots) on EFNet alone. There has to be a way to capture at least part of that space. I know this is off topic, sorry. So where were we? Oh yes.. chat spaces..

... but we don't need ... the bondage dungeon or anything like that. If people want to hook up, they have no shortage of places to do it in SL.

I offer up my budding skybox dungeon if the mood takes you there. Or I do... :D

/me sighs. I almost thought I was going to get lucky there.

Well, I managed to get the alt up and running. He's shockingly Ruthed. Or the male equivalent of Ruth. I'm not getting him anything either. His name is CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz. (I picked Mumfuzz because it made me giggle).

So, if you want to send donations, let 'er rip. One last time, for the record. Consider these gifts, not investments. You have no expectation of return.

BTW. Checked out Chris' build that he was talking about. Damn near perfect. If there were a place like that in RL, I'd hang out there.

OK all, the Forum Alt account is named: CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz. If you want to donate toward initial land purchase, that's the alt to pay. Trout and I are keeping double books so that all is fair. Please IM or PM me with the amount that you pay so that we can keep honest track of what's in the account.

The deadline for initial land L$ donations is Monday September 17 at 23:59 SLT, so get em in before that! We're also setting the deadline for tier donations to the Forum Cartel group to be the same time and date, so that we will know exactly how much L$ we have, and how much we can support.

Cheers and love to you all!
Oryx

[Edit: Dammit Trout, stop doing that!]

And will it be a female alt?

c'mon Chris, think about it ... if Trout made his alt female he'd spend it all on clothes and shoes ;)

now .. back to page 10!!!

Textures, Sending my first alt
09-14-2007 01:09
What type of textures and type of build would you guys want?
Want gardens or is that too pretty for bikers?
I have begun drawing 3d walls with flowers, etc.
I can make some dingy ones with panties or draw out whatever details you want.
If you want certain type of texture with dropped panties and counters with pies I can do that too.
Also my private group and liabary has got pretty much all of the textures in SL for that I can use for building.
I have Dagon Grimm look up the Forum Cartell and join.
FD Sparks doesn't usually wonder far from the two sims his friends almost own in Nakji and Huin because he lives in his bathrobe and pj bottoms:)

Can anyone join in?

I don't have tier to donate as not premium, but could donate some $L for land purchase.

I do furniture and things but don't think my vampire theme will suite ...... though I could supply a graveyard :D

I say we postpone the deadline for donations until I can get my Swiss bank account set up and my fake passport back from Raul.

Raul says he needs another day, to get his cadillac out of the pound.

I hope he's quick .. I'm in the boot and I don't think this laptop battery's gonna last much longer!

Right .. back to page 19!!!
