I find this all really exciting :D

If I thought I could be reliable in terms of time to devote to it I'd volunteer for some building or landscaping, but as it is I'll just be sending some Lindens as soon as I get back to my SL computer.

Thanks all! I'm sorry I'm not keeping ultra-close watch on this thread right now. I've got a huge project due in about 2 hours and I need to polish it up for presentation. I'll check back in every now and then, though.

No problemo here. I can't run the client and a browser at the same time

But I do see what you mean.

I modified my original, barely-popular Rusty Nail Bar and Grill and make a Double Wide version of it with a 32m x 24m footprint. It has lots of features along with a bar with cabinets, bar stools, tables, chairs, 3-speed ceiling fans, switchable ceiling lights, 2-way tintable windows. It is in oceanfront/boardwalk style.

Maybe people like it, if not, no problem. I can alter it as well as make it 2 or 3 levels. I tested my 20m x 20m Spankme Pinkerton Dance Floor and the particles were shooting through the roof!

I setup my demo house rezzer to display it by default at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lunata/30/203/26

What we do is, we put up a big screen behind the bar, like those voting board things.

Each person types a line or two of chat, and it appears on the board.

It'll be sort of a Virtual Forum! :D

Ahhh, the comfort of familiar, homey things. :)

That's a great idea! Now you're thinking.

Mostly I was just kidding, of course, but this hit me last night when I realized how often my partner and I will sit next to each other but chat in SL.

The Forum meetups we have had up to this point had plenty of conversation. :) A couple of them lasted for hours.

What kind of tin cans and kite string are you people using not to be able to run anything else with the client? I am on a 3 year old HP with Comcast (you have service when we feel like providing it) internet. I can run the client, Firefox with 3 tabs, and WMP watching a movie or listening to music all at the same time. And I live out in the freakin boonies, my power and cable go out all the time with the explanation of "There was a possum in a substation."

I don't wanna! Cherry pie leads directly to pictures of Warrant. *shudder*

Oh, and while Paradise Blankets only initially seat a limited number of people, you can tp in as many as the sim will hold once you've got a module up and running.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

awww ... nobody's going to make a cherry pie armchair with whipped cream arms? and a cherry pillow for your head?

:o I can't believe I said that.

Not sure how to make whip cream nor if it would be seen well in SL as texture but perhaps there is way to make whip cream particles? LOL

Perhaps I should try adding a possum.

Actually saw a squirrel take down a pole transformer (which is sort of a teensy substation). It was spectacular. Huge shower of sparks like a really nice 4th of July skyrocket bursting, and a whole block of houses just went dead.

Fried squirrel - probably pretty good with butter and garlic...

we seem to be hung up on the idea of a bar and dancing and whatnot.
this is a great opportunity to create something more than that. tower of prims, nci, etc are examples of builds with a greater purpose. it is possible to do something other than a bar/danceclub while still embracing the social aspect to it.

Forum Gardens? *grin*

One thing I want to suggest... can we put a tip jar in for Strife? S/he puts up with a lot from us.
