it is not used for events, and it is part of the city I am building, has a music stream running and occasionally I will have a party there, when we feel like it

anyone is welcome to drop in, and it would save from anyone having to donate land

low lag server, private not mainland, class 5 server, has a train too that you can ride if you get bored or want to explore.

Personally I think the idea of making it a PG area makes sense for some of the reasons already stated. I'd like this to be an area for EVERYONE to feel comfortable in, child avs, adults, nekos, furries, and so on and so on

On the other-hand that is just my opinion. A lot of people are putting a lot of time, effort and money into this. I really think it needs to be a group discussion and decision not a few deciding that one person must be in just because they've been around awhile.

This is for EVERYONE is my vote, but I think there should be a vote (or consensus at least)

Nah. It looks like that because Orientation Island has a HUD it activates on you, but you can eventually detach it and delete it. Send your alt a folder of landmarks and anything else you think is basic (a walk, a skin, etc.) while s/he is still on OI, then TP away before you feel compelled to help anyone. Believe me, start doing that and you'll be there for hours.

I like the earlier suggestion of this being more of a roadhouse feel than a biker bar.

I also think that, while it doesn't need to be huge, it needs to be more-or-less open to accomodate camera slew. We can divide it into different conversation areas with furniture etc..

And I think the furniture should offer some couples sits as well as nice single sits.

Mature land with PG conduct unless a special event is scheduled sounds great. Tho if we ban suggestive conversation it may be kinda quiet

I'm pretty sure we've reached a consensus that this will not be a XXX site; more likely PG with some more private cuddle areas upstairs or wherever. The occasional raunchy party, yes, but those will be announced in the group notices so that shy people can steer clear if they so desire. I see no need for a vote here.

Now that I can see again I've read through all this and see a nice mix of enthusiasm and reason. I will agree what Oryx says above. (Just assuming more posts will intervene while I'm typing) During said times of raunch if I'm not participating I would be glad to have any sociable guests stop by my place to hang out. I'm still in the process of furnishing and obtaining entertainments.

I have sets of wild textures the builders are welcome to use.

Everything you say here makes perfect sense. Our builders can get the size right, I'm sure. The bar I was talking about earlier was gargantuan. I almost had to adjust my draw distance to see the other side. That's too big.

I think "couples sits" was the phase I was looking for in my badly mangled description above. People lounge around on each other. It's why God invented the sofa. They don't sit three to a sofa, hands in lap, with an even 18 inch separation between them at all times. Same thing with beach bonfires, campfires, pillows on the floor, etc.

It's my fault the whole "biker bar" thing came about. I completely misused that phrase. Hah! Nobody is banning suggestive conversation. You know what I always say. When they outlaw suggestive conversation, only outlaws will converse suggestively.

I see that there is 7221 sq m for land contribution. Is that enough or is more needed? I only have 139 available but I'll throw it in there if needed.

Not sure that 7221 is needed for a hangout, unless you reeaaaaallllllyyy like to stretch out your legs.

Yeah that's why i was asking. That really seems to be enough land, I'll just wait until I make some more sales from my new furniture line (shameless plug) and then donate $L.

As we talk about cuddle animations etc, I have some that can be donated with the dance balls as well. A couple of full romantic animation balls as well. I like the idea of having it be available to that extent of 'adult' without it going raunchy. Not that thats a bad thing...mind you lol

Ok..to be clear. While Oryx and Trout have been given the authority to make this thing, they are also directed by Chris and Myself to consider all ideas. No one's suggestion will be dismissed without equal consideration I just sent out a group message asking for ideas on what the theme should be, plese send Me your suggestions via IM. Nothing will be put into action until all suggestions are considered. If you aren't a group member, please join IM me or Chris, or join up yourself. I will be the Communications Center for this project, I'll recieve suggestions and will bring them to the Project Managers for discussion and we'll feedback our thoughts before proceeding. The final decisions will rest with the group officers in the end. If you wish to contribute as an officer let me know and it will be considered. There won't be any X rated activity, rest assured that is not the intention. We want this to be a place everyone will enjoy, if we all give a little we will all get back a lot, I think. This can be something that can really make a mark in SL, i was skeptical at first but I am starting to think it can happen. Penguin.

I could make a Killer club on 4096 - and I know a lot of the people on these forums are better at building than I am.

4096 is tons i have a whole mini one horse town on 8192. Just have to know how to make low prim objects.

I will send in ideas brenda but either of the two i saw were good I prefer slighly "used" to the never used look

My latest thought is actually a bigger themed area with a central open air meeting place surrounded by some of the other ideas like the greasy spoon and the biker bar. Yah with all the generous contributions, it could end up being more like a town than a single build.

ok - quick heads up. I'm only going to be on sporadically. I've got a major RL thing going on and I won't be on from 11:00 AM on. I'll be around over the weekend and in-world a lot as well, I hope. But I've had about a billion PMs * today. I've responded to all of them, I think, but if you send me something tomorrow and I don't get right back to you, I'm not ignoring you. You can cc Oryx on it as well and she and I will get together over the weekend. Feel free to keep sending the ideas my way and I'll make sure we look at all of them.

Btw, I don't remember being directed to do anything other than not F up. I was already considering all ideas, so it looks like we are in complete agreement.

EDIT: I meant to say this is an issue tomorrow only. I'll be in-world tonight, but tomorrow is looking seriously screwed up for me and SL and seriously excellent for me and RL. Normal weekend for me.

I disagree. With all the clubs there are in SL I don't think we should try and be another one. I had in mind just a simple clubhouse/biker bar/diner/whatever where people can hang out and maybe dance.

If its that big I think you'll find most everyone will end up hanging out in one area anyway, why make it so huge when it could be more intimate?

I think any expansion would be long term. Getting the central area built is the first objective
