His name is CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz.
...
BTW. Checked out Chris' build that he was talking about. Damn near perfect. If there were a place like that in RL, I'd hang out there.
OMG, CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz is such a total newb: no payment information on file, no profile, born yesterday. I gave him my donation anyway.

If Chris Norse's Kentucky Saloon is a prototype of the final build, then woohoo, nice work. If you do go visit, note that it sits on 1048m, so 4096m should be nicely too large for the intended use.

Thanks for keeping this moving, folks.

1) Nah. It looks like that because Orientation Island has a HUD it activates on you, but you can eventually detach it and delete it. Send your alt a folder of landmarks and anything else you think is basic (a walk, a skin, etc.) while s/he is still on OI, then TP away before you feel compelled to help anyone. Believe me, start doing that and you'll be there for hours.

2) I like the earlier suggestion of this being more of a roadhouse feel than a biker bar.

3) I also think that, while it doesn't need to be huge, it needs to be more-or-less open to accomodate camera slew. We can divide it into different conversation areas with furniture etc..

4) And I think the furniture should offer some couples sits as well as nice single sits.

5) Mature land with PG conduct unless a special event is scheduled sounds great. Tho if we ban suggestive conversation it may be kinda quiet ;)

1) ROFL oh boy is that true!!!

2) I think the whole concept of it being just one thing very limiting. My initial sceptisism was 'oh no, not another cavernous, dark, laggicious dance balled hell-hole.'
To me SL very much reminds me of my biker bar. I can listen to the rabble or go into a corner for a head-to-head. I mean, I don't need license plates on the walls. I don't need a shelf for the crash helmet. I'm there for the company.

3) I think the more open the better. As a group, we're dynamic. Walls are ok for keeping outsiders from watching our nefarious activities but hell, there's plenty of places for that kind of thing elsewhere as many point out.

4) Excellent! Static poses are easy to see, can be very atmospheric, are nothing as laggy as animations. A natural and resource light way to converse.

5) Yes, I was thinking this way and Brenda already suggests it. I mean, all this chat about Brendas panties and Slippendales is all good fun in the forum thread .. but if you think I'm going to stand on stage 'strutting my stuff' with Egon you gotta be joking .. I have enough to put up with with his laundry out the front! .... Nope! I'd sooner be down the street in the deli with Mari seeing who can make the most hideously coloured cream soda!

Page 22 ... nearly there! .. <puff .. pant>

Can anyone join in?

I don't have tier to donate as not premium, but could donate some $L for land purchase.

I do furniture and things but don't think my vampire theme will suite ...... though I could supply a graveyard :D

Denise all you have to donate is your presence. We don't require anything for membership. So just join up and have fun.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

hey, i just checked out chris' place--something like that and that size would really be neat.
nice and open, plenty of room to move around, without going overboard. he really did a good job, loved the signage he used, pay phone, pool table, etc.. seemed just like in RL. kudos to chris!

So far the roadhouse idea is the most popular idea sent to me. And Chris's model is a good one, as long as we don't get the Italian Vampires with it. Another suggestion was an open air Central Meeting place, with various structures going off from it. Another suggestion was in true cartel theme, a mafia style hangout, either a Brooklyn Warehouse, Little Italy restaurant *My favorite* or a Gaudy New Jersey Tony Soprano Mansion. Keep those cards and letters coming.

Did you get Elex's suggestion of the meeting place being on top of a prim that has the TOS engraved on it?

you know, brenda, out on Dream Island, they have a HUGE dance hall, i guess you would call it, with seating arrangements as part of the dance floor and if i remember correctly, a bar, but its all open to the outside with gazebo type things off of the four corners for more intimate seating. This place is probably too big, but the concept is kind of nice. maybe we could incorporate some of those things? just an idea!

I will add that to the list, that is a nice suggestion . I love those types of places in RL, there is a lovely German Park near my home, where I will be spending some time this weekend for Oktoberfest.

Regarding the land purchase...the market is still flat even with this two week break in new sims to auction. So there is no need to rush to try to time the bottom. We seem to be dragging along the bottom and will keep doing so until the end of September. We can take our time as we decide the size of plot we will be getting and Sarah scouts out the perfect sim and parcel for us. :)

If it's open sided people want I have a build at Burning Life that might do the job. Not quite the biker bar, more medieval, but it might save our nominated builders from having to build the structure.

I think our tier is fine to start, I'm holding mine in reserve for now, but we'll let the Project Managers weigh in when they get here.

I'm inworld now and will be most of the day, so if you want to send ideas via IM, instead of here, that's fine. If you want to join the group, send me a note as well

Well, if we get it built one way, maybe we'll get bored after a while, or someone will get inspired, and we can change it. Be a good way for forum members to show off their fave ideas, if they feel like putting in the time.

I'd like to volunteer to do or lead the out-building parklette thingy. It is a great idea.

Are there SLURL's for Chris's place or any of the other places being talked about as possible templates? I looked through the last 100 or so postings and couldn't find anything, but it may just be buried...

Here's my contribution for the cause - either a meeting house or a skybox. the doors are unlocked, so go ahead and explore. I'm also open to "a bit" of building or landscaping as well, so long as I'm not running anything.

I feel there should be an overall 'pie' theme...

OK, maybe not, but if we end up with more than one structure, perhaps a little greasy spoon diner somewhere?

Great, thanks Malachi!

So we have Malachi for the park thingie, and Chris and Incanus for the main build. If you want to get involved with either of those projects, talk to them, although nothing is really planned yet. Sandbox is still tabled at the moment, although I have a feeling it will be rejected. Too much argument about it already. We'll sit down and figure out the Grand Plan this weekend sometime, or after monday, when all donations are due.

And like I said, if you make a donation to the alt, please let me know via PM or IM so that we can keep separate books for honesty's sake. Thanks!

Check my profile. It is in my picks.

Also, I got a treehouse for Mari this morning.
