Ok, we are at 300 posts now. If you have ideas, thoughts, plans, desires,or dreams for this place put them in a notecard and send it to Oryx, Trout, Queen Brenda, or myself. We will look these over and then put together a package.

Agreed. That's one of the reasons for holding off for a couple of days. By the end of the weekend, we should have a much more solid idea of where we stand, how much cash and tier we have and what the overall vision for the place should be. We may not be 100% there, but we will know a lot more about what we actually have to work with.

It'd be a disservice to the project NOT to have a place for you, sweetie. For that matter, I know some kiddies who'd do just fine in a biker bar...and some bikers who'd adopt a kid as a mascot in a hot second, and protect her better than a Secret Service escort.

But I'm sure we won't have to go that far. A "family friendly" area's been suggested, and sounds perfectly workable.

People love DJs but that is expensive and time consuming even if you just load up a playlist and let the third-party server stream it. Internet radio doesn't seem to have died (yet) and there are plenty of jukebox devices out there.

As for the kid thing, I'd be disappointed if we ended up with a place that was generally unsuitable for PG.

I have a jukebox I can donate. It also has a dance ball that has to be out to change the stations on the jukebox.

I think one of the best reasons to keep it along the lines of PG is if we are welcoming and open to the general newb (in game/forum etc). There is so much more to SL than sex and adult activities, and most other clubs (escort hangouts, nude beaches etc again) have all the adult stuff covered. I dont see the forum people getting together for a fun night at the orgy...but maybe thats just me lol

It will be great to have a place where we can prove, yes, SL is about more than just sex or adult stuff...not just say it on the forums.



edit to add...I have some other games that are nothing like Slingo or even multiplayer. I have a couple of hangmans, a tic tac toe board and a game that...uh, what the heck is it called. It starts with an M and is marbles on a board that you count around two lines of holes...shoot, I'm not in world or I would look. Manasumfinoranother. All available and low prim.

I'm gonna be putting out a Group IM asking for suggestions to the theme be sent to me. I will pass them onto the team and we will whittle them down and get a consensus. I think the term biker bar was a bit misused here, I'm not particularly fond of them eiher Mari, if that's what it becomes, I'l be outside pushing you on the swings

I do biker stuff and all of it is PG. Its a misconception that bikers = sex and a few other things. Like anything there is a crowd that probably does this but where I come from most bikers are middle aged have a house a wife and kids and play baseball in the local neighbourhood league cause a harley is worth about 2.5 cars so they need to feed their harley habit and since this city if full over government employees and high tech emplopyees (I live in what is called silicon valley north) we have our fair share of bikers who don't fit the "xxx" picture but rather the PG one. They go to shows, and go on road trips and may play dars in the winter and softball in the summer. In the summer when the bikes are out they ride to work in a full leather outfit and look mean and "outlaw" like. They park their bike in the parking lot and get offf the bike to strip off the outer layer which reveals a tailor made business suit. Their hair is cut and they have a moustache maybe... and then they unstrap their briefcase or take it out of the carrying case that is on the back and walk into work looking like a business dude ^^

I think we should have mature land definitely, and any Adult events can be scheduled and announced in advance so no one is exposed to something they don't want to see.

What a day to be stuck in meetings where laptops are not allowed...

This was what I was thinking. We are all adults, there will be times when some actions and conversations won't be acceptable, just like there will be other times when if you are easily offended you will need to hang elsewhere for the evening.

I think the forum orgy room is a no go. Actually, Oryx and I already discussed the rating briefly. I think we agree that we need to keep it Mature, but that we don't need anything x-rated. A little cussing (not over the top foulness) and the occasional out of control topless party is fine (with me at least), but we don't need rent by the hour sexgen-equipped rooms, the bondage dungeon or anything like that. If people want to hook up, they have no shortage of places to do it in SL. I wouldn't mind a second story for people to meet and hang out more quietly, but not naked, if that makes sense. I'm not good at describing this, but some type of cuddle animations that just let people hang together without being overly sexual. Does that make sense? Um...tasteful displays of affection?

I have to agree. A kid in a biker bar IRL is totally normal and the safest kid in the world. I have been that kid.

I don't want people throwing around biker bar as a place where it's always "dangerous" "rowdy" etc. I hang with alot of bikers IRL from a specific club which is why I wanted to add that.

I don't see that Mari's child av should be an issue at all. I presume she's an adult. Only an issue I think if there's sex involved which obviously there wouldnt be.
