The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I hold grudges for at least 20 minutes. I think that time has passed. Yes, we are good.

Being yourself .. Is not the same thing as making SL an extension of RL online.
Talking to people about your first life that you know .. Is not the same thing as making SL an extension of RL online.
Being open about your first life isnt the same thing either.
Dating people online isn't
Even using Voice chat isn't
-------------
Asking people you have just met A/S/L .. well that is trying to make SL more like RL online. Because presumably that information applies to what they want from second life.
Asking people for their phone numbers their MSN messenger names, their Myspace name, etc.
Looking for a Real Life relationship in Second Life, and imposing this search on others is making SL into an Eharmony.
Dating people online knowing on your end you hope it goes on to real life when they have said they don't do that, is not only imposing it is being dishonest.
-----------------------------------------
What would they hope to get out of the A/S/L from a complete stranger?
Unconsciously or consciously -
They are trying to weed out the people that wont ever be worth a plane ticket before they invest any time in them.

When someone asks me right off the bat if I am a female in real life I am simply dumbstruck by such rudeness. They might as well just ask me how much I weigh in real life. Maybe W/A/S/L will be the new thing on SL Eharmony.

From: Susie Boffin I agree with all of that and more. When someone asks me right off the bat if I am a female in real life I am simply dumbstruck by such rudeness. They might as well just ask me how much I weigh in real life. This one is annoying because RL men have manufactured this problem online, but RL women are the ones who are mistrusted as a result. I state clearly that I am a mom in my first life tab. Anyone with enough brains to actually date me online should be able to figure out I am therefore a woman. Many people are concerned over gender even if they have no intention on any relationship going to first life, so I do understand that question. Still, why you'd ask a complete stranger if they are gender bending boggles the mind.

There are simply too many people in Second Life who are too stupid to understand the distinctions involved.

When someone (sick minded of course, lots of them in SL) joins SL and see a child avatar they think "cool child sex is allowed". Then they go try and get themselfs in trouble. Would be better to just ban it all, especially being it is a controversial subject to begine with, and be done with it. You can still age play without the 3D effects and everyone else can rest easy. And before the age players jump in I challenge anyone of you to go to a major event in RL and ask around if child avatars and child sex should be allowed in SL and see how quick your ass is handed to you.

Making child sex ok is to be avoided at all costs even if it means banning child avatars in my opinion. Making it ok is a very Social no no in my opinion. I care less about the other threads. The same people making the same arguments. That is why I suggest finding a larger audience with less invested. Anyway carry on with social no no's. One I can think of is demanding money from mee because I been in game a lot longer and can afford it... Hahah yeah right...

There is no such thing as a child avatar. only adult avatars which may resemble children. The problem is some people are too dumb to even tell the difference.

From: 3Ring Binder come in complimenting the avatars clothing. that's a graet way to start a conversation that sometimes accidentally turns into a friendship. OK, this raises a new question: Ladies, how do you feel about someone asking you where you got your hair/dress/shoes? My RL understanding is that in RL, women resist answering such questions for fear they will meet themselves coming at the next get-together. Is SL that way, or are you willing to share sources?

From: JayDee Unknown I was just resonding to her post. Making child sex ok is to be avoided at all costs Be careful how you phrase that. What a rare few people were doing before the ban was simulated Child sex using adult avatars that resembled child avatars. The participants were adult. No one has ever said "Make child sex ok" As distasteful as it is, there is a definite difference.

There definatly is people under 18 on the main grid. They way they talk with no idea of how the world works is just one example of telling. Also a Social no no. Not doing some research before trying to play the character. However I completetly agree that child avatars are not children. I can't think of why a kid would pretend to be a kid in an adult game. They are usually to busy trying to be adults and trying to pick up women. However if it should still be allowed knowing that is not up to me.

Sources, designers, landmarks... when I find a creator making awesome content, I like to do my little bit to help spread the word. And, you know... I've sometimes seen someone wearing the same dress, or the same shoes, or the same hair - but I've never seen anyone with exactly the same look. It's all good.

I will tell and even give a landmark when I have them. I see the stuff I buy on others now and then but as stated above the look is still not the same. I make my own shapes so that helps also. I do usually change my cloths when some one around me has the samething on though.

I doubt there are many 8 year olds on the grid.
