Child avatars should be banned from Mature rated regions as well?

if everyone that buys a sim there turns them to adult all the sims would be adult..
the continent will still not be rated adult..but all the sims will be since everyone decided to make their sims adult rated sims..

if some decide to make them others it still will not make the continent rated anything..
and LL things will all be still under the global standards..

nobody can move into a sim buy a 512 plot and make that plot anything other than what the sim rating is..there is no loophole for that..

why are you thinking they ever could ..they could never change ratings of a plot inside a sim rated something else..

this rating system is not new..the way the search is using the content and activities to put you under a certain search is the new addition ..

you can change a rating on a sim by it's content..you cannot change the type of continent it is ..like pg mature or adult..

content and activities is what rates sims..a mature can drop to pg in a mature continent but the land lable will still say mature

Um. You're the one who didn't even know that kids, RL kids, are found in nudist resorts. Who went on the warpath against naturists until you were convinced that yes, that stuff is real. Pardon me if I don't assume that you're an expert on what's acceptable.

All the ToS does is give you the ability to AR them anyway. They're not going to burst into flames when they arrive in Zindra, no matter what the ToS says.

Okay, I've had about as much as I can take, an I can't takes no more.

Let me tell you about my day. It wasn't so bad to begin with, making sure my SL6B plot was really really ready for opening and the media day. getting a peek at the grey lagginess that is hair fair, and even going for yet another flight over the Gulf of Lauren.

Then a friend who was DJing a party sent me a SLURL to join 'em at the event. I teeped over and two other party members said, "There's that child avatar" and "quick, rez some penises." I teeped off. My friend, who is an adult avatar, is upset that he thought he was doing something okay to visit with a friend, only to see others use it as a chance to "trap" me.

Shortly after, another kid friend of mine tells me that she's being harassed at hair fair. She came to check out the wares with everyone else, but some other avvies there are threatening to strip down around "because it's okay as it's a mature sim" and she's having a moment of panic. I teach her how to do an AR (for harassment, not the nudity), and have her write the main Hair Fair coordinator.

A few minutes after that, work goes out on one of the kid groups about an adult avatar trying to lull kid avvies to, again, send ARs in on them. I run around to my stores and add 'em to the ban list.

I'm not telling all this to play "poor me" and be a victim here. I'm telling you because this is the *real* consequences of this thread as well as the other places this "discussion" is going on. Tell me, how many kids, today, ran around Zindra attempting to "catch" adults?

To me -- and yes, this is ironic -- it seems as if some folks are being very childish. An it ain't the ones in the kid avatars.

OK, So a land baron with 500 Sims can sprinkle Adult sims through out their empire without making an effort to create a sort of 'Adult Sim ghetto' by bunching them together. Well that makes it easier for the Land store.
The global standards do not have anything about Adult rated anything yet. They are still writing that as we speak.
Why would Linden Lab make it possible to have someone teleport to a PG plot right next to a Adult listing? So just buy the 512M next door and listing it will allow me to have folks teleport using PG settings and be right at my Adult rated content. Brilliant.

Mari, I harbor no ill-will for you, you seem like a nice person and all - BUT welcome to the repercussions of your actions. Child Avatars do not belong on the Zindra Adult continent.

Marianne, your account of what has been happening in-world is appalling. I am so sorry. Unfortunately, it says a great deal about what a really upsetting and even dangerous place SL can be. And, ironically, it speaks to what I've said before: that the only real reason to throw qualified support behind the creation of Zindra is in the hope that it will create a "safe zone" where this kind of thing is, at least, hopefully, somewhat rarer.

I don't know that shutting down discussions like this would make a difference; on the whole, I think debate is always better than silence. That said, I think it is time to shut down THIS thread, which has been going exactly nowhere for a great many pages now. This is no longer debate: it is now noise.

I assume you mean mainland sims. Zindra is the only continent that I am aware of that contains only one rating of sim (adult). Others are a mix of m and pg. The sims themselves are rated, and it has been a complaint for a long time that the two types are mixed together in a somewhat random fashion.

You can't change the rating. You can build whatever you want, as long as it is equal to or less than the land's rating. You can't decide that you want a bordelo on your pg parcel and consider that the land is now mature. You can build a school and playground on mature land, but the land is still mature.

Persons entering such a pg build on a mature parcel should not be shocked to encounter mature content next door. This situation can also occur if your pg parcel shares a sim border with a mature sim.

The joker in the deck is the new adult designation. At least at this time, it would appear that all such mainland parcels will be confined to seperate continents.

The next shoe to drop will be when the thousands of private sim owners have to make a decision between mature and adult.

sorry that was an example i was using with mature and pg..the main point was you could not put a 512 lot inside of an adult rated sim and have a pg rated 512 lot..it would still be rated adult if the sim was..

I think some good information has been discussed here in the last ten pages. Desmond's post was a nice take on what we will be facing. Checking the Adult land settings and finding out how those worked and now prospecting on what a Mature and PG Parcel side-by-side would look like in Zindra. Mari was not mentioned - the other child avatar involved was not mentioned.

Silencing people to make one person comfortable is not sending the right message to the community. Have a nice night.
