Lias, maybe they have payment info used for other reasons (like buying land) other than wanting to go to adult areas.

ok heres another one for you then

a slower 15yr boy steals his dads CC and gets veriifed. and plays on zinda day in and day out, fantising about RL sex all the time becouse hes growing and his hormones are rages. then one day he meets a sick adult playing a child avi (a girl) and after a few encounters they have pixel sex. now this isnt the smartest boy in the world he does have a learning dissorter. and he gets use to thinking young girls like that kind og behavoir and then one night goes into his sisters room.
Now if there was no child avis in zinda he would of been happy fantising about the pin up models on his walls but they allow child avis there to interact wiith the few learning disabled peoople that are able to get verified.

theres 100's if not 1,000;s of senerios that child avi's in Zinda can briing into RL drama for people that dont even use SL


Wow. That kind of effort really should go into writing fiction. Intolerant of learning disabilities now too? Pixelated interaction don't cause rape any more than Marilyn Manson, Elvis, space aliens etc.

You sit there and say that people need to be responsible for their actions as adults yet want to sanitize the possibility of A-Z going wrong.

The only fault in your short story is the dads. He should put his wallet up.

But the real point here is that *those are private rules on private land* - you want to make all of Second Life dance to YOUR OWN tune.
Just like when the residents rallied for the banning of adfarming. Some changes in the TOS just have to happen to help the community. And some people are not going to like it and some people loose money and some rights (adfarmers went broke). If common sense, common decency and the ensuing scandal do not convince you -then a New Adult TOS is the only answer.

When I want to shop in a Gorean market - I have to take off the ears and tail. Get a 'free woman' mask and what-not and go shopping. When I leave I get my avatar back on. You sound like a over immersed trekkie when you say changing from a child avatar for a few hours will strip you of who you are. Please.


Never had to change a thing going into a Gorean market. Also never wore a 'free woman' mask. I personally change my appearance constantly, but I have never seen Mari look like anything other than herself.

What does ad farming have to do with any of this? Once again attempting to emotionally sandbag your argument.

The truth is plain - you and a handful of others are misusing this forum to try to whip up an imaginary "scandal" WHEN THE CONTINENT HASN'T EVEN OPENED YET. The "scandal" exists only in your imagination, in veiled threat, and in legend-in-their-own-mind SL bloggers.

It's patently obvious you all are threatening LL with bad publicity - and on their own website. Bad form. Bad, bad form.

I have CC info on file but when I teleported to Zindra the first time I had to click this little pop-up box agreement to get in. I assume everyone had to do that - including the people wearing child avatars.

Adfarmers set out to harass others for their own personal profit. Rallying against those who intentionally uglified the mainland is not the same as rallying to justify intolerance, harassment and the restriction of movement for a group of individuals.

Could you clarify the "We" in this please? I don't recall seeing you at the Ad Zoo or Arbor meetings against ad farming. Or is this referring to that moral superiority complex that speaks for all of SL?

What was the old bumper sticker? The moral majority is neither.

Yes you did.
and I was also involed in the one of the first brownbags concerning zinda. and fought hard against it. I have no problem with adult content or Child avis for that matter.
but they do not belong togther.

I would say from the various threads, blog comments, and the messages I have personally received that the people who support child toons on Zindra are the extreme minority.
