So why are kids on Zindra?

I have not visited Zindra yet but a couple of SL blogs are discussing seeing child toons there. If this is the new adults-only zone for the sex0rs and child sex play is banned in SL then why are residents bringing their kid toons to Zindra to frolic with the horny folk?

I think it's obvious child avatars will eventually be banned from Zindra, I only hope it's sooner than later, for the good of everyone.

i) although adult content is *only* permitted on Zindra, the converse is not true - i.e. if you have land in Zindra you aren't forced to only have Adult content; you could create a completely PG or Mature area there. More typically you might have different areas of different maturity on your land (e.g. an Adult shop on the ground and a PG family skybx)

ii) Adult content includes both graphic sexual material and graphic violent material. A non-sexual violent themed area (e.g. based on a horror genre) would be classified as adult but it would still be permissble for child avatars to visit it under the current SL ToS.

LL is gathering all the porn, prostitution, strippers, etc to Zindra and excluding that content from the rest of the grid. I would say that makes it the defacto region for adult activities.

Clearly the region is not currently adults-only. I'm suggesting that it should be.

/slight derail and minor point - moving it to adult rated regions, Zindra on the mainland and any private region that chooses that rating.

You haven't explained why, other than suggesting that it's only for sex, which isn't actually the case.

You have any evidence those children avs are entering into sexual situations or are run by under 18s?

It already IS adult only, like SL, in that sense.

It *is* adults only. It's for any avatar that 1) account verifies, and 2) chooses to view Adult content.

Child avatars are not prohibited from doing either of these things. And besides, they are NOT CHILDREN. Every one of them is over 18, and has (demonstrably) proven so, or they would not be there.

Which is not to say that sexual ageplay is permitted. It's not, even in Adult regions.

If a child avatar chooses to visit, or even live in, an area full of violence, sin, and danger, who are you or anyone to say they cannot? Haven't you ever read Oliver Twist? Or Little Orphan Annie?

The Child Growing Up in Difficult Circumstances is great theatre, with a long and honorable history.

It only barely opened, it was just a hello impromptu reception kinda thing. People just standing around talking. In the future when Zindra really begins to have 'content', I'm sure that the SL kids will adhere to the SL TOS, which is what they do, even now. It's to their benefit to do so. I think it's a little too soon to judge, they were only there chatting. I flew over much of Zindra and didn't see anything but Linden grass and desert-y looking land. Seeing the 2 kids I saw in the hub area didn't bother me at all, as there wasn't much to see as far as adult content goes.

You can do other things there and some will but the point of the region is sex. Currently the way it is it would be like gathering all the massage parlors and strip clubs in America and place them in a neighborhood where you can also build an elementary school.

I get that you're gonna use this thread to pad your 13,000+ post count but can you at least stay on topic. This is not about children being menaced necessarily. This is about the depiction of children engaging with adults in sexual activities. In a place like Zindra the lines can and will be easily crossed.

To me a child avi entering a 'sexual situation' is a child avi heading to land labelled ADULT. You'd expect to see nudity, you'd expect to see sex, expect to hear sex, expect to read sexual content.

On my first visit there I was propositioned, now I'm sure I'm not the only one who's visited and been that lucky, any avatar could have been...Kiddy or not but I'd expect that kind of behaviour on the land the lindens have designated to be the 'adult continent'.

If the Lindens are ok with child roleplayers viewing and engaging this content I hope they're ok with the police reports that follow....

I know for sure I won't go back there until child roleplay is banned from areas marked adult. If it's not sorted within the week I'd have no qualms about discussing this 'roleplay' with the likes of CEOP uk. Simulated/imaginary or not this is WRONG. It certainly falls under the obcenities act in my country.

I've nothing against people who want to roleplay as kids but not in areas designated for sex, violence, drugs and booze.

How do you even turn adult areas on?

My roleplays will soon be going adult and so far my option is still grayed out.

Zindra is not exclusively for sexual activities. In fact I dare to say that at any given time no more than 2-4% of the avatars in Zindra will be engaged in sexual activities.

No it is not exclusively adult content but it is being exclusively provided for adult content.

as they are NOT children but cartoon characters being run by Adults! They are not allowed to age-play...nothing sexual is allowed for child avatars. Just dont forget they are not the cartoon character you see, but an adult...who is age verified and has every right to be there. It would be nicer if the adult avatars and their adult owners would act like adults, go somewhere that doesnt offend them as there are plenty of pg areas in SL, and leave the rest alone to explore their SL. I think its worse for the adult avatar and owner to be pig headed and put their nose in other peoples business, than see a cartoon character in Zindra that all know has a right to be there.
